The Damage Done

Jack grimaced and swigged more of the potion before standing, her legs creaking in protest. Funny, how after one battle, she could become almost like an old woman. She did not want to seem weak though, of course, so she would not sit unless it were physically impossible for her to stand.

As it was, she was feeling a little better as they went on. She wiped her face again, and felt blood on her lip. That's what she got for biting down on it so hard when she had been against Nerezza. She wiped her lips hard to clear them of blood and then sighed, finally catching her breath.

She wiped her brow, probably smearing dirt and blood on her forehead, but right now, she was the least worried about her appearance. She sniffed and said, "You guys alright, then? How about the Order. We didn't lose anybody, did we? And why was the Battle called off?" She had been in a different room, Mariana had just said something about Jess's orders. Past that, she had no idea what had went down.

"We lost," he said looking towards the ground in shame "we lost Grimmauld place and he ordered us to retreat. I just don't get it since we were doing so good." He looked back up and tried to contain his anger within him. He was sick of losing, and he felt like there was nothing he could do to prevent it anymore. Whenever he fought, he would always lose, unless it was against a lower year. He hated it.

Jack felt hollow inside and her mouth went dry. "What?" She stared emptily at Andrew, not quite understanding what he was saying. "We...We lost?" She looked over his shoulder at the wall, her eyes unfocusing a little bit. We lost the house...We lost... It did not sound like it could be true.

How could it be that they had lost. They were the good guys, they were always supposed to prevail, weren't they? And they had been doing well. How many Death Eaters had Jack held her own against. She obviously hadn't won against any of them, but she sure as hell hadn't loss. She had faced that maniac Nerezza!

Jack shook her head, anger, shame, and frustration welling up in her. It was not fair, but what did she expect. The good guys did not always win, and every body did not always live happily ever after. She kicked the chair she had been sitting in and then sent it flying. Sighing, she turned away from it.

She knew she should not get to riled, that to be efficient and wise would to be to take the loss in grace. She went over and righted the chair with a sigh. She opened her mouth to say something...anything...but really, what could she say? She closed her mouth and shook her head.

Andrew walked over to Jack and stood next to her. "It's alright," he said calmly still feeling like he had not done his part "we'll get it back. I know we will." He had not seen a side of Jack like this, and was surprized as first, and now felt even more angry. The Death Eaters had everything to do with this. It was amazing that they could take over Hogwarts and now Grimmauld Place? Nothing made sense anymore. He felt like no one was doing a damn thing and that made him even more mad. He wanted to say he would just go charging back into Grimmauld place and get it back, but he was dealing with Witches and Wizards who were much stronger and didn't have pity nor mercy. What hope did he have?

"Dont remind me" Louis said. The sence unfolded in his mind. "Hey Jack" louis said getting more mad. I AM SO ANGRY He thought trying to hide his emotions. He grabbed clenched on to his wand so hard. He thought of killng himself. He let down So many people what was he thinking about. He walked around and saw the Dementore maniquin. "All We can do is practice now guys" He said putting his hand in. He might've been e,berassed but he didnt care. "Whos with me" He said putting his hand in. They might've won the battle but they havent won the war even if.... we lost the house.

Andrew was really shocked. He didn't even if there was a word that described on how shocked he was when he heard Louis say lets practice. He was only surprized, mainly because at almost every plan or idea, he had been gung-ho about just charging in and killing every Death Eater. He turned to Louis and said "That's...a good idea Louis. We'll do that, but we also need to think of a counterattack as well." He looked back over at the Portal and thought Come on Nick, move your ass. He sighed and then looked back at the wall again, trying to think.

Jack nodded at Andrew and then looked away. She began breathing hard again out of frustration, but she made herself calm down before she ended up stressing herself out even more. She glanced at Andrew and Louis and saw them getting a little fired up too. Next thing she knew, Louis was suggesting they practice and Andrew was saying they needed a counterattack plan.

She ran a hand through her hair and felt how sweaty it was. She really would need a shower later, but she did not care at this moment. She was interested to hear what the boys were planning. At Andrew's idea about the counterattack, she said, "But I'm sure we would have to go through the Order first, eh?" She could not help but feel a little bitter. Just because they were kids, did not mean they could not change things.

She already had her own personal plan to reek havoc on the school next year. make hell for the stinkin' Death Eaters who were running the school. Did they think her petty pranks were bad now? She had already begun helping younger students misbehave. She did not care if she got kicked out her last year. Right now, victory was on her mind.

"No," he said calmly now, feeling a bit enraged about the Order right now "if we are going to take back this school away from the Death Eaters, then we need to call the shots as well. We need to do something will tell the Death Eaters that we are not afraid to get our hands dirty. We're going to do something that everyone will remember us by. I'm not afraid." He contemplated many things, it was like blue prints in his head. Most of them very dark and very evil, but so were the Death Eaters. For evil to prevail, a few good men have to do nothing he thought. He had heard that quote long ago, and now it seemed to fit very well. Fighting fire with fire was dangerous, but it irnoically put it out faster.

Jack felt a smile spread onto her face. Good. She wanted things to get done, and there was too much politics involved with the Order for anything to get done properly or at an appropriate time. She nodded, as though to second his declaration. Nothing against the Order, but it was time for the PA to take their own stand.

Jack said, "I have a few of my own plans, but those are my own personal vendettas against the school to be fulfilled. But I say, we give these crooked proffessors some hell, a taste of their own medicine." As an after thought she said, "We need to act drastically, while not so openly that they can just do away with all of us. We're no use dead and little use expelled here."

"We'll be dead before we can do the plan," he said calmly turning back to Jack "if we try anything here at Hogwarts, Majere and his lackeys will just hunt us down. I say we do something large and unexpected outside of Hogwarts, to let them know we're in the ring. We have to do this stealthily and dangerously." There were so many options to do now and so little time.
