((OoTP)) Success Party

Matt quickly got up when the smell of food hit his nostrils. He moved quickly to the table where all the food was, taking in every scent he could find. When his nose found the scent of a large plate of sausage he smiled. He grabbed a plate and loaded it with sausage. He turned to face all the other foods, "Khaat, you had to bring ALL this?" he asked her grinning as he loaded mashed potatoes on his plate. The plate was gradually getting heavier and he looked down at it, there was enough to feed him and a family of five. He looked at Jess quickly and muttered, "I'm hungry." he winked and moved towards the large table.

He placed his plate down and moved to get a drink. He poured himself a large class of firewhisky and sighed as it burned his throat. He poured himself another glass and moved back to his plate. He took the first of the roast and his mouth exploded with flavour. He then began to eat everything else, rather quickly. He hadn't eaten this good since..well he couldn't remember. "Khaat, your cooking could rival mine." he said smiling at her.

"It wasn't mine," she said. "It was Rob. He's the real chef tonight. I didn't cook a thing. He's the expert. He is the chef and the manager of Sparks, so I, basically, volunteered him for this. I can cook--I mean, really cook. But once I do, I'm never interested in eating. So, since I took a short leave from St. Mungos, Rob cooks pretty much anything we eat. Well, that does mean I hang out at Sparks a lot, though. But I don't mind. However, what does bother me is that at the rate he likes to cook for me, I'm going to look like I'm hatching a Volkswagon by August," she laughed.

jess raised an eyebrow at Matt and shook his head, deciding not to comment. Clearly he'd never tried his own cooking. "Matt?" he asked, "Has their ever been a person left living after eating your food, long enough to tell you it's good?" he asked grinning as he did so. "And thanks rob," he added, walking to the buffet and piling up his plate of food. "Don't worry matt," he said, returning to the table and sitting down. "I am too," he said with a chuckle, stuffing food into his mouth. "Isf Good!" he said, grinning a food filled grin

Khaat made herself a plate that would be an acceptable size for Rob, choosing her favorites, and took a place by Jess at the table, leaving a place on the other side of her for Rob, if he chose. Khaat wanted the pork tenderloin with the port wine sauce, the root vegetables, some of the salad. She did purposely choose punch instead of coffee with her dinner. It felt good to be with her Order family and doing something besides plotting--which always included arguing. This was different. Good food, good friends, good music. Laughter. She saw people filling their plates and seeming to really enjoy the food. She was really glad of that. It mattered to her that they could contribute in some way to the celebration.

Andrian walked into a drawing room where the party was held and smiled. He was tired, his eyes were red; work had him all caught up lately. But he knew that was no reason he couldn't spend time with his wife Bell. He felt guilty, ashamed and angry that he had made work his top priority when deep in his heart he knew that all along his top priority was Bell. Andrian scowled and winched at the thought. He never knew how much he missed Bell, it felt like a lifetime. He began to scan the room for Bell as he took his time to take in everyone who was standing in this room. Andrian wore a plain white, butonned t-shirt and a pair of torn out jeans. He saw Bell talking to his brother Jess, his heart thumped against his chest and his stomach leaped with joy and fear. He didn't know how well she gonna take this, but he knew he had to talk to her somehow so he took his step towards her and smiled.

Jess smiled as he saw khaat take her food and pointed at it with his fork. "Got enough?" he asked, hardly able to speak for the food in his mouth, breaking most of his ettiquette rules immediately. He could hardly talk, his dish was at least twice the size of hers, and he wasn't pregnant... he hoped, but he was having a bit of fun with her. "Khaat, Rob... this is bloody brilliant," he said with a smile, still stuffing his face. He then looked up and saw his brother and rolled his eyes with another smile. "Nice of you to turn up," he said sarcastically with a laugh. "Good to see you man," he said, shaking his hand and gesturing to the tables. "Dig in," he said encouragingly, returning to his plate.

Jack topped dnceing with jessica and smelt the food "Robs supassed himself yet again" he said smiling down at her , slowly he lent down placing a gentle kiss on her lips and smiled "love you" he said softly seeing the smile on her face as he said those words "I'm glad you and our children are healthy and happy" he puled her to him holding ehr and feeling for the first time things had settled , he was married to a wonderful woman and had three beatutiful children.

Khaat smiled. "Yes," she laughed, "You see, I know what's for dessert. I'm holding out for that." She knew her plate was rather small, but it would be acceptable in Rob's eyes, and that was what mattered to her. That, and she really was more interested in dessert than in actual food. And she knew Rob was getting the hang of her unquenchable sweet tooth since becoming pregnant.

Jess chuckled and shrugged, food was food, and lord knew he'd always have room for more. "Not gonna share what it is?" he asked with a mock horrified grin. "I'll just go cry now!," he said, spraying a bit of food on his plate and shaking his head. Swallowing, he said, "Sorry. I'm making a mess of myself." He then looked over at matt and chuckled. "Enjoying yourself i take it?" He asked, still laughing

Rob slipped into the chair beside Khaat’s and tried to soak up some of the praise. He was hopeless at it though. He was far more used to snide comments; at least then the quick wit that Charlotte had instilled into him would come through. Praise was a little harder to deal. Jen would have lapped it up like a cat and milk but she wasn’t there – he was. So, he had to come up with something. Quick wit seemed to have failed Rob so he could only nod in thanks. Jess seemed to be enjoying the food and Rob was beginning to wonder if he’d have to send Jess food on a regular basis. “Jess you’re acting as if you’ve never seen food before.” Rob laughed. “It’s not that good. Khaat just made it look that way. You’ve all been brainwashed by excellent design.” He smiled and kissed Khaat on the cheek, draping his arm across the back of her chair as he did so. “And no, the dessert will be a surprise.” Well, the desserts would be a surprise. Rob had made more the necessary but he was glad there was an array. The cheesecake wouldn’t last five minutes if his wife had her way.
