Music to my ears

Kaleigh sighed as she stretched and walked out of the castle towards the courtyard holding a book in her hands and wearing a blue t-shirt with grey skinny jeans, her hair flowing wildly. "What a beautiful day" She said to herself as she walked on kicking pebbles every few feet. She, having great hearing, picked up some kind of sound in the distance and as she walked she was nearing it. "Hmm, I wonder." She said thoughtfully as she closed in on the sound. It was beautiful music and someone singing as well. She rounded the corner and stopped staring at a girl who had started playing a violin. She looked excitedly at it, she loved the violin and all of it's glory.

She watched from a distance, a bit shy and not sure rather or not she should approach them. She slowly crept up on them and smiled when she was in talking distance. "Hi the...there..." She said stuttering shyly. "Mi.. Mind if... I listen?" She said nervously as she began playing with her hands, one of her nervous habits.

Cecilia looked up at Jimmy as he asked if she minded if he got his guitar, “No not at all.” She said as she continued playing. Her notes were long and legato the phrases smooth and connected. Yet each were persist and strong as in a march. The music she played was light and fluffy yet foreshadowed an impending storm. She smiled softly and moved with the music until another person she did not recognize walked up to her and Jimmy. “Why not? Just another person to know my secret…” she said and nodded toward the bench where Jimmy sat. “Go ahead have a seat kick back relax. Watch the clouds.” She said and started to hum.

Jimmy quickly scurried off to get his guitar, oblivious to the girl behind him. He had never played in front of anyone before and he was nervously excited. "What is wrong with me these days? It's like I spent the last six years asleep!"

Upon entering his dorm, ignoring Pasta as she circled his ankles, Jimmy reached under his bed and brought out his guitar case. Taking a moment to open it and gaze upon it's wonderful acoustic contents, Jimmy hurried back down stairs and made his way back outside. He paid no attention to those staring at him as he brushed past, Jimmy was , for once, in too good of a mood to care about how people saw him.

Kaleigh sat down where the boy that had run off was sitting. She nervously watched the girl then looked at her surroundings her mind bouncing from one thing to the next. She always had and have has a trouble with paying attention for very long. She looked down at her book and then heard the boy return and looked towards him. She blushed slightly, she was always shy around guys. She looked away quickly trying to hide her face so they wouldn't see her blushing.

When Jimmy returned, case in hand, he was surprised to see another girl sitting where he had. "O-okay...now there's two girls...no pressure, no pressure. Just keep calm..." Taking an internal deep breath, Jimmy approached the bench and sat next to the new girl, setting his case at his feet.

"I-I'm guessing you like music too?" he said to her, his stammering betraying his earlier inner monologue. Opening his case and turning to Cecilia, "What should we play?" he asked her.

Kaleigh looked back at the boy who approached her and the other girl. She starting blushing again as soon as he sat down next to her. 'Oh god, he is cute too.' She thought to herself. 'Just stay calm, he is just a boy' she thought to herself again while trying to attempt to stop blushing. Then he spoke. "O... oh, Yea.. Yeah I do." She stuttered, but also took note that he had as well. That was a good sign for her. "I... Play guitar and... violin." She said adding on to her sentence. Then looked away as he spoke to the other girl. She touched her face and felt that it was hot. 'Stop blushing! They are going to think you are weird!' She thought to herself.

Jimmy couldn't help but smile as the new girl spoke, a slight tinge of red colouring his cheeks. "Wow, she is cute! I hope I don't embarrass myself" he thought to himself as he took out his guitar and started tuning it, slyly taking peeks at her from the corner of his eye as he did so.

"She plays guitar too!" he thought as he gently strummed the strings as a warm up and waited for Cecilia to answer him.

Cecilia rolled her eyes as the two stammered and blushed. “Whatever you want. I mean I could play whatever.” She flipped her hair over her shoulder with the toss of her head and stuck her nose up in the air as she did. “What do you think?” she asked looking down at the girl. “Oh and I’m Cecilia by the way, Cecilia Krum.” She stopped playing as she talked and removed the violin form under her chin. She was really bad at multitasking. There was no reason for her to make a fool of herself as the two before here already were. “Oh you play the violin too? The Cello is my favorite.”

Kaleigh looked up at the girl as she spoke to her. "Oh uhm, Claire De Lune maybe?" She suggested not even sure if she said it correctly but was at least please with her self that she didn't stutter that time. "I am... Kaleigh Witt. I seen you around the common room I believe. Are you not a Ravenclaw as well?" She was pretty sure that it was the same girl that strutted around the common room a lot. She was finally gaining some confidence as the her stutter started to go away. "Yes, I've been play since I was 10 maybe?" She said trying to remember what age she had started at with playing the violin.

Jimmy looked up from his guitar and stretched out his hand towards Kaleigh "The name's Jimmy, Jimmy McKenna" he said to her, smiling shyly. Realizing that he was blushing again, Jimmy turned back to his guitar again. He ran his fingers up and down the fret board, loosening his fingers as much as possible.

Taking a deep breath to steady his nerves, Jimmy began to play . His fingers slipped a few times, mostly due to nerves, but soon got into their stride.
