This was going to be a Vacation

"Thanks." she replied taking it, "Maybe you're right." She held onto it tightly and closed her eyes making her wish. I wish that I could have someone who will love me and not try to change who I am. she thought opening her eyes seeing a shooting star. "Well that wish was easy enough." she smiled looking at him then back out at the ocean and then up to the sky.

He seemed unable to keep his mind off her cousin, "No he would love this I think." she replied looking at him, "He and I have always loved astronomy and astrology. Its one of our many things in common....Granted we have a whole lot of things not in common."

Daniel looked over at Christy and smiled, "It must have been, 'cause I have a feeling it might come true. I just have that feeling, that shiver of a feeling, that it just may be coming to you tonight". At the mention of astrology, he said "Brienne and I love looking up at the skies, so beautiful and bright."

At that moment, Emil came onto the beach. He held a telescope under his arm. His eyes scanned the area, and he chose a great spot for his telescope. He sat the tripod in the sand and adjusted the telescope until it was fitted right. "Perfect!" He said, he looked up at the night sky, and was amazed by what he saw. The millions of little shooting stars seemed to rain down upon the lens itself as they disappeared from view to make way for more. Since Emil was tall, he preferred to sit down while viewing the telescope.

"I hope it does." she said as her eyes seemed like they glazed over for a minute and she didn't say anything. How could she act normal having seen her wish might possibly come true. She looked up and around the area. "Well at least someone came prepared." she said pointing to the boy with the telescope. "I feel bad that I didn't even know that there was going to be a meteor shower tonight."

Emil slowly adjusted the lens of the telescope, then spun it around a little.

"Well I feel bad for forgetting about it and not bringing a telescope. It's better without a telescope anyway, since you get to see the whole thing and not just a small fraction" Daniel said, observing the brightened sky.

Emil muttered something to himself and began taking messy notes in a scribbler. He was wearing old tattered clothing, obviously a hurriedly dressed guy. He threw down the notebook in frustration, however, when he apparently messed something up.

"He doesn't look too happy, I wonder if he's okay".

Daniel went over to the other man, and they chatted for a while. It turned out that Emil kept getting a word in his notebook wrong, and Daniel corrected the misspelling and underlined the word for future reference. Emil followed Daniel over to Christy, and smiled.

"Christy, this is Emil, he's a student from Durmstrang" Daniel introduced him.

Christy looked over watching as Daniel walked over to see if the boy was ok. He did seem extrememely frustrated and must not be getting something right. She smiled seeing Daniel being able to help him and then stood up as they walked over to her. Mein Gott. she thought seeing the boy up close. They easily had to be the same age since she finished school a year early.

She held out a hand, "Hi, I'm Christabelle." she said with her German accent only slightly there. She had nearly lost it while she was in England, having gotten so fluent in English during the time she was there which made her now fluent in three different languages.

Emil shook Christy's hand, then held it for a moment to kiss it while he knelt. "I'm Emil Zukanov, you're very pretty, Christabelle". He got back up, revealing that he was about 6'7", or at least a little under easily. His brown locks settled over his olive eyes, obscuring them among practically a forest. His hand wiped the hair from his face, attempting to tuck it behind his ears. It just fell back again, but at least it wasn't that close to his eyes anymore.

Daniel smiled, "You're single, right Christy? So is Emil. I'll set you guys up on a date sometime, so you'll get to know each other a little better. I have a feeling he's the one for you!" Daniel almost squealed with excitement. He was happy that Emil would date Christy, but would Christy date Emil? Only time would tell now.

"So, tell me Christy, what was that wish that you made earlier? You didn't tell me", Daniel said, smiling.

She smiled as he kissed her hand. He was easily an entire foot taller than her but she wouldn't let him charm her, she would be the one who charm him. She was the half-veela after all. "Thank you." she said her smile sweet as she tucked a stray curl behind her ear.

She looked over at Daniel and glared at him basically saying, I can't believe you! But she was willing to date someone at this point. "You know I can't very well tell you Daniel otherwise it won't come true now will it?" She countered smirking at him. "So you go to Durmstrang?" she asked turning her attention back to Emil.

Emil smiled sweetly at Christy, then wrapped his arm around her. He was very tall, so it was difficult enough. "So, where would you like to go?" Emil asked shyly. Normally, he wouldn't be so shy, but right now he was.

Daniel peered over at Christy's negative look, "Oh, that's right. If you tell, it may not come true. I forgot about that part of the wish. But, if it does come true, let me know, okay?" Daniel hadn't meant to use this as a set-up for Emil and Christy, he didn't even know Emil until now. But, it happened. He was lucky it happened, too, because he knew that if Christy wasn't thinking about her wish and focused on Emil, then she wouldn't consider him a fraud or a liar. He hoped. Otherwise, he might have lost a friend. He shot back a look of remorse, "I'm sorry, I just thought that you two would be perfect for each other."

"Of course you did dear." she replied to Daniel looking at him trying not to laugh. "Now if only we could find you someone, or my cousin came along then it would be perfect right?" she knew she would get at him for putting her on the spot like this. She hadn't actually dated anyone in a while and wondered if she completely forgot how it all happened.

"You could always surprise me." she replied to Emil. "I haven't had a good surprise in a while." she looked up at him and smiled with her Veela charm. Normally she didn't use it at all and it was just now coming out full fold without her even meaning to. She chaulked it up to lack of attention and sighed.

"That would be perfect. The thrill of the chase excites me!" Daniel replied. He would be glad for any attention he got, regardless if it was good or bad. He was desperate for a date. He looked over at Emil, he and Christy seemed to hit it off. He didn't see a problem. He chuckled a little.

Emil stared at Christy, the Veela charm was working on him. "Alright, I'd have to drive you and blindfold you first so it'd be a real surprise. It wouldn't really be a surprise if I let you see the direction we're going in, now would it?" He turned on his charms, it may not be a Veela's charm, but he felt it was just as good. Emil tried to remember the directions to a fancy restaurant he passed on the way, and it took him a little while to do so. It was called "The Gilded Wand", and it wasn't too far away.
