"About five hundred inferi at once, and more coming in," Varod replied. "The ring is just because I thought you would like it. You wanted me to pop the question, didn't you?" he teased playfully. "You even EXPECTED it, probably been hoping I would forever now!"

"No." she said looking at him, "I have no desire to ever get engaged again...much less married." she said looking at him seriously. Even though she loved Varod she knew she would never marry him or most likely anyone else for that matter. That notion died along with Nick's disapperance.

"Marriage is overrated," Varod told her, shrugging. "Get over the other dude and move on. You did that easy enough with moi."
He shrugged again and slipped the ring onto her finger.
"Well? Do you like it?"

"Yeah I do." she said looking at him. "I did move on didn't I?" she asked looking at him. "I just found that I no longer have the desire to get married any more because of it. I have a useless wedding dress in my closet that I'll never wear, all these dresses I had for my sisters to wear and no father to give me away anymore." She said lookin at him. "Doesn't that alone give anyone enough of a reason not to want to go through something like that again?"

"Truthfully, I have not a clue," Varod started. "I have no reason to think about any of that. Marriage is more of a weakness than emotion. I don't plan on ever settling down. I'll stay with you as long as possible, but don't expect me to settle-anywhere."

"Wow your perspective sure as hell changed." she said looking at him. "Wasn't it a few days ago you wanted me to run away with you?" she asked curiously. "Because I remember that was the case."

"Would that be settling? Nope. It would be adventure, fun," Varod said, a fire burning in his eyes. "You and me running away together doesn't sound too bad, nor does it sound like settling down. I'm happy you like your present."

"Yeah but me and you would have ended up settling down somewhere and you would have gotten bored then and left me admit it." she said looking at him. "I'm glad you found something like this. "I need to find out what kind of stone thats in it." she replied.

"I could never leave you!" he said, feeling betrayed. "And how can I help? I wanna find what stone it is, too!"

"Um I don't know." she said looking at him, "And how do you feel betrayed?" she asked him curiously. "You're the one who said you didn't want to settle down but wanted me to run away with you. You know what I said was true. Eventually we would have settled down somewhere and you would get bored and then what would you have done?"
