Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Hunting: Forbidden Forest Empty Hunting: Forbidden Forest

Post by Founder Sat Apr 14, 2012 2:48 pm

Try to keep your posts short and sweet people, make sure the ball keeps rolling and have a good time. Go with your gut with the setting, I'll prod you onto the right path if you're going haywire, but that's all a part of the fun! Just to clarify, you don't decide when you find it, I do. You can only hope to look and follow my writings (Mwahahah.) Today you're looking for a giant beetle that inhabits the central section of the forest.

In Hogsmeade at the eaves of the forest it is considerably warmer than the rest of the nation, with high humidity levels. Don't be lulled into a sense of security however, as there have been rumours that the acromantula colony located in the Forest has been migrating to a new location. For now it is safest to follow any clear path you can find into the forest.

Damon arrived at the edge of the Forbidden Forest and waited patiently for everyone else to arrive. He looked into the forest trying to find a clear path on which they can go into the forest with. Damon was wearing a jacket but because the humidity around the Forest was warmer he shrugged out of it and flung it over a stump near him.

((Sod sod sod. Need to delete Mari's post, will leave your initial post Oded?))

Jess appeared with a light 'pop' near the edge of the Forest, about 10 metres away from Damon. He was sweating slightly, the rash on his left arm had started spreading its colour, so he was wearing a long jacket in an attempt to cover the incriminating patch of skin. He'd managed to brew himself an anti-itching potion, so it wasn't bothering him at all, other than being a little bit tender.

"Hello there," he said, seriously, but with a smile on his face as he walked over to Damon. "Feeling ready to cure some diseases?" He joked, trying to hide the slight nerves he was feeling at the ramifications their job today could have

((OCC: Can you get rid of the one i had previous to yours. The one where i was talking to Mari. it won't let me.))

Damon looked over at him and said, "Hello Jess, yes i'm quite ready to cure some diseases." He smiled then took a closer look at Jess. He saw that he was sweating very badly and he was wearing a long jacket, "Jess are you feeling quite alright? Do you have the illness Jess?" Damon looked at him with worry and concern, "Jess if you have it i don't think you should be coming on the trip with us in your condition, we don't know if it will make it worse for you."

Hunting: Forbidden Forest Empty Re: Hunting: Forbidden Forest

Jess felt the smile on his face faltering as Damon spoke, turning into a bit of a frown by the end of his questioning. "Yes, I have contracted the disease... a lot of people I know have, actually. Still, I can't let it beat me. Like Robert said, we know it's not spread by contact, so I'm safe to be around. I'll manage," He said a little gruffly, wiping his nose on his sleeve and smiling again. "So, the others should be here shortly. There's a little path just over yonder that we can enter through, it looks fairly well used, so it must take us somewhere, i think it's our best lead," he suggested, hoping he agreed with him

"I'm not worried that i'll get it Jess, i'm just worried how you'll hold up in there while we are searching for what we need. You need to pace yourself otherwise you'll exhaust yourself then you'll have to stop to catch your breath. That path there will lead us to the central section of the forest to find the beetles, but stick with me Jess and i'll make sure that you don't end up on the ground cause your trying to push yourself too hard." Damon said looking at him then pulling out his flask of water holding it out to him. "Sit down and rest until the others get here."

Post by Annabella Waverly Sun Apr 15, 2012 6:02 pm

Annabella arrived at the edge of the forest wearing shorts half way up her thighs and a tank top with army boots. She had heard that it was warmer in the forest so she dressed in clothes that wouldn't make her sweat too much. She hurried to two boys sitting far off in the distance from her hoping they were her company. Approaching them she smiled. "Hi Damon, Jess." She said noticing Jess didn't look to swell. "You alright hun?" Annabella asked Jess with a worried look upon her face.

Hunting: Forbidden Forest Empty Re: Hunting: Forbidden Forest

Post by Brian Quinn Sun Apr 15, 2012 9:48 pm

Brian had loaded himself up on some of Robert's potions before slinging the pack on his shoulder. He'd packed even more of the potions inside the pack. The forest didn't bother him. Two of his estates were deep in the heart of thick, dark woods. His property didn't have the creatures that the Forbidden Forest did, so that would be differrent, but he figured he could handle it.

He ported into the edge of the forest and made the short hike to the meeting spot. He saw the others already there.

"My apologies," he said, stifling a sneeze. "Am I the last?"

Hunting: Forbidden Forest Empty Re: Hunting: Forbidden Forest

Jess couldn't help but sit there looking highly sulky as he accepted the water and took a sip to be nice - he was carrying his own water after all. He knew that Damon was caring for him, but that didn't mean that he liked it very much - no one had cared for him in years, and that was the way he'd liked it.

He was saved, however, when Annabella and Brian arrived. "Ah, good morning, lets leave," he said quickly springing to his feet and walking towards the forest path. It looked dark in there - he didn't like dark so much anymore, but it was just a forest, what could go wrong?

"Lumos," he cast as they entered, silently thanking whoever was watching over him for allowing the spell to work. "Last one in is a rotten egg," he called back, a small smile sitting on his face

Annabella sighed seeing that Jess seemed to be alright. She smiled running after Jess to catch up. She had toned out a bit at the meeting and couldn't remember why they were going to a forest but didn't want to get yelled at for asking why the reason was they were heading into the forest anyway. She silently hoped Jess would recap on the mission. "Coming? Damon? Brian?" She called out behind her as she entered the forest behind Jess.
