Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Candy Jones Sun Aug 26, 2012 3:27 am

Candy had been dosing off while sitting at a corner table. She was wishing she hadn’t stayed up so late. When the professor started to ask questions, nothing was coming to her. She decided it may be best if she just did the assignment. She hoped that she could at least do that.

“Permuto,” she casted on the ball. The ball transformed into a burning potion, she had learned how to make it Potions before she dropped the class last year. She slowly poured a small amount on the box. With the medium sized hole she had burned into the box she was able to pull out the toy Pygmy Puff out of the box. She went up to the professor and held out the toy.

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Scott sat down before Teddy could say much, and she decided not to dignify Brian's words with a response. She sighed and pointed at the back of Brian's head, saying, "Some prat in your house is after my reproductive organs. He was mad I told him to put a sock in it and called me out, and it got him all hot and bothered that I refused to be offended or something. I don't understand males." She rolled her eyes.

She was much too irritable to answer the professor's questions, so she simply set about the task of quietly completing the assignment. She was skilled in Transfiguration so she decided to take the challenge, pushing the metal ball away. She pulled the box in front of her and concentrated hard. "Permuto... Permuto... PERMUTO!"

It took intense concentration and a good few minutes, but the box transformed from metal to cardboard, and she opened it, revealing the toy. She bounced it in one hand and looked up. "Done."

And that was when a crowbar flew into her shoulder.

She flopped back into her chair, releasing a shout of pain and a few choice curse words. She spotted the one who had dropped the crowbar and shrieked, "What the hell?!" She flopped her arm, tears of pain gathering in her eyes. "I think you dislocated it!"

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Elliot "Ellie" Hansen Sun Aug 26, 2012 6:59 am

Ellie didn't feel like trying to hard. The assignment was something she had already done, and the repeat Ravenclaw did not care to try and push the limits of her creativity in classes. Classes were survival, not for caring. It was simple enough to transform the ball into a screwdriver and slowly go about the process of unscrewing the metal boxes screws until she uncovered the hidden toy.

She glanced around, watching all of the drama and angst go down, feeling a little left out. She was a repeat seventh year, and she wanted to have her fun. She weighed the plush toy in her hand and scanned the class, before settling on the Gryffindor who has caused the initial discourse, the Sullivan boy. And she hurled the toy at his head, the toy soaring over a flying crowbar.

Only at Hogwarts.

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Amelia Macmillan Sun Aug 26, 2012 4:34 pm

Amelia eyes got big when she realized it had hit another student. She really hadn’t meant for that to happen, it’s not like she was controlling it. She saw Claire transform the box to paper and got the toy out and winked at her. When Claire went up to the Professor, Amelia was stunned when Claire lied about who had gotten the toy out of the box.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to,” said Amelia really meaning the apology. She didn’t know what to do; she wasn’t a Healer by any means. “Is there anything I can do help?” she asked. She didn’t know if she could help but she was going to try.

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Brian Sullivan Mon Aug 27, 2012 6:19 pm

Brian had somewhat calmed himself down after what seemed like the entire class had turned against him. It was not the first time a group of people had been annoyed by his actions but it seemed like the other students were more upset with the Star kid than he. He took the chance to try and fly under the radar and not make any more of a scene than he already had.

That was until the chaos started happening in the room. His eyes lit up as the crowbar flew across the room and hit the girl he had just had the altercation with in the shoulder. He wanted to laugh, but she seemed hurt, so he stifled the laughter as best as he could. He was about to get up and see if she was OK, not that she cared if he did, but as soon as he stood up something hit him in the face.

He seen the toy coming from the corner of his eye, but it was too late to react, so he just stood there and let it bounce off his face. He had seen where it had come from and he immediately turned to face the girl who had thrown it. She was a Ravenclaw and Brian did not know who she was, but she seemed pleased with herself, so he had to retaliate.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a firecracker. He then looked around until he found something that could be used to tie it to the toy. He quickly tied the firecracker to the toy she had thrown and then he lit it. He did this all while everyone was attending to the girl who had been hit with a crowbar. Before he did it he had to think about it. Was it worth it, what he was about to do?

Yes.

He lit the firecracker and then launched the toy in the direction that the girl was sitting. He did not want it to hit her, just scare her. He stared directly at her with a huge grin on his face and wondered how long it was going to be before they discovered that it was him who had thrown it.

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Artemis R. Knox Tue Aug 28, 2012 3:28 pm

Most of the class after she came in and tried to start a conversation with Amelia, Dani had just zoned out basically. She hadn't even heard what the other girl had said ... if she'd said anything at all. She'd been having this problem a lot lately, just zoning out in the middle of random thing. Not that Dani really cared, but during Transfiguration she knew she had to pay attention and she almost slapped herself for zoning out during this class. It was her favorite one after all.

She came back to reality just in time to hear the professor's instructions and she stared at the box in front of her for a moment. She saw everyone try different and probably dangerous things to open the boxes and though she would usually be up for anything like that, Dani didn't feel like being the cause of having a crowbar fly across the room and hit someone like Amelia had. She looked at the ball and said, "Permuto!" The ball changed into a key. Simple solution and usually wouldn't cause anyone any pain. She opened the box and grabbed the pygmy puff in there and showed it to the professor.

Afterwards she just watched what went on in the class. But she got the sudden urge to join in and she was glad she still had some things from Weasley's with her. Working there did have it's advantages. She smiled and searched through her bag for a decoy detonator, the only one she actually had in the bag right now. When she found it, she took it out and picked out someone to throw it at, but she just threw it in the middle of all of them, before acting like she hadn't thrown anything. Keeping a straight face was always the hard part but she tried to keep a bored expression on her face.

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Aidan Willson Tue Aug 28, 2012 11:36 pm

Aidan sat at his feral, seeing everyone else open their boxes. As son as he thought of an idea, someone else seemed to use it. He wanted to be original, not a copycat. He then remembered the potion cupboard at his parents' house. One of those must be corrosive enough to destroy the box, Aidan thought. He went through the names in his head, finally deciding on armadillo bile mix. He couldn't be 100% sure, but it was his only idea at this point.

"Permuto, permuto." Aidan repeated constantly, his wand at the ball. After about fifteen minutes of many, many attempts, the ball turned into a jar of liquid. Praying the spell had worked, he poured it carefully onto a corner of the box. It started making a fizzing noise, but the metal appeared to be disintegrating. He then carefully poured the liquid around three sides, so the metal wouldn't fall on the pygmy puff. He then pushed the metal lid up with his wand, not wanting to get any of the potion on himself. He carefully picked up the pygmy puff and put it on his desk, feeling rather pleased with himself.

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Kingsley Shacklebolt Thu Aug 30, 2012 4:40 pm

"That is correct Miss Macmillan, take ten points for Hufflepuff," Kingsley said, with a smile at the girl. Kingsley was good friends with her mother, Susan Bones, but this was the first time he was teaching her. Bones had definitely been quite good at Transfiguration, so Kingsley was quite surprised when he saw Amelia unable to open the box.

Looking around the class, Kingsley noticed that most students had successfully removed the pygmy puff from the box. He watched with interest as the first year, Aidan Willson, attempted to solve the puzzle. It took the boy a while, but when he finally opened the box Kingsley smiled at him. It was quite a feat for a first year. "Well done Mr.Willson," he said appreciatively.

That was when the commotion started.

Kingsley had expected something like this to happen sooner or later, but certainly not in the first class. He watched with a mix of anger and amusement as the children began to throw things at each other. He was unable to see who started it, but when things finally settled down, after several minutes of him shouting at the class, Kingsley only noticed Brian Sullivan wearing a big grin on his face. Everyone else looked innocent enough, and Miss Crewe was injured. He sighed and walked towards the students, wondering why on earth had he agreed to teach again this year.

"Detention Mr.Sullivan, I expect my Transfiguration students to be more serious than this," Kingsley scolded, on his way to Crewe. He examined her shoulder to see if it needed any emergency healing. "Calm down, it's not dislocated. But you should go up to the hospital wing anyway. Mr.Star, please accompany her," he said, nodding to the Slytherin, figuring this was something the head boy should do.

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Alex Star Fri Aug 31, 2012 10:32 pm

Alex had left the dimwitted brian, and went back to his seat. When there professor said there assignment, he took to doing it quickly. Grabbing his wand, and then looking at the metal ball, he remembered the spell he was suppose to use. " Permuto " He said rather softly, as the metal ball turned into a key.

Picking up the key with his free hand, and placing it into the socket, but it didn't turn. Instead it just stood there, it fit but not the right key for the job. This would not work, but he had a very good idea to get the box opened. " Permuto " The key turned into a Dagger as he gripped it, and started to pick the lock. Being taught to open locks with a dagger was his mother idea, but it was useful in these types of moments. For about 5 minutes he worked, before the lock made a snapping sound and he took out the dagger and reverted it back into a metal ball.

Using his hands, he would open the strongbox, as the toy would be right in front of him. Smiling at his success with the job, he took out the toy and was ready to give it to Kingsley. When all this nonsense started to happen, Brian was being a fool with his prank, someone was harmed and he would just start to rub his temples out of frustration.

The Headmaster spoke to him to take her to the hospital wing, and he stood up with the Pygmy Puff in hand. Walking over to his Headmaster, as he handed him the object in the box. " Yes of course I will escort her, Headmaster " He walked over to Teddy as he extended his hand out like gentlemen to take her to the hospital wing. " Lets get going and get you healed up " He said with a soft smile as to show good faith.

Transfiguration (Class 1) - Page 4 Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Bella Evans Sun Sep 02, 2012 12:42 pm

Bella was late again... she had been late to two different classes already this term, Potions and charms...

"Sorry I'm late..." she said, while twisting her blonde hair in her fingers. She saw a Slytherin boy escorting a girl outside... she moved out the way to dodge the two students.

She quickly sat down in her seat, and watched what the other were doing, she believed she had to take a toy out of a box, easy she thought.

She placed her hands on the box, and pulled the lid, but it stayed shut, she then realised she actually had to use magic, "Ohh..." she said aloud, in a ditzy tone.

"Permuto" she said, casting her wand at the ball in front of her, it caused the ball to move very slightly, she repeated the incantation again, the ball turned into an 'Unlocking worm' it slithered into the lock, and the lock pooped open, she smiled at her work, took out the toy, and handed it to the professor.
