Khaat Lupin's Country Home

"I want to meet with you all tomorrow. I want to set some ground rules, just so you know. And the more you hone your seer's abilities, the more useful you will be in protecting your new family. I want you all to start studying Defense Against the Dark Arts stuff forwards and backwards until you act out of sheer automatic instinct. I'm going to ask Rob to help me do, basically, a boot camp so you all always capable to taking care of yourselves. Remus taught me the same way, and I swore I would let my kids live a more normal life. But desperate times call for desperate measures. You will end up being a whole platoon of Lupins, and dark arts followers will know better than to mess with any of you."

Garulia laughed at the use of the word "platoon."
"We have half of a platoon here in this house, actually," he informed her happily. "That actually sounds like fun."

"I always enjoyed the dueling games I played with Uncle Remus. I will try to follow his lead and make it fun. I don't know how much Emily knows about dueling, so we might have to give her some extra attention. Miseria has a lot of courage, so she'll pick up fast. I already know where you stand. And I do have some more things I can teach you. I deliberately want them to know where you live and who's training you. It may help keep you all safe. And I have some secret plans to teach you as well. Hopefully they will help if you ever get between that famous rock and a hard place."

Gar grinned.
"Like the Simpson Movie?" he joked. "It sounds like a load of fun."

"Sort of," Khaat laughed. "You realize there are few wizards who would understand those muggle references. But I like them, actually. Some time we'll each have to pick our favorite muggle movie and show these uninformed wizards about the wonders of muggle cinema. Complete with either popcorn or nachos and such. I think it would be more fun to watch them trying to understand the whole concept of a movie, probably more than the movie. We ought to set that up--just so you and I can have a little fun watching them dealing with it." She laughed thinking of how a little bit of a prank could be a lot of fun.

"Now, THAT is more like it," Gar said, then burst out laughing and stood up. "It's getting late, I think I'll go to bed."
Walking out the door, he head in the direction of his room and plopped onto the bed, passing out within five minutes.

Khaat laughed, and decided she was tired. She also decided to go to bed, and fell asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow, dreaming of Remus again. A part of her hoped he would give her some sort of wisdom that she didn't believe she had for herself.

The next morning, Gar got out of bed and went to brush his teeth and take a shower and then got dressed. Then he went and knocked on Khaat's door.
"Hey Khaat, you up yet?"

"Yes. I'm up and awake. I'm just putting my shoes on. Come on in." Khaat was sitting on the sofa in her sitting room. She was dressed in comfortable clothes that were slightly oversized and a light weight sweater that had long sleeves pushed up to 3/4 sleeves. She was putting on a pair of sneakers. She had laid out her favorite suede jacket, and she had both her wands laid out on the coffee table. Her's, and Remus's. Beside those, she had laid a medium sized red velvet drawstring back. "I think I'm ready. Let's get everyone else up and go get some breakfast."

Garulia walked in and leaned against the wall next to her, smiling broadly and feeling rested.
"Well, aren't you the mother in an old Christmas movie!" he teased playfully. "I'm half-expecting you to pull out a plateful of cookies! But yeah, let's go get them up!"
