Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Jess nodded, that was all the agreement that he really needed for now. "Right," he said, shining the beam of light coming from his wand around them before spotting what looked like a relatively clear patch not too far away. (How convenient right?) "Lets go there, I've got a tent in my pack," he told them, pushing through the undergrowth to the spot he'd mentioned. "But lets not light any fires," he added, "the light from the tent will be enough to attract any nasties, I'm sure, I don't want the smoke and warmth doing that as well," he told them, his mind straying to all the horrible stories he'd heard about the forest over the years.

Annabella agreed with the two men quietly as she followed silently behind. She had been getting slightly tired during this whole thing. "Looks good Jess." She said talking about the clearing he had pointed out. "Good point." She said also not wanting any creature to sneak up on them unexpectedly while they were asleep. That would not be a good wake up call at all.

Jess smiled as Anna agreed with him and set about constructing their tent. It was quite tricky, he'd always found ((too many ropes and pegs and hammers in his opinion)) and so it was that after little more than a couple of moments he'd waved his wand and had the tent assemble itself magically... luckily it worked.

"Come on in," he told them, gesturing to his three companions to join him inside the magically enhanced (of course) tent, whose light was escaping through a crack in the flaps.

Inside was a not too shabby, not too spectacular little tent tent with a small kitchen, two bedrooms and a central living area found just inside the entrance.

Jess shivered a little as he entered, appreciating the warmth that was to be found inside the tent. "Much better," he said quietly, walking to the long table in the middle of the room and sitting down, drumming his fingers on its surface as he thought about what was coming next.

Annabella walked inside behind Jess and sighed in content as she felt the warmth hit her skin. Probably would have been smart to have brought a light jacket. She sat down at the long table on the right of Jess and laid her head on the table exhausted. "So just a question, as I noticed two bedrooms, Who is sleeping where?" She asked softly as she peered up at Jess not really wanting to do much movement at the moment.

Damon walked into the tent placing his back pack near the edge of the living room and looking around, he could feel the warmth coming from the area. "I'll sleep on one of the sofa's and keep watch while everyone sleeps that way it is easier." He said as he stretched then took a seat at the table next to Anna, wondering if Jess would object to him keeping watch while they slept.

Jess looked up from his thoughts as Anna asked him a question, considering it for a moment before grinning. "Well I figure we can just crash anywhere, unless you'd prefer gender specific sleeping arrangements," he told her. "There are single beds in each room - three each in this tent I believe," he added, pausing for a moment and counting on his fingers as he struggled to remember which tent it was he'd picked up - each one he had was quite different.

"As for watch," he began, looking over at Damon now, "We'll take turns - I don't want one person to be dead on their feet tomorrow - and will rotate every 2 hours - that way we all get a reasonable amount of sleep. If you like, you can take first watch Damon, but we don't need to think about going to bed for little bit. Come, I'll make us some dinner. How does Shepard's pie sound?" He asked, hoping no one disagreed for it was the only thing he could make decently without magic

Hunting: Forbidden Forest - Page 6 Empty Re: Hunting: Forbidden Forest

Post by Brian Quinn Sat Apr 28, 2012 12:52 am

"Sounds fine to me," Brian said. He had figured Michael had packed some sort of food in his pack. He had seen Michael pick up the pack this morning with his own and take them both off to the kitchen. It was hard telling what Michael had put in his pack. He half expected to find Sparks' chef sufficiently shrunken and tucked in a box in his pack. He put his pack on the table and opened it and began looking through it until he found the package Michael had put into the pack. He drew it out and opened it.

"Hm..." Brian frowned. "Why did I expect this package of rations to be different since Michael packed it? This is just...immensely practical." Beef jerky, lots of dried fruit, nuts, the little bite sized crackers that Angus had learned to make in the islands last summer, homemade granola, some fresh scones, an assortment of hard cheeses, and a large container of cookies. Michael had shrunken it all so it would fit. Looking back in the pack he found sufficient drinking water and then he heard clanking. Ah. Well, so Michael hadn't lost his touch completely. He recognized that sound. A couple of bottles of firewhiskey. It was nice to know not everything had changed.

Jess laughed as Brian asked his question. "A perfectly reasonable chain of thought to follow Brian, I'm surprised it wasn't just bottle after bottle of firewhiskey and - " he said before being cut off by the all too familiar clinking sound that accompanied Michael wherever he went.

He picked through the food, lifting up the items and looking at them curiously before settling. "Good for snacking on the track, but not exactly dinner, is it?" he commented, shaking his head as his own stomach growled.

"I should probably message the other group, huh," he added, wondering how the people at Loch Ness were doing

Hunting: Forbidden Forest - Page 6 Empty Re: Hunting: Forbidden Forest

Post by Brian Quinn Sat Apr 28, 2012 2:40 pm

"Meh," Brian shrugged. "My guess is that he was thinking of high energy foods that keep well. I did half expect to find a shrunken cooler in it with filet mignon, though. You know I'll have to rib him about that mercilessly when I get back. But, if we can do scones and fresh fruit and cheese for breakfast, we might be set there. If someone brought coffee supplies. If Michael packed anything like that he probably packed Earl Grey tea. I just haven't rooted far enough, most likely. But..wait....maybe I can be of a help if you want to message the other crew." He opened a leather bound journal with several different colors of pages and he found his ballpoint pen. He tore out a pewter gray colored paper.

"If you write your message in this paper, we can enchant the ink so that it won't be just simply discovered. Then we could use the St. Mungo's spell for paper birds and send you message. The gray color will camoflage the bird if they're still in the water. And if they're still in the water, the bird will simply wait on a tree branch until they get out. You probably should address it to someone specific so the bird knows who to go to and doesn't get confused." The paper birds landed on the shoulder of whoever the message was addressed to, so it really did need for Jess to address it to someone specific. He figured Jess was perhaps somewhat familiar with paper birds, but he didn't know if Jess knew the charm or had used it much because it was a bit specific to St. Mungos. "Could I help you prep vegetables for your shepards' pie while you're writing your message?"

Damon looked at Brian as he talked and said, "I have coffee in my satchel, it may not look very big but it holds a lot of items since i used a spell to make it hold more. I have a collection kit in there for the beetles, but it won't cause them to die or anything. They something i designed for insects that keep them alive for a very long time, but feel free to look through it for anything you need. I think i have everything minus a kitchen sink," He smiled softly at his own joke.
