Welcome to Potter's Army

And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

N.E.W.T. Class - Lesson 5 Empty N.E.W.T. Class - Lesson 5

Post by James William Wilson Sat Feb 20, 2010 12:34 pm

Wilson entered his new office. Wasn't that strange. He always thought that he would have that lovely and comfy classroom he had before. This new classroom was a nice change. He wrote today's title on the board and, since they had not text, he did not write his usual note. He sat down and waited for the students to arrive.

Arthur entered the DADA classroom and was extremely happy to see Wilson there. This was the subject he was best at, and the subject he wanted from the beginning. He took a seat and greeted Wilson.

[[OOC:I assume this is after the battle? If not tell me to edit the post..]]
Mariana's mood was changing very often these last days. One day she was depressed and the next she was already angry at the entire world. She walked inside the classroom murmuring something that sounded like "Morning Professor..." and sat down in the most distant corner of the classroom trying to avoid whole world if possible.

Julia skipped into the classroom, feeling very bright and awake this morning. She looked around the room, seeing only Arthur and Mariana. She looked over and saw Professor Wilson sitting down. "Morning Professor Wilson" She said with a smile and found a seat in the room. She hoped that today was going to be a good class.

N.E.W.T. Class - Lesson 5 Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class - Lesson 5

Post by Amelia Lyons Mon Mar 01, 2010 1:08 am

Amelia yawned just before stepping into the Defense Against the Dark arts classroom. It was still early in the morning, but already this morning she had gone for a five mile run and attended another class. She knew that between her extra curricular activities, academic pursuits, and pleasing her parents she was spreading herself rather thin, but there wasn't much that could be done about it. Academia and her parents were not about to lower their expectations, and the extra curriculars were the only things that helped her keep her sanity.

As she entered, Amelia noticed a spattering of students who had arrived earlier than she had, but not having a particular fondness for any of them - she wasn't particularly fond of many people, come to think of it - Amelia chose a seat off to the left side of the room. It was probably a good thing that the chairs were so uncomfortable in this room; is they were, Amelia likely could have fallen asleep right then.

This is going to be a long day... Amelia thought as she pulled her books and writing supplies from her bag, organizing them on her desk before pulling a battered copy of The Thirteenth Tale from her bag and beginning to read from where she had left off.

N.E.W.T. Class - Lesson 5 Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class - Lesson 5

Defence against the Dark Arts. It was a subject that almost made Dora laugh out loud. If Defence was that good then she wouldn’t have been in the position she was in and obviously her father wouldn’t be dead and left to rot somewhere. Yes, she found that the dark arts would be far more useful. The only downside was that when you fought fire with fire you always seemed to get burned. This was problematic and caused Dora more grief than needed. She just wanted to sleep for the rest of eternity and wake up in a world better than this. Sadly that didn’t seem to be happening any time soon, though.

She opened the door of the Defence against the Dark Arts room and slipped inside, making sure to close the door behind her. There were quite a few students already there and that was something Dora was thankful for. She didn’t want to have to slip into uncomfortable conversation with the Professor. Heck, she didn’t even want to try and have a conversation with anyone let alone the professor. Answers were kept short and questions weren’t asked, that was the easiest route to take and the one Dora frequented.

Slipping into a seat near the back, Dora took a small ballerina model out of her pocket. She set it down on the desk and twirled her wand above the model. Instantly the ballerina began to dance across the desk and Dora smiled to herself before taking out a few books that she thought might be needed. The bag that housed the thick tomes was far too heavy for the young, underfed redhead but she seemed able to handle the weight that would make anyone her size crumple to the floor. There were some days where she thought she could do the same but she persevered.

Wilson raised his head. Good morning to you all. Mr. Poe, it is a pleasure, as always. Miss Diggory, you are in your usual female mood. Sad.'', he commented and turned to the others. ''Miss Lyons, once again, a pleasure to see you in my classroom. And now, for the two of you - your names, houses and years. I do not know you. Oh, just a note - I will not remember your names, probably, but it is courteous of you to state them, anyway.'' , he added.

Mariana ignored Wilson's last comment. She didn't even want to yell at him right now so she just rooled her eyes and continued sitting taking out her books for the class aswell ask ink, quil, piece of parchment and her wand.At other times she would least make something explode, but now she was too motionless to do it.

N.E.W.T. Class - Lesson 5 Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class - Lesson 5

Post by Landon Rooney Tue Mar 02, 2010 12:04 am

Landon couldn't necessarily say that he was looking forward to class but granted that there was nothing else he would be doing otherwise he tried not to let it get him in a bad mood. Normally classes didn't really take a toll on him but as of late they had become the bane of his existence. Any time he did well in a class, his parents thought he should pursue it to career levels. For most subjects, he couldn't imagine having to deal with them after school, so he tried to take his parents' opinion with a grain of salt.

He opened the closed door which led to the classroom. Why on earth was it already closed? A swift glance at his wristwatch assured him that he wasn't late. He headed towards one of the empty desks in the middle of the room. There were quite a few people there so far and it seemed as though the professor was attempting to make small talk with the students.

He began pulling things out of his bag, one by one. His parchment, quill, ink and book were spread out on his desk. Landon hoped that the time would fly by in this class. He was itching to get outdoors; the castle walls were beginning to give him a headache.

Wilson turned to the new one entering the classroom. ''What is this today? Bring your unknown friend to class? And who are you?'', he asked looking at him.
