Varod raised his eyebrows.
"Uh...issues?" he asked, not being able to surpress the smallest of smiles.
"Well, when you're done, you can have an apple if you want."

"Sorry..." she said bursting into another fit of laughter. "Its...just.." she couldn't help but laugh now. It had been so long since she had truly laughed that she had forgotten what it was like, "I haven't done that in forever." she said finally calming down. "And thanks." she said to the offer of the apple. "I think I forgot what it was like to laugh."

"Now I know you got major issues," Varod said, dropping on the couch and yawning. "I'll grocery shop tomorrow, I guess. You're welcome to stay the night, but I wouldn't subject a pampered princess to this run down appartement."
Once again, perfect seriousness.
He turned on the T.V. and tried to find something to watch.

"But yet you didn't subject to me and you sleeping together in a run down mansion." she pointed out looking at him as she sat down on the couch next to him. "You know you can't help where people are born. Its not as great as it seems."

"Heh, okay, I didn't subject to that for one reason: hormones."
Varod couldn't contain himself any longer and he fell off the couch rolling around with laughter.
When he had recovered slightly, he crawled onto the couch and sat back down.
"Lord...I needed that."

Christy couldn't help but laugh at his comment. She couldn't help it. It made a thought cross her mind, "So are you saying your whole relationship with me was based on hormones and hormones alone?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "I'm sorry I wouldn't ask but I need to know."

He conjured some more root beer and took a sip.

"Nothing." she said looking down. She realized for the first time in the last few weeks Nick had been missing that she hadn't been wearing her engagement ring. She had been looking for him but no sign so far. "Everything is completely fine." she continued lying through her teeth.

"And you think I'm retarded," Varod muttered. "Don't tell me what's wrong but I see it in your eyes. You're afraid and uncertain. Have fun with that."
He conjured up a recliner, lifted her into it with magic, and laid on his side.
"That's better."

"I'm not afraid." she said looking at him seriously as he placed her in the recliner. "And maybe its because my life is completely falling apart right now. But if I remember I didn't come here to talk about that." she spat back at him. She was getting more and more confused by him by the second. One second he seemed like he cared and then the next it seemed as if he didn't give a damn if she fell off the face of the earth. Yet at the same time she couldn't bring herself to leave the apartment..or him.
