The First Day

Mommy's been fine," Dylan said hugging steven. delilah shook her head slightly then structured "yeah, i'm fine.. They are fine. Can we.. can we go now.. i need to get out of here." she looked at steven worry and pain in her eyes. "i need out of here now." she said frightened.

Clayton turned and watched steven carry the young boy over to his mother. "oh shit," he said his jaw dropping when he saw his old childhood friend Delilah Knight. "Lilah?" he said walking over to her. "is that you?"

"Steven, we need to go, "Delilah said pulling on his arm.

steven looaked at cdelilah then turned to the man who he'd spoken to clayton " he pulled Dylan behisnd him " stay with your mother rember what i said " he said to dylan " if i say get her to sparks i'll meet you later" he moved infront of them both " how do you know my wife?" he asked facing him his hands close to his wand ready should he attacked " you should just stand right there " he said

Delilah picked up Dylan and held him close to her tears starting to steam down her face.

Clayton stood there looking around steven at delilah and the small boy in her arms who was about four or five years old. he had to have Benn born around the time clay last saw her four years before hand. either this dylan was his or Delilah ran right to another man after the night they had shared together. "We are old friends." He said to Steven. "i knew her before her parents died. i knew her before she knew she was a witch. we were best friends." he keep looking at the little boy seeing resemblances between him and himself. the same ones that delilah saw every day.

"Steven can we please go now?" she asked

steven nodded and turned to face Delilah " sure come on " he said and started to move her out of the offices and down to the main lobby " who is he ?" he asked her " and don't say like he did a freind I saw more than that delilah" he said softly then it dawned on him as his mind peiced why he had seemed so familier " hes Dylans father, the one your scared of " he said wrapping his arms around her gently

"Clay wasn't lieing, we were friends." delilah said quietly. steven made the correct relization and she nodded. "he is," she squeaked. and set dylan down. she was shakeing so bad from fear that she was haveing problems standing up.

Clayton fallowed them haveing to know why the little boy looked so much like himself. "hey, lilah wait, i have to ask you something!" he called after them.

steven heard her and then him , he held her then tutned to face him " stay away , i advise you unless you want to face me and trust me, you do not, ask any Auror here " he said motioning around the room to the others in the room " I am a seasoned Texas ranger and Auror, stay away from my wife and my son" he said feeling her tremble he picked her up and carried her to the elevetor and pushed the button down his eyes showing his anger to him.

I just want to know how old her is." clayton said.
"That stoped being your buisness the night you left me alone. the day you hurt me." she curled into steven when he picked her up and dylan fallowed after looking back at clayton. "momma who is that man?" he asked once the where in the elevator.
"its not important right now, dylan, honey," she whispered, "mommy just use to know him." she wiped the tears away.
"why did he scare you?" dylan asked.
"honey thats ehough questions about that man." she said, "you can put me down now." she whispered to steven though she was still shakeing.
clayton chased after them.

steven placed her down but kept hold of her " I promised you , you would be safe and it till holds " he whispered to her gentlyas he felt the lift slid to a holt she knew inside he could not stop the man coming at them but he would protect his family. He watched the door slid open and he stepped out turning to see clay come down the stairs at them. Turning he took out his wand and held it lever wuth the man " you were warned back off " he said " she told you to leave her alone do you want to lose your postion in the ministry after you worked to get it ? " his eyes flashed protectivness and anger.

"I just want to know how old he is, and why he looks like me." clayton said, "i have reson to belive he is mine. he looks about four years old and the last time i saw Delilah was four years ago. after i levter lieing on the floor asleep. after i took her. i didn't use protection." he said beatting him self up for makeing the same mistake twice delilah being the second, thinkfuly the first had had a miscarrige. he had been scared the first time when he was fiftheteen.
"steven, please don't hurt him. i just want to leave. i just want to go to sparks then st. mongos for the cheek up." she said hateing seeing Steven so angry. "clay, please stop fallowing me. i have a family now and even if he was yours he's stevens now. the adoption was final a few weeks after the wedding." she placed a hand on steven, "come on," she said.

Steven looked at him again " you gave up calling your self his father when you walked away from her , deliahs right, hes my son the courts ruled in my favore " he said and slid his wand way " Clay walk away forget about him as your son you lost it years ago" he said taking Dylan by the hand and wraping his arm around Delilah 's waist leading her out of the ministry and down the alley he picked up Dylan and continued to walk " you had any cravings?" he asked Delilah trying to get her minf of clay being there at his works.
