waiting for babies

"I refuse to let you eat just lettuce, Khaat Katrina, "her father reprimanded. "I would be more than happy to babysit your teenagers tonight, or your mother would, gladly, while you sit here and debate on dinner." "I'm going to eat, Daddy," Khaat laughed, "I promise. You know I love Mom's chicken stew." She looked at Jess, "You see what you're in for until those babies are born?" Khaat laughed. "Can you blame us, Khaat?" her mother asked, "You need your own bodyguard to protect you from some of those chances you take. You listened much too much to Remus for your own good. Now its time to pay attention to that child you're carrying...." "Katherine," Robert said, gently, "I will have a talk with her young man and get him to stick a bit closer. And don't forget, I'll be at St. Mungos now too. That will help." He sat down beside Khaat at the table.

Jessica grinned taking a plate she took some of the stew and with jack folowing as she sat down she smiled at Robert "ow Khaat we need to dicusse dress color, i like a deep red what do you think, my buquet is red roses" sh said watching Jack make a mental note and she smiled , taking some of the stew she ate she didn't realise she was dso hungry till her plate was empty and she still had room for more " please can I have some more?" she said in her best oliver impreshion.

Jack sat watching her as he ate some stew , it really was tastyand he found he ate it supried when she asked for second helping he could not help but laugh at her oliver impreshon glad now she was smiling as was he and not worriing "hey , you have any more you'll burst... oops sorry" he said realising what he'd said.

Jessica looked at Katherine then she heard Jack turning she put on the most childish pout "hey, no piking on the blimp" she said laughing with him as she poked fun at her self .

Khaat watched as her mother helped Jess to a second helping. Khaat was glad to see her eating again. Khaat was glad to see her in good spirits again. Jess's energy signature was better again. She didn't know how her father did it, exactly, but she was glad he had. She knew that her health and the babies would be drastically better now. She might even be able to walk down the aisle at her own wedding.

"I think red is great," Khaat said. "Didnt you say you wanted gold trim? If its done tastefully, it could be very elegant. And what about your cake? What do you want to do for that? Did you have any ideas? Oh--and are you sure you want me to match your bridesmaids? Are you sure you don't want me to be in red, but perhaps different? Just checking. I don't want to mess this up."

Jessca smiled at khaat as she ate "Humm gold trim sounds nice, well the brids mais will bbe in a rich red so if we add gold to your you won't blend in" she said continuing to eat.

Jack smiled as he listened to her taking about the wedding "Leave the cake to me I have an idea for that" he said watchng as jessica lent over and kissed him again, he couls not get enouph of her kisses or the feeling of her against him.

Jess smiled leaning over she kissed jack before turning back to Khaat he hand resting in Jacks "ok cake is down to Jack , Robert quick worn the hospitals" she said to robert then chuckled he felt jack poke her " am not making it I know somewhere i can order one" he said he saw a smile on jessicas face "I know hun, what ever you chose will be lovley I know it" she rubbed her thumb over his wedding finger and looked at him lovingly she could not wait to become his wife "ow... my wedding dress, its still at the shop, gessthey will have to let is out now" she gave a soft laugh.

"Don't forget we're wizards, Dear," Katherine laughed. "We have no excuse why we can't tailor it expertly ourselves. And maybe you should use gold ribbon with your roses to add some elegance. That might be nice. Are you really sure you trust Jack with your cake?" She laughed. "And what about your reception? What kind of reception do you want? What do you want to serve? A meal? Just cake and ice cream? Have you thought about that?"

Jack sat agast , jessica laughed at his espreshion "I was thinking along the lined of a bufet come barbaque, you know kinda giving them the choise of what they want " she brushed hr hadn over Jacks cheek "yeah, i do trust his judgment " she said moving to rest against him "but everything else its down to us girls" she grinned

Jack smiled as she rested against him his arms instinktivly wrapping around her as he spoke again "ok everything else you Katherine , Khaat can handle " he said resting his hands on her belly and feeling a burbaling frominsde "hey fells like their blowing boubles" he said turning to Robert "is that normal?" he asked jessica laughed as she ffelt the tickling from inside her "I guess they liked Katherine's cooking " she said grinning again.

"It's normal, Jack," Khaat said. "They're just getting more active, that's all. Sounds to me like they're happy little kids, that's all. I think a buffet with a barbeque is a good idea. I'm sure we can get someone to do that. That shouldn't be an issue. I hate to leave you all, but I do have to at least get home and check on my kids. I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow. " She rose. Her father rose with her. "I'll take you home," he said gently. "I can do it, really," khaat said. "Humor me, huh?" He asked. "Okay."

Khaat gathered her things and said goodnight to all, and let Robert apparate her home to check on her houseful of teens.

Robert wished Khaat wasn't caring for all these young people by herself while she was pregnant. She had been fortunate so far to not have one sick day. However, he felt it was soon going to become too much for her, with her full time work at St. Mungos, subbing at Hogwarts, her work with the Order, the Wizengamot, and also now wanting to open a restaurant. He was concerned she was way over extending herself. She had to pull back someplace, and soon.

He decided to stay at Khaat's long enough to be sure that the kids were fed and at some point were safely in bed. Once that happened, he made sure Khaat was also safely in her room and on her way to bed. With all that done, he made a complete check around the house and laid even stronger protections around her house, with a special provision that if anyone even thought about disturbing khaat's house that night, it would awaken him instantly. He apparted back home, hours after he had taken her home, thinking he was going to have to talk to her about moving her kids and herself to Cornwall until the baby arrived or until Rob had more time to take care of his new family.

jess laughed "Their happy all right, feels like their playing in there "she said as the bubbaling tickled her from inside soon it subsided and she smiled "you staiying tonight?" she asked Jack but she knew the awnser before he spoke she let her hand rub his stubbled chin "oow you need a shave " she said resting her hed gainst his chin.

Jack smiled seeing jessica laughing, when she was happy so was he. He rubbed her belly and felt the bubbaling stop under hie hand but replaced by her hand on his chin he looked down at her as she asked if he was staying "I would love to but I can't the baby sitters leaving for her vacation tonight, so I have to go back, I'll bring Andrew with me tomorrow to see you. "

Jessica smiled and nodded , she understood . With a wave of her hand she suddenly held a light blue bear "here give him this from me and don't fo get the cuddle too" she said holding jack tight.

Jack took the teddy and slipped it into his pocket it looked funny with its head poking out at them. Soon he had to go, he helped Jessica back to bed and pulled the covers over her "you sleep and the next thing you know I will be back "he said leaning forward to kiss her fore head holding her against him "i'm happy your back" he whispered.

Jessica sghed as they moved up the stairs , sitting on the bd she then realised just how tired she still was and slipped her legs under the sheet , raisng her arms she smiled as he tucked the blankets around her "you better jack black heart and with our son" she said smiling as she felt him kiss her , s she lay down she watched him and heard him say he was happy she was back "me too jack me too" she said as she slowly felt herself sigh and fall asleep.

Jack staied till he was sure she was asleep with a gentel kiss on her lips witch she gave a soft "Mumm" to that made him chuckle silenty, he slipped from the room and headed back down to the kitchen.

ooc: i'm going to pick this up the next morning. this day is winding down fast.

Khaat woke the next morning and saw that her teens all had plans for the weekend with friends and were abandoning her. She was happy they had lives of their own. Or at least social lives anyway. Khaat gathered up her two muggle cats and Archangel and apparated back to her parents house early. No one was up yet. Max and Mo knew to just make themselves at home, and so did Archangel, so Khaat never worried about them.

Khaat started tea and coffee. She loved the rich, full flavored smell of fresh brewed coffee first thing in the morning. She noticed she wasnt feeling as well today, for some odd reason. She didn't know why. She felt draggy and tired. She went to her room and freshened herself up for the day and changed into more comfortable clothes. Jeans and a longsleeved pink flannel shirt, that she rolled the sleeves up on, and found warm socks and some comfortable shoes. Then she started to hear her father stirring around in the house. He always rose first. She didn't know if Jess was awake or not yet, and she really didn't want to wake her if she was still sleeping.
