Transfiguration (Class 1)

Amelia put her head down on the table. She couldn’t believe she had done that. It wasn’t like her to struggle in Transfiguration. She had to get hold her mum soon. If she kept going like this she was going to die or at least make a complete fool of herself. She was so off her game, she was so mad at herself. She refused to cry or lash out at something.

She felt Claire touch her shoulder. She didn’t want to talk, not to anyone. She’d just hide here the rest of the day. She wished she was invisible right now.

"No offense to our most distinguished Head Boy," Teddy said, gritting her teeth against the pain in her shoulder, "But I'd rather be escorted by a monkey riding a pink dinosaur."

However, the pain was intensifying and she took to pulling her shirt's sleeve to view the damage. There was the injury - already bruising quite severely, a beautiful strip of blue and purple cutting across her white flesh as a testament to all she had not had a chance to learn in Transfiguration. She sighed, looking at the Head Boy. "As no other provisions are present, I see I have no choice. Lead the way."

Kingsley watched with a frown as Alex helped Theodora out of the class. Clearly, the two weren't on good terms. Kingsley walked back to his table and received the last of the pygmy puffs from the students. "Good work Evans. Macmillan, pull yourself together. You did well this class, it is the effort that counts," Kingsley said, knowing that a few kind words would help a lot.

"You all did very well to get the pygmy puffs out, I didn't expect it. Sullivan, meet me in the head master's office tomorrow for your detention. The rest of you should start studying for the next class. We'll be covering Conjuration, so make sure revise Gamp's law, as you will be tested on that. Class dismissed!"

Aidan smiled. He felt so proud that the Professor liked his transfiguration. He was going to work extra hard, he told himself. He didn't want to let himself get behind, he wanted to stay on top of all of his work. He made a mental note to look up Gump's Law that evening. He was sure he had read it in one of his books, so he wouldn't have to go and beat everyone else to the library. Everyone didn't seem to be as keen as he was about studying, though, he noticed. He didn't care that much about everyone else though. They could do what they like, as long as it didn't affect him.

Aidan was also happy he earnt points for Ravenclaw. He hadn't felt much towards his house so far. They seemed to be nice people, but Aidan didn't really see much point in earning house points or anything. However, a strange wave of happiness had passed over him as he learnt he earned the points. Not knowing what it was, Aidan pushed it aside. He didn't like not knowing things. He needed to focus on learning things for himself, not for all Ravenclaws. They liked studying too, most of them.

Just then Aidan heard the class being dismissed. He didn't have a lesson next, so cleared up his things and headed off back to the common room to do some work and maybe read up about some more transfiguration if he had the time.

Bella jumped as the bell went, she was so mesmerised by this subject, the ability to change a stationary object into anything she wanted, this branch of magic was her obsession, most classes she wouldn't make a huge deal about if she was late but tonight she would be kicking herself, for missing nearly 3/4 of the class. "Excuse me," she said, "You mentioned 'Gamp's Law' and please don't give me any hints but I know you can't make food out of nothing, you can summon it if you know where it is, but what about the exception of, well I actually don't know" she pondered over what she was going to ask, but it seemed to slip her mind. "Anyway I was wondering if you could give me extra tuition, to increase my learning abilities?"
