Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Lesson 4 - Basic Level Empty Lesson 4 - Basic Level

Post by Edgar Albert Doyle Mon Nov 01, 2010 10:53 pm

Bloody hell, he came here only to be the Headmaster, and to think that he had almost been denied that promise, and now he is limping to the Dungeons to teach Potions... all over again, to hormone raging brats who have absolutely no interest in these bottles filled with colorful liquids. Yes, he had been some sort of puppet Headmaster, but he did actually have far more authority than anyone thought, which made him a powerful nemesis to those who wanted to control him, but more on that later, right? He sat on top of his desk, starting to play with his cane, waiting for the brats to arrive.

Lesson 4 - Basic Level Empty Re: Lesson 4 - Basic Level

Andrew arrived this morning carrying the last few sips of his conjured coffee in a paper cup. He just really wanted to finish it. He gulped them down just outside the classroom doorway and tossed the paper cup into the wastebasket by the classroom door as he entered.

"Good morning," Andrew said to Doyle as he went over and took his seat. Andrew actually did have an interest in potions for some odd reason, and he had spent part of last evening reading some of the off-limits potions in the restricted section of teh library. It was amazing what a whole pound of chocolate frogs could buy in here. He was starting to make a potions noteobook of his own. He left it tucked in his backpace. Doyle didn't need to know that. He merely drew out his potions textbook and the notebook he kept in this class and a quill.

Andrew's interest in potions had come from spending the summer with a potionsmaster. He loved the man's spooky looking lab. Andrew thought the creepy place was cool. He had tried to sneak into the lab behind the potionsmaster every chance he got, but the potionsmaster always caught him. He finally had started including Andrew when he went into the lab because it was easier than leaving him behind.

Brayden walked into the Potions classroom smiling ready to for class. he couldnt wait, seeing how he missed the first three class. he hoped the preffesor wasnt to mad about that. "Good morning Proffesor." he sad nodding his head at the teacher and then sitting down at an empty desk. He was more then ready to get started but seeing how there was only he and another student in the class he would have to wait. He sighed and opened his Poitions book and started studing it to perpare himself better.

Keith quietly slipped into class, desperately hoping the professor wouldn't notice that he hadn't been in the past few classes. Brewing up his little side project was taking a decent chunk of his time, and as much as he knew it was bad it was cutting into his class time. At least he had been practicing potions. That was good, right?

Right?

((I hate to be picky, but you just copy-pasted that entire post from the first post of your last class, if you can't be bothered to teach it right, give it to someone who can make it more interesting than just copy pasting classes >>))

Sam walked into the dungeon and frowned, there was a new kid here... he didn't particularly want to meet another new kid, but that was more due to his faults than a dislike of new kids in general, see, he was bad with names. Like, really bad with names, in fact he could've forgotten his own once or twice, not beyond him at all.

"Hi," he said, walking to the new guy with a smile, "I'm Sam, i'm afraid i've not seen you around here before," he said with a self-frustrated frown, "Nice to meet you," he said with a smile, before taking a seat somewhere between the three students who were there already. "Hey Keith, Andrew," he said with a smile and a wave as he pulled his stuff out, ready for the class to begin

(Oh bloody hell, you know how it is annoying when you have that bloody, but correct feeling you're being watched? Please, stop attacking my every post - I have CP-ed introductory posts for 2 years now and no one has complained, since now. I can, and as I have said via PM to someone else, change that, but I truly don't see how the introductory post can increase attendance or make the class more interesting. And about my teaching, as I have said, I do have a lot of RL responsibilities and I am still, when you compare to all the other staff members, doing the best job - some of them are still on class 1 or 2, so... do check others out, also. Kind regards, your Headmaster :-D)

''One... two... three... four, and all girls. Now, isn't that intriguing. An old man alone with four young girls... that could invoke some rumors, don't you think?'', he asked. ''Now, since there are four of you and we have two potions to complete today, you will work in groups, meaning the one group will work on one potion, and the other on the other potion. The first group will consist of the two Gryffindor girls, and the other of the two blonde girls. You two, from Gryffindor, will, as per the instructions inside the book, work on completing the Girding Potion, while the other two will, as per the book, also, work on completing the Invigoration Draught before we finish. If you have any questions, do be afraid to ask. Now, ready. steady go!'', he said, mimicking a gunshot sound with his wand.

Andrew read the potion in his book and rose and went to the ingredients shelves. He selected down, in the proper order, the dragonfly thoraxes, the fairy wings, the flying seahorses, and the doxy eggs. He had learned that doing the ingredients in the right order was also oneof those things that was, at times, not quite so random. He wasn't sure which potions were important to keep the right order and which were not, so he decided he wasn't taking any chances.

He took the ingredients to a worktable, looking at Sam. "I think we're ready. So what do you think? Should we give this a go?"

Brayden smiled at the boy he introduced himself as Sam "Hi im Brayden i missed the before classes. " he said introducing himself as well. Then listend to what the teacher had to say and looked at him confused as there was no girls in the class then relizead the teacher was being and was also insluting them. He wondered which student was his partner as two of them were both blonde and he didnt know which was the griffindor. He noticed that the one boy started talking to Sam and figured that was the other Gryffindor. He walked over to the other blonde kid and smiled "Hi." he said sitting next to him putting his books down on the table.

Xemnas entered the room quickly and quietly.Since he wasn't there in the last class,he went up to the teacher."Headmaster were we supposed to get the ingridients for this class or you already have them.Sorry I was never notified about this, and this is my first time here"He explained looking down to the floor. He had hoped that he wasn't like that teacher in the forest and had some sympathy for the new kid.

Aurora quickly came into the room and looked around. "Sorry professor. It took me a while to find my books. Apperantly someone thought it was funny to hide them from me or something." Aurora said as she nodded to the professor. She looked around and noticed she was the only girl there. that was poretty bad. she was usually not the only girl yet she wasnt surprised that she was the only girl. Potions was a pretty hard subject.
