Escape to Brian Quinn's

Khaat and Brian both recognized the gestures of respect from the she wolf. Brian accio'd some beef tip pieces from his refrigerator and when they arrived, he opened the package and told Khaat they could share it as a friendship offering to the wolf. They each offered her a couple pieces of the lean beef tip meat as a friendship gift to try to convey that they understood and accepted her. Brian went a step further and conjured a large stone water basin near her cushion in the house and filled it with cool water for her, so she would have cool water to drink at her leisure.

"Okay," Brian said to Khaat, "Sit for a bit." He lowered her into one of the chairs around the pool. Khaat leaned back and closed her eyes. She liked the sun. She almost felt like a bit of her magical senses were returning. She wasn't sure. But perhaps Ne'Os spell would not hold at full strength all week. Sometimes temporary spells just didn't work at full force for their full duration.

"Khaat? You okay?" Brian asked.

"It's funny. I almost feel like some of my senses are returning," she told him.

"Good. Lets hope you're right," he said.

Cara enjoyed the beef tips ad waged her tail when the female sat down she moved to sit next to her her nose smeling the air around them , she looked back into teh house at the man she ahd become acustomed to he looked glum, glancing at the cub of Namid she moved inside to him "hey , don't be glum you didn't know" she said nuzzaling his hand " you brought me here to help and I am greatful " her ears pricked up as she herd a sound "hold on, I hear somthing" she turnd and ran out side and disapeared into the woods.

After a moment she returned a grin on her face and a peice of cloth hanging from her mouth "well thats one human who won't be sitting for a while" she said droping it on the cub of Namids knee. Steven walked out as she came back "well looks like she got a pocher Brian " he said leaning against the door frame with a smile as he saw the cloth in her mouth.

"That's fine by me," Brian said. "A few less of those around her won't bother me a bit. " He petted the wolf again. "Good job, Girl," he said. "I think Robert is working on a spell to keep poachers out I have no idea how long its going to take for him to do that."

"Daddy won't ever use a spell unti he feels its ready," Khaat said, "Whether it takes him a few minutes or a few years to develop. He has to be certain it'll work the way he wants, without negative side effects. He'll let you know when he feels its ready to try."

Steven smiled and nodded to Cara who loved the sesation of the human called brians hand on her head but moved to sit next to Steven to show she trusted him "you should have seen him run , he looked like a scared rabbit " she said Steven could not help chucked "she just said he looked like a scared rabbit " he said as he too stroked her head " good work Cara" he sid noticing how she moved closer to him and looked at Kate. He shook his head nd sat down next to Khaat "so anything hapening on the magic front I heard you say you were feeling somthing as if it was coming back " he said Cara moved to sit between them her head held up now she wore the madalion as a symbule of pride as she nuzzled the cloth on Khaats leg..

"Not that I know of. I don't have any specific knowledge. Its just that I sort of feel that some of those senses are starting to come back. I'm just starting to sense magic energies around again. Some good, some not so good. Nothing specific. But that wasn't all that different than what I felt before...."

As she spoke, Brian sprang up to attention, looking at the sky. A symbol. LIke a magical flare being released over the skies over Brian's land. "Robert! I need your help!" he shouted.

Robert sprang to his feet and race outside, his wand drawn. He looked up and saw the flare. "Oh, no you don't," He said angrily under his voice. "Finite!" He raised his wand and fired a powerful bolt of energy into the mark in the sky and dispersed it easily. He instantly began to weave heaviier protective enchantments over the property. "Steven! Get Khaat indoors immediately and put her and Abbey together. I don't know if we're about to be breeched or not." Robert ordered. Khaat wished she had her wand so that she could help to stand and fight. But now she was totally helpless. "Make sure Sophia is safe with her mother. Make sure she's not alone. But dont put her with Khaat and Abbey. Keep them separate."

steven sprang to his feet as the mark lit up the sky. scooping up Khaat he dove inside with ehr passing ajck and jessica along he way telling both of them what had happened jessica greabbed her two and ran behind him. He placed her on the bed and went quickly to the nursary picking up abby he moved with her down the corridor. He saw sophia was with her mother "lock this door and don't open it till robert myself jack or brian says its all clear got that and be prepeared" he assid closing the door quickly he headed back to Khaat with abby placing abby in her arma and drawing his wand Jessica did the same staying close to the twins.

Cara loked at the sky and tiped her head, somthing drew her to it then she saw it like a demon in the sky she gave a growl and stood up, she could tell that this thing above them was not good she stod beside the one called Robert her fur up her body tensed for any attack that might come.

Emmanuelle looked at Steven and nodded. "Ok... you, Jack and Brain be careful."said Emmanuelle told him softly before he left. Getting up Emmanuelle placed charms on Sophia's room to keep them protected against anything. "Mom what's wrong!"said Sophia weakly trying to get out of bed before her mother pushed her back in. "Get some rest Sophia sweetie, everything will be ok!"said Emmanuelle softly. "No, I want to know what's going on!"said Sophia stubbornly. "SOPHIA ANNABELLE LESTRANGE, GET IN THAT BED NOW!"shouted Emmanuelle. Emmanuelle didn't know what was going on but she wanted to keep Sophia as safe as possible.

"Kate," Robert called. Kate ran outside to Robert, her wand drawn as well. "Tell Cara to stay right beside me, no matter what she sees or hears unless you tell her otherwise. This is not a battle she can fight," Robert ordered.
Kate relayed the message to Cara, telling her the Robert was the Alpha Male here and that he wanted her to stay right beside him, no matter what she heard or saw unless they told her otherwise.

Kate taught her quickly what it would sound like to her ears to have a human, with no animal language, to ask her to come, to stay, to sit, to go, to attack, to protect, and taught her words like house and barn and things she needed to know. She taught her that human cubs were called babies, and she taught her the names of the humans in the house so she knew who to protect if need be. Kate was amazed at how fast Cara learned. It seemd that Kate only had to tell her once and Cara already put it to her memory. It also seemed, to Kate, that Cara was eager to learn about her new human family. Kate had been training animals a long time, but she'd never had one who learned as quickly as Cara did.

Meanwhile, Brian and Robert were weaving protection spells all around the property and the skies above it. "They wanted to be able to signal where Khaat was," Robert told Brian quickly.

"That's what I figured. Do you suppose they saw the start of that flare before you broke it up?"

"I don't know," Robert said. "Make sure that either Steven or Jack is with Khaat--one or the other of them. Kate and I will handle it out here til you get back."

Brian went inside and headed for Khaat's room to be sure she wasn't alone.

Cara listenbed and picked up all she was told and understood , she now knew bad humans were after the human called Khaat and she with her baby were to be protected. She moved next to the human called Robert and staid besiode him unmoving ecept for a singel howl returned but several others deep in the woods , she looked at Robert "my back up" she said almost grining as she did.,

Steven paced in teh bed room his wand at the ready stopping he glanced out the indow hapy to see cara stoiod next to Robert but was puzzled at her howl til he heard more returning, he heard foot steps and turned to teh door seeing Brian enter "don't worry shes not alone" he said to him "sopia and her mother are in there room i told them to lock the door till we tell them other wise" he was now ready for a fight.

"Good," Brian said. "Merge Sophia and Emmy with Khaat only if you have to. Robert, I'm sure, is thinking Khaat is the target and that by keeping Sophia away from her that she is safer that way. I'm hoping we got to this before it alerted anybody. I'm going back to Robert. Shout if you need a hand."

He sprinted back off to get back to Robert. He looked at Kate as he went outside. He had not known her all these years not to know when she was seeing something with her seer's abilities.

"What is it, Kate?" he asked quietly. "What do you see?"

"It's a woman. An evil woman...connected to Rob. She's hunting Khaat. She's angry. Very angry. She sent up the flare."

"She's here, isn't she?"

"I...don't know if she's on the property, but she is close. Very close," Katherine said.

"I am quite certain Robert Andrew Dent has left a lot of people angry. I am certain this is just the start of this crap," Robert said, not surprised in the least. "Give me a direction, Kate."

"I"m not sure I have one yet," she replied.
