A night out (Varod)

When they had made it to Louisiana, Ash jumped off the broom a little tired from the flight. She wasn't used to flying brooms much anymore but loved being on them. He didn't even scare her when he did dare devil things on it. She would just hold on tighter and laugh about it. "So this is it huh?" she asked smiling as she stretched her legs out on the ground.

"Yep," Varod agreed. "Over there is a Horshoe casino, and we're next to a Bass Pro Shops Sporting Goods. We need to go through this clothings store..."
He held her hand as he led her through the store and out onto the boardwalk. Several teens were here and he saw a young boy and a slightly older boy. He made his way towards him.
"Hello!" he said brightly. "Uh...I haven't been here in forever. Do you know where the map is?"
The younger one nodded. He had black hair and was wearing a yellow coat and jeans. He pointed and Varod thanked him.
"My name's Varod, by the way. This is Ash."
The other two introduced themselves as Cody and Corwin. Varod led ash over to the map. "Where to? Movie?"

"Oh wow." she said as they made their way through the bass Pro Shop. She hadn't seen something she had thought as strange in her life, and she had to contain the laughter that was about to burst out into. Ash wasn't really paying attention to him talking like she should have been she was too busy watching people pass them by. She was used to hanging around muggles growing up but she had never seen them dress the way some of them were there. "Oh what sorry I wasn't listening." she said the color of her cheeks changing again.

Varod laughed and decided on Joe's Crab Shack.
"We can eat there. It's pricey but hell, I got the money," he commented. "Then we can go catch a movie, I guess."
He held her hand and walked towards the Crab Shack. "I love eating here, best crab in northern LA."
He kissed her cheek.
"And you know you like my kisses."

Ash looked at him. "That sounds fine to me." she replied looking at him. She couldn't help but blush and laugh when he kissed her cheek. "That might be so, but I'm not one to be easily won over kisses and dinner." she replied looking at him. It had been true. She had not been the type of girl to give it up easily no matter how hard they would try for it. "What movie?"

Varod grinned.
"I'm not trying to win you," he informed her truthfully. "I'm trying to be nice tonight."
Then he shrugged.
"Whatever movie you wanna see...MMM that smell is so GOOD!" he said as they entered the crab shack. They went up to the person and the clerk took them to a table for two. "Two sodas, thanks," the waitress ran off.
"You wanna get a crock pot for two? They have like two types of crab, some potato, corn-it's really good."

"Um I guess." she said as the waitress walked off with their drink order. "I'll eat pretty much anything.." she trailed off. "Wait I thought vampires couldn't eat food." she said with a confused look on her face. Her tone was low so no one would pick up on their conversation but she wasn't sure if he could or not. "And why are you being so nice to someone you've just met?" she asked looking at him. She wasn't used to that.

"Where did you here that? We just can't suck animal blood. So, I can't it steak rare. Only regret. Oh, and the dead bodies are nasty..."
He shuddered and laughed.
"Well, I'm not like other people. I don't treat people like shit if I don't know them.,"Plus I think you're really cool."

She couldn't help but laugh. Of course it had been a silly thought that vampires couldn't eat food. "I don't know I just thought was all." she said blushing sheepishly. "I'm glad you aren't like other people. Everyone is over rated anyway." she continued to say. "You really think I'm cool?"

Varod smiled and ordered the crock pot and held her hand over the table.
"Of course I do," he said quietly. "But...after tonight I have to explain some things to you. About me. The vampire thing is the least of my problems..."
His face fell as the events from the past year attempted to come rushing back to the surface, then the grin was back.
"But for now let's have fun, kay?"
