This wasn't the first time that Hallie was visiting the Lupin's safe house. When she first discovered of her pregnancy Hallie had, only days later, helpes rescue Khaat Lupin from the lightless cell where James Blood had imprisoned her. That day had been a stepping stone for Hallie, a rather large one at that. Seeing Khaat sacrificing her own warmth to protect her children, seeing the new found bond between Mother and child had made the blonde's decision about her own pregnancy much easier. She decided to keep the baby, entering a new path in her life.
The new path wasn't much different from the one she had been travelling. Hallie's initial worries were that becoming a Mother would take away her chance to become an auror, a good auror. Thankfully she qas mistaken, so much so that only the other month Hallie had finished her auror training pre maturely and on this trip to the Lupins she would be returning as a fully fledged auror.
It appeared the ministry weren't the only ones who had faith and believed in Hallie's abilities. Jack Dyllan had stepped down from her position as Leader of The Order Of The Phoenix and had selected Hallie to rise and step into her shoes and lead the faction. In spite of being pregnant and being a fulltime auror Hallie had accepted the challenge. Had you told Hallie she would be in this position a year ago the blonde would have laughed, felt flattered but laughed at the idea. Why? Because up until that point nothing had ever gone to plan in her life: her Father had died, her brother had been bitten by a werewolf and vanished from the face of the earth and Maura had been mutilated on a trip to the shrieking shack.
That evening in the shack had been confirmation to Hallie that she was on the right path to consider a career as an auror. She was bold, brave, fast on her feet and a natural born leader. Granted at the time her wandwork was a bit patchy and the Gryffindor was reckless beyond imaginable but training as an auror and joining the Order had allowed her to grow. She had learned a lot the past year and was eager to share that and utilise it for the greater good.
Checking her watch Hallie took a breath as she reached the top of the hill. A week ago Hallie had written to the Lupins asking for a meeting, no doubt they knew she was the new leader of the Order but a little chit chat about her life wasn't what Hallie had requested the meeting for. There were more pressing issues like the marriage law, changes within the ministry and the rouge werewolf pack that was still at large. Marcus Belby had agreed to meet her atop a hill on the outskirts of the village where her Mother lived in Cooper Cottage. She was a minute early, which made a change as she never had been one for punctuality at Hogwarts. Then, a minute passed and Marcus Belby came into view.
(Ooc: Hey Khaat sorry its late. I did intend to start it when I woke up this morning but when I clicked send my phone lost Internet connection and I lost it. Sorry!)
