"He was spending most of his sleep time doing tai chi just to reduce his own tension," Kate said. "And all it got him was sleep deprived."
"That's not true. Everyone kept their jobs, nobody got into a fistfight with each other, and everything was peaceful. I'd say it went rather well, actually," Robert said. "Anyone heard from our travellers yet?" He didn't want to mention Khaat or Brian out loud so the kids could overhear.
"No, stop worrying, Dad," Michael said. "They'll be here. Or did you forget how newlyweds behave? You're not that senile yet are you?"
"Do I look it?" Robert scowled.
"Depends on the day," Michael said, sipping on his tea.
"I can beat you in crosscountry any day, any time," Robert said. "And I'll beat you at chess even faster than that."
Michael laughed out loud. "Oh, you really think so, do you? Alright, Big Mouth, I'll take you up on that. Any day, any time, you said."
"I did say it, and I meant it."
"You're on, then," Michael said. "My call on the day and the time."
"Bring it, if you think you can."
"Oh, I know I can," Michael said.
