Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Jamie headed down the sweeping lawns with a bit of toast in her hands, but she was sure she would be eating. Jamie was rarely scared but today she was downright terrified. Last game she had failed miserably and the cup was riding on this one. There was no room for mistakes now. She was at the doorway. She stood there a moment breathing deeply before entering the Ravenclaw locker rooms. She smiled when she was the first one there. Last game she had been the last. Last game she had also been a chaser. This would be her first game as a beater. Another fear of hers. Contemplating her issues she sat down on a bench and waited for her team-mates

Post by James Wake Tue May 04, 2010 11:35 am

James Wake was never one to be late. Neither was he one to be excited over the prospect of a challenge, nor was he one to volunteer for such a challenge. James Wake assured himself that, even if he did volunteer to be the captain of this team, he would not be too absorbed by it.
And yet, James did not really mind missing a day of reading to throw around a red ball about the size of his head. The only drawback was his uniform, which, by all means, was far too big for his frame. Still, James tried to make the most of it, folding the material over and over until his hand could actually reach through. Why hadn't he just used Alchemy? Well, it was too early in the morning to be practicing the art.

James had more than just his robes to worry about. He was worried about the rest of his team. He had attempted to make the most of the little time he had had, and he certainly did not believe that they were adequately prepared. For one thing, they did not have repeated practice- that would have instilled the instincts that allowed for qualified Quidditch players. For another, their beater was unpracticed- Jaimie had not shown up for practice, and while James did not hold it up against her, he certainly was not comforted by the fact.

But he was hesitant to bring up her absence as he exited the changing room, and merely sat on the bench beside her, with nothing more than "Good Morning."

OOC: Opps.. I never knew there was practice.. tee hee. Where is everybody? I usually fail at mass threads.

When Jamie saw James her heart gave a little flutter. She had blown off practice in order to try and find Albus and spend some time with him, she was now regretting this rash choice especially since she had not found him. "Hello" murmured Jamie color flooding in her pale face. She had never really met James Wake. She had heard of him, sure, but never talked to him or anything. She knew that lots of people disliked him but really hoped he was not unkind.

Post by Keith Nicholas Wed May 05, 2010 12:00 am

Keith strolled casually into the Ravenclaw locker room, his broom slung over his shoulder and his oversized beaters bat dragging along the ground from it's place on his belt. He threw a mock salute to James and nodded politely to Jamie before sitting and yawning, slipping on some heavy gloves that Amelia had put a sticking charm on earlier today. Hopefully, that would stop the bat from flying out of his hands in the middle of the match.

"So...Obviously I'm not commentating today." Keith said, gesturing towards the quidditch uniform he wore, "But for all it's worth, I would be predicting a Ravenclaw wing today."

Jamie returned Keith's smile. She had always liked that boy. Jamie was happy to hear that Keith was thinking that the team would do well. It was a good think to be hopeful but not unrealistic. After the last match Jamie was having her second thoughts about the win. Just then a girl entered the dressing rooms. She was clearly young, a first year, and it was plain to see she was terrified out of her wits. Jamie could not help but suppress a smile. At least one person was more nervous than she was. Politely she said hello to the girl and waited for the rest of the team by making pretty pink bubbles appear out of the end of her wand.

"Hello, I'm James Wake," James said coolly as he welcomed the new girl, Grace Tempest. A first year with little to no experience. He would have to delegate her the substitution spot, as he little clue about her knowledge. He was reassured by Keith and Jamie's appearance though. He was sure that they cared about the game enough to make up for his complete lack of uncertainty about this team. He had volunteered merely as a formality. Why had he been chosen?

Post by Ginevra Malenki Thu May 06, 2010 4:19 am

Ginevra wasn't too impressed with the turn-out at the practice but she had shaken it off by now. Going towards the Ravenclaw Dressing Room, she stretched as she entered and saw James, Jamie, Grace and Keith inside. Raising her eyebrow at Keith, she supposed he was the sub for somebody who wasn't able to make it to the game. Keith had to be one of the few people Ginevra didn't have a problem with, so she wasn't going to object or anything. Already changed into her robes, she gave the best smile she could force out to those around her. She wasn't that friendly of a person, no, but she was a good player. "This shall be interesting." she murmured somewhat to herself, though it was the truth. Trying to keep positive, there was no way she was going to go into the game being negative about how their team commitment was. Ginevra always went into the game thinking they had a chance. Whenever she thought they would lose, they would. It was all a mental thing that she had going on, as when she assumed that she would do bad, she did. Whether it worked that way for other people's preformance was possible, she had never spoke about it though. She was a small-group or alone type of girl, and was content that way. Sitting on the bench, she had to keep herself calm with the fact that she had noticed Grace, an inexperienced player clearly here to join them for tonights game. She would not judge. To prevent it and stay as possible as possible, she breathed and looked over at Keith. He was so adorable, he always seemed to cheer her up.
