Brian came back out and saw him rather ridiculously propositioning Ronata somehow. It made him laugh. "You got a ring hidden someplace in those trunks, or what?" he laughed. He knew he would at least earn a scowl from Steven, but he really didn't care. Steven had opened that door himself, and if he was going to give Brian an opening to tease him, Brian was just going to take it.
"Stop," Khaat poked Brian gently, laughing. "You're impossible."
"Hm..I wonder if I can still find that Tuscan portkey," he frowned, thoughtful.
"I can make one," she offered.
"No. Not you. I need both socks--they do come in pairs. You guys do know she has this little quirk that she makes portkeys out of socks? And, no. I don't have any mismatched socks. You cannot break up a pair just to make a portkey. Find something else for once. Better yet, let me make the portkey."
"Well?" Khaat said, unmoved, "What else are you going to use stray socks for?"
"I don't! Most of us toss them out!"
"Wasteful. Especially when they make perfectly good portkeys," she teased him.
