Varod stood.
I'm here! the voice said, as the doorknob turned and the man from before came in with a new body...
"Damn you," Varod said to him. "Go burn in Hell!" He whipped out his wand and pointed it at the man.
This is who I am, he thought with lucidity. I don't need people...I just need me...that's how it's always been...
"You finally understand...but that makes my job harder, because you will be stronger..." the man said softly before lunging at Varod. He dodged and jumped on the man's back.

Christabelle jumped up looking for her wand or her dagger, or something in general that she could use. She remembered she was still wearing the pendant that Dae had given her. The sword was still at the confederacy. No matter...She had reached her dagger having to hike her skirt up a bit and aimed throwing it at the man's head.

Varod knocked it away.
"This is MY battle, stay out of it," he told her, wrestling him to the ground.
"Congrats," the man said, then removed his cloak...it was Varod.
"Who-"
"I am your ruthlessness, you fell too far in love, I had to do something, you gained it back. Just do your normal thing and don't become so squishy."
The ruthlessness disapeared.

"Ok so you have a dapple ganger." she said looking a bit perplexed, "Or better yet and anti-thesis." She looked at him on the ground by himself trying not to laugh since it was truly a funny sight to her to see something like that.

"Like I said, it was my fight and I ended it dammit..." Varod stood and took a drink from his coke.
He was back and happy, but he knew how to hide it.

"And? Your point would be?" she asked as she walked back over to the couch and sat back down changing the channel. "I'm just a little on edge and someone's anti-thesis busting down the door I'm going to do something."

Varod sighed.
"What are you goin to do?" he asked her, rather bored. All the sadness was gone. He couldn't care less if she never dated him again.

"What do you mean?" she asked looking at him. "I planned on spending the rest of the day here unless you had other plans. I mean you did invite me over after all.

"You said you were going to do somethin, wanna elaborate?" Varod said. He popped his neck and laid back with his feet on a foot stool.
"I'm tired and bored," he sighed.

"About someone busting down the door." she said looking at him as if that should have been the obvious answer. "You know me. I've changed a lot while you were gone. I'm not the same girl you left behind by any means."
