Valentines Day Dance! - Page 8 Empty Re: Valentines Day Dance!

Elizabeth laughed and held up her hands in protest at Julia’s offer to find her someone to dance with during the slow songs. “I’ll be fine. I’m really content with just people watching at this dance. Thank you though,” she replied with a smile. A chuckle escaped when Julia mentioned how much she hated dances. “Couldn’t agree with you more. I’m not even really sure why I’m here. But if you hear about anything going on afterwards, make sure to let me know. I’ve been dying for something crazy to do,” she commented truthfully. School work had been consuming her life as of late and she was ready to have a little fun.

The Ravenclaw raised her left eyebrow when Melanie leapt forward and kissed Scorpius on the cheek. She shot him a suspicious look before greeting Melanie. “Hey Melanie, your dress isn’t so bad either,” she replied, refusing childishly to give her an outright compliment. The whole rivalry mess sometimes stopped her from being cordial. Elizabeth shook her head when asked if she and Scorpius were at the dance together. “No, no, no. He’s here with Julia,” she answered, indicating the Slytherin girl whom Melanie seemed to have forgotten to greet. It was rude of her but Elizabeth wouldn’t put anything past Melanie. Turning her attention towards Julia, both to be nice and to spite Mel, she commented, “Look at that couple dancing,” she pointed towards the dance floor at an anonymous couple, “They’re practically stepping all over each other,” she laughed. Really, the two looked like they shared four left feet. It wasn’t a pretty sight.

Valentines Day Dance! - Page 8 Empty Re: Valentines Day Dance!

Post by Landon Rooney Mon Feb 15, 2010 6:24 am

Shrugging his shoulders at Sophia he commented, "Search me. I have no idea why everyone actually recognizes the blasted holiday." Landon had to roll his eyes when Sophia began yelling at a random couple whom was publicly displaying their affection. She was always one to call people out...that was just the way she was. He wasn't sure whether he would actually go to this party or not but it was tempting. He hadn't heard of anything else going on. "Sure, I might swing by if nothing more interesting turns up," he teased her. Landon let out a dramatic sigh of relief when she said she didn't have a date. "Good, I wasn't really feeling up to interrogating anyone tonight," he replied with the traditional Slytherin smirk.

"Eh, but we generally don't wear our hearts on our sleeves like women tend to do," he retorted, somewhat seriously and somewhat jokingly. After taking her out to the dance floor, the two fell into a steady pattern with one another. Landon rolled his eyes at her question, "You know I've never been anything but the perfect gentleman," he answered, chuckling at his own joke. Turning the joke back around on her he asked, "And when did you become such a lady?" Honestly, she had always been polite when she needed to be, she was a little rough around the edges in his opinion, sometimes she was a bit too outspoken for her own good. Landon laughed at her comment. "Well, it looks like I'm just winning the women all around with my charming personality." He had never really bothered to pursue any girl, much less changed his personality for one. There were times where he thought he wouldn't mind dating someone but other times he was quite sure that he was happy being alone. "So what's been going on with you lately?" Generally the two kept on close terms, speaking frequently. However Landon had been rather busy as of late and hadn't really had the opportunity to speak with her until now.

Jess thought for a minute. "She's cracking onto me," He thought to himself with an internal grin. What an odd turn of events this was. He'd come to the dance looking for a good time with some friends, but now he was talking to a complete stranger. "Remy," he said softly, a thoughtful look crossing his face for a moment. "French?" He then inquired, shaking his head a little to get back on topic.
"Well," he began, "I'm just here looking to have a good time, meet some people. Lord knows i don't get out enough," he said with a smile. "All in all, there's no intention, just talking for the sake of it," he told her

Landon Rooney wrote:Landon Rooney really wasn't the sort of guy who would go out to some Valentine's Day dance by choice. But his parents had made him promise to go, something about making a good impression to his elders and such. He never really bothered to question their antics and they had sent him a new suit. How could he say no? It was a simple black pinstripe suit from Italy with new shiny black shoes to match. His parents had sent him a red tie but in order to not be outrageously cliche, he donned an aquamarine colored tie instead. He had toyed around with the idea of trying to get a date but decided against it. He didn't want any girls getting the wrong idea by inviting them to an event on Valentine's day.

Valentine's day was a holiday founded upon commercialism and hopelessly desperate and romantic females. A male was forced to buy their female counterparts roses or chocolates or something else even more ridiculously expensive on one day every year. What was the point in that? Couples fought for reservations at the most upscale of restaurants, scoured the stores for the perfect present, it was far too much work without any true reward. It was not that he was against the idea of love, though he had never experienced it, he was just against the idea of love having it's own holiday. Couples had anniversaries, birthdays, and things like that which would give them time to dote on their lover. They didn't need another day on top of that.

Besides, girls seemed even more aware of their singleness during the approaching days. They were more like creatures of the night prowling upon single men - or that's what he'd seen around school the last few days. Or they were too depressed about having no one to spend the day with that they looked as though their parents had been killed. It was all rather pathetic in his opinion. But here he was, taking part in an event which supported that blasted holiday.

He took a deep breath before walking into the room. There was already a fair amount of people here, his cousin Sophia was thankfully among them. He was glad to see someone he knew. Striding over towards her quickly, he hardly noted the other people she was standing with. "What's up Sophia? You look nice," he told her politely before turning towards the others and giving them a brief nod in greeting.

Sophia hugged Matt and gave him a soft warm mile to tell him she was here for him no matter what happens.Sophia knew he looked happy on the outside but he was dying in the inside it was like Sophia can read him like a book. "Hey Sammy, you look so pretty!"said Sophia smiling hugging her. As she seen Andrian she gave him a oft warm smile and waved at him. Sophia looked around her Nikki but didn't see her anywhere in the crowd. "Where's Nikki at? Uusally she will never miss a dance even if he dateless!"said Sophia softly

Sophia saw her cousin and nodded. "I'm doing alright, don't really want to be here but I have nothing else to do and thanks I must ay your look nice as well."said Sophia looking around the place. Sophia wasn't a person who did Valentine' s Day he thought it was a stupid and pointless Holiday in her book. Seeing couples being all lovely dovey to each other made her sick she wasn't urprise she already left. "What are you doing here Landon, don't you usually avoid this Holiday?"Sophia aked him smirking. ophia knew her cousin pretty well, and he knew he wasn't the type of guy who went to dance.

Sophia couldn't help not to laugh at her cousin for she thought it was rather odd he was here when he usually avoided dance like this. "Bored like I was, or are you scoping out the girls?"Sophia asked him mirking them laughing. As she looked at Matt she could tell by the look on his face he wasn't really having a good time when made her feel sad as well for he wanted him to have fun. "I wish I could find mom for him, he look so lost without her."said thought to herself sighing. As she took a drink of her punch she wallowed and sighed starting to think going to this dance was a bad idea.
Sighing, Andrian watched as Garulia walked of with girl and as soon as they were out of his view he saw Sophia waving at him. He laughed and smiled, waving back at her it has been a long time since he seen her; he couldn't remember the last time he saw her but that didn't matter she was here now, happy more than ever. Then he looked around, wondering where Belle had been, had he not been romantic enough and scared her off.  He sighed - in defeat, scratching the back of his neck as he made his way up to Sophia. "Hey Sophia and --"  he paused as soon as he saw another guy next to her. "I guess your Sophia, valentine now?" he asked with a smirk on his face taking his gaze from the young boy onto Sophia.

Valentines Day Dance! - Page 8 Empty Re: Valentines Day Dance!

Post by Christabelle Whittle Mon Feb 15, 2010 2:28 pm

Christabelle made her way into the school. It was the first time anyone other than Soph, or Varod had seen her since she had left. She felt slightly awkward, being back in Britain without her cousin being there. Much less in public without him watching her. She noticed some people she knew but not too many yet, not that she had been paying attention. She realized now that she could have chosen a less noticeable dress since she didn't want all the attention for once in her life.

The white dress was one she had purchased upon arriving back. The thin straps gave it that almost strapless look and it clung to her body in just the right ways. Her blonde hair was down and in soft romantic waves. Even though she hated this holiday she still gave it a chance. She spotted Matt and decided to go greet him since he had no idea she was even back.

She nervously made her way up to him and tapped him on his shoulder. At least she still had one cousin left there, she thought sighing. "Matt." she said looking at him once he turned around to face her. "I'm back."

[Yikes this is getting confusing.]

Scorpius knew very well what Melanie was doing, he also knew that she knew that Julia was his date, not Elizabeth, yet she was completely ignoring her. That was just how Melanie was, but it was still quite annoying. Still, he was glad and surprised at how easily Julia had taken it. He watched the look that Elizabeth gave him but only shrugged, not knowing what to say to that. "Umm hi Melanie," he said stiffly. They weren't exactly great friends, but he did have a crush on her and they had done some.. stuff. "No actually I'm here with Julia," he replied. "Have you met her before?" He was quite sure they had, they were in the same year and the same house.

Abbey was sitting chatting with Gar and his friend when she noticed someone who looked familiar enter the ball. Abbey peered closer, not being able to get a full on view of who it was because of the dark lighting. She stood up and started walking towards the figure. Finally, Abbey got a view of who it was...."Christy!?" she screamed. Abbey ran over and enveloped her sister in a huge hug. "Where have you been!? I've been so worried!" she cried.

Valentines Day Dance! - Page 8 Empty Re: Valentines Day Dance!

Post by Elijah Krum Mon Feb 15, 2010 10:27 pm

Valentine’s Day was definitely single’s awareness day and Eli was feeling the brunt of it. He’d gotten a letter from his father instructing him to attend the Ministry Dance just to show that the Krum family were still high on the social ladder or whatever he’d said. Apparently he had to be well dressed, clean shaven and his hair had to at least be tidy. Alright, so Elijah had gotten two out of three but at that was better than none. He wasn’t clean shaven but he was well dressed and his hair was tidier than it had been in a while. He was proud of his outward appearance and didn’t mind flaunting what he had once in awhile but this was ridiculous. He felt like one of those tiny dogs that airheaded Muggles liked to dress up and put in bags.

That night, Elijah had walked into Hogsmeade and used the fireplace in the Hogshead. Thankfully, there weren’t too many people milling around when he appeared in the flames. He knew he was late but he remembered his father telling him something about how being late was fashionable. Elijah didn’t really understand the point but he was late anyway just to inconvenience everyone.

He’d come dateless though – that was a problem. He knew he had probably made a mistake by showing up without a female on his arm. Eli wasn’t stupid though. Women were attracted by wealth and good looks, it wouldn’t take him long to pick one up. Walking into the main room, Eli saw just how far the Ministry took the event. It was insane, he had to actually choke back laughter it was that cheesy. Then again, people enjoyed this type of stuff – the cheesy romance was hard to avoid. He now understood why he hated the colour pink with a passion. It was really too much for one’s eyes.

He cast his eyes across the room and his eyes fell on Julia who looked as if she was ready to kill someone. Although this wasn’t something anyone could see by just a glance, Elijah knew her well enough to see she was pissed off and not just over trivial things. Someone was obviously going out of their way to irritate her. He couldn’t really grasp why though; she looked beautiful. Her dress hugged her curves expertly and if it wasn’t the fact that she was like a sister that he actually liked, he wouldn’t have been stood there by the door with his jaw on the floor. Well, it wasn’t literally on the floor – that was unbecoming of a Krum. You couldn’t really show any emotion you just had to have a certain amount of sex appeal and enough money to get you by. Apparently that was what made up a Krum.

Eli made his way over to her and he noticed with a smile that she’d picked something that stood out amongst all of the bloody pink. Black was the saving grace amongst all of the pink and red. He caught Julia’s attention and smiled at her. He noticed Elizabeth who he’d seen a few times in the halls but hadn’t spoken to and a girl in his house that looked like a wall feature in that bloody pink dress. Malfoy looked uncomfortable enough. Elijah snickered a little and composed himself as he moved to stand in front of Julia. He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed the back of it, keeping his eyes on her face. He released her hand and smirked at her.

“Ma chérie, you look magnifique!” Eli said, turning on the charm and speaking in a very heavy French accent. He wasn’t being serious but she did look brilliant. He took her hand again and spun her under his arm, fully appreciating Julia which was more than Malfoy was doing. He kissed her cheek and smirked at her before leaning forward to whisper in Julia’s ear. “You rival the little chit, Julia. Don’t let her ruin your night. She’ll get stuck to a wall by a maintenance worker who thinks something has fallen off.” he said, referring to the awful pink dress that looked like it had been made out of one of the tablecloths.

Elijah pulled back and straightened up. He looked over at Scorpius and narrowed his eyes. The boy was being an idiot and should have brushed off the blonde. If need be Eli would take her off of his hands. She wasn’t an eyesore and had a nice figure but the dress had to go and he didn't care where it ended up -- there was only so much pink the Krum heir could take. “Would you mind if I dance with your date?” Eli asked, putting emphasis on something that Scorpius had clearly missed. “You’re obviously busy.”

Valentines Day Dance! - Page 8 Empty Re: Valentines Day Dance!

Post by Alana York Mon Feb 15, 2010 11:55 pm

Julia smiled as wide as she could when she saw Elijah walk through the doors. He looked so handsome in his suit, and he looked very clean and tidy, something she didn't see often on Eli. He was like her brother, and she loved him, but he looked so wonderful tonight, almost ten times better-looking than half the other boys in the room. Julia could tell that Elijah knew that she was pissed. Not only was she pissed at Melanie, but she was also upset with Scorpius. He could have at least said something to Melanie or imply for her to stay back a little. When Elijah made it over to the table, he commented on her dress in the heaviest french accent she's ever heard. Julia could tell that Eli was trying to make Scorpius jealous, because she knew that Eli would never treat her in the actual "girlfriend" way, they were too close for that.

She held back from giggling as Elijah kissed her hand, "Porquoi, je vous remercie monsieur." she grinned. Julia spun with him and smiled as he kissed her cheek and whispered something into her ear and chuckled. She kissed his cheek also and whispered: "I'll try not to let that bombshell ruin my night, he's paying more attention to her than he is to me..." She pulled away and held on to his arm, looking down at the trio.

Julia had looked at Melanie with a disgusting look, just to emphasize that she clearly did not like her at all. Melanie was nothing to Julia, and if Scorpius chose her over Rose or Julia or whoever else he had his eye on.. well, that's his own fault. She held back a smile as Elijah put emphasis on the word "date", quite clearly, Scorpius hadn't been paying much attention to that. Julia knew that her and Scorpius were going as friends, but even then he wasn't treating her as a friend. He simply complimented on her dress then immediately started talking to Melanie when she walked over. "I'll be back, though" She stated, making sure that Melanie still understood that Scorpius was her date for the evening.
