During the full moon, werewolves were one of the most dangerous things that could be outside. There were still plenty of other things that were very dangerous, which made it even more of a priority to he inside during the night. Now that the moon was out, the transformations of the werewolves would begin and if they didn't waste any time, they could be inside safe and sound before their transformations were complete. It was no secret to anyone that Hogwarts had vampires and werewolves as students, and that made students even mire cautious during the full moon. Knowing that made sure that they were always inside before curfew during that night, so that nothing would happen to them. It was a good way to keep the students safe, but it was also a way to scare them so much that they don't want to come out of the castle.
The silence of the night was only broken by one thing. The pained howls that came from the students that were beginning to transform. Right now as he heard their pained howls, he couldn't help but wonder how it must feel when you transform. It was painful, but he couldn't even begin to imagine just how painful the transformation was. It had to be hard on the people who had to live like that, fearing the full moon because it caused them pain when they were transforming cause of it. In these thoughts he always wondered one thing that he never understood. He had never understood why the transformation of a werewolf was connected to the moon.
As they walked back to the castle, Atticus had his wand at the ready. He knew that at any moment a werewolf could decide to come out of the Forest and attack them. Another howl came and this time it wasn't a pained one. He knew that meant that one of the transformations was complete and now they had to be extra careful. If this one hadn't taken the wolfsbane potion, it would attack them on the spot since it wouldn't recognize them at all, as enemies or friends. Still he couldn't help but smile at the fact that the howl made Kiara jump. But another howl came and it sounded close, they had to he very careful. This wolf must he on the outskirts of the Forest, close to where they were. Atticus quickened his pace a bit to try and rwach the castle faster, his hand now gripping his hand, ready to take it out at the slightest sign of trouble.
