Team 3 vs. Team 4

Bane saw Ben's spell at the last second. "Protego!" He yelled. And a shield blocked Ben's spell. "Got to give him credit, he's good, Bane thought to himself. He moved to his right, yet, as he planted on his right ankle, he experienced an almost unbearable pain. Damn, thats a burn to brag about. He thought. "Tarantallegra!" Bane shouted. The spell wasn't forceful, but Bane knew to win he must distract Ben, inhibit his movement, do something to upset his dueling balance.

Mariana covered her head stepping back blasting the rock with Bombarda charm knowing that she didn't need a protection charm aswell.She did have a few skratches on her right hand and her face though it was nothing serious. "Averte Statum!!" she yelled sending it towards James after using her sleeve to clean up the skratch on her chin. "And for desert! Petrifikus Totalus!" she added raising an eyebrow.

Bombarda - Used to blast the frozen rock
Averte Statum - Throws opponent backwards
Petrifikus Totalus - Freezes (immobilizes) the opponent for short time (15-20 minutes)

James considered straight out of the way as the rock exploded. He knew having a giant frozen rock over him was going to be a liability. But if he jumped right into the open without protection, he'd be even more screwed. So James accepted the pain as a necessary cost of battle. Let her think she's won, was James thought. He let himself be buried in glacial rubble, but he curled himself into a ball as the rock exploded. The flying rocks threw him off balance, but because of them, the two spells missed him. As he laid, covered in rock, he considered send a reactionary spell at her. But James was smarter than that. Doing so would surrender his position. He had to ignore the blood flowing down his forehead, glistening as it left a red trail. He had to suck his pride up not to attack. Not to react.

Mariana looked as James fell down.She sensed she over reacted with the distructive spell though she was always on guard.She put hands behind her back and hid her wand in her sleeve where it couldn't be seen after which she approached to James. "You alright?" she asked shaking him not really sure whether to get him to Hospital Wing or try a spell or two on her own that would heal him.

Petrificus Totalus, murmured James as he spun his wand directly to her chest, as quickly as he could manage. Such was the way James did something. He used his head. He used his body. He did not rely on spells. Now he had enough ammo and enough energy to make do with the second opponent. He did not feel sorry on playing on the girl's sensibilities. He was a fighter. He did what it took to win. And when he couldn't, he'd go down with his opponent.

Petrificus Totalus: Paralyzes and petrifies the opponent for a moment. Usually half an hour to forty-five minutes.

Mariana felt all the weight of James's spell as she fell on the floor and couldn't move. She could only think,but not move. "That's what you get when you try to help.." she thought for herself not really able to do anything else. "I hope Dane will remember to fix me so i can fight back.." she thought just staring at the ceiling like a statue on the floor.

James took her wand, and put it in his back pocket. "Nothing personal. I don't intend to lose just yet," he said to the girl, but he then cast Incarcerous. Why would he leave the girl to recover? She was a seventh year. A smart one. A good fighter. Not worth the risk. He turned to Bane and cast a Flipendo at him. Two against one? His kind of odds.

Bane turned as Mariana attempted to help James up. Oldest trick in the book, yet it was so deceptive. Bane pointed his wand at James, but James attacked first. "Protego!" Bane yelled, reversing James's spell. He knew it would be almost impossible to beat James alone, but James and Benjamin? That was even a greater challenge. Yet, he knew he couldn't give up, that wasn't part of being a Gryffindor. He was supposed to stand and fight. And fight with honor.

"Stupefy!" He said.

"Stand aside Ben- I'll take him on alone. Tricks aside," James smirked as he readied his wand, and flicked aside the Flippendo that had rebounded off of Bane's shield. "Expelliarmus!" he called out in return, announcing his attack, before casting Protego to halt the Stupefy Bane had sent in his direction. This would be a simple one on one battle, if Ben stayed out of the way. Either the boy would stand down, or he would do something really stupid. Either way, James would not interfere. He could not afford to babysit a first year Hufflepuff in the middle of a battle.
