"Diyanne? I ran into her not too long ago. I met her only briefly, but I can try to find her again. It might take awhile, so you'll have to be patient. How do I find you when I find her? Where are you staying?"

"You're living on the street?" Khaat frowned. "How old are you, anyway? Where, for example, did you stay last night?"

Khaat sighed. "Okay. Let's see if I have this right. You don't have a place to stay, but you're not living on the streets. But yet you were out all night, in the middle of the night, with death eaters out every place. That's really not good. You can stay with me until I find Diyanne on the condition that you don't do anymore of that staying-out-all-night jazz. And I might ask you to help with a chore or two in exchange for your room and board. Deal?"

"Come with me, and I'll show you where I live," Khaat said, getting up. She collected her pound of coffee from the clerk and waited for Emily.

Khaat took her to the cobblestone house she owned behind Honeydukes. "I live here with my daughter, Miseria, and another young houseguest like yourself. His name is Garulia. They're both your age. Your room will be upstairs. First door on the right--has green drapes and a green bedspread. Gar's is across the hall from yours. Mine is next door to yours. Miserias is next to Gar's. The bathroom is at the end of the hall. Oh, and the orange tabby cat is Mo. The white one is Max. They're both muggle cats." She showed her around the house. "I expect you to make yourself at home," Khaat said. "Dinner is at 6. We're having pot roast, salad, and quadruple chocolate brownies. There is plenty of food in the kitchen for lunch if you haven't eaten. Help yourself."
