N.E.W.T. Lesson 2nd

Christabelle walked into the DADA classroom and sat down next to her cousin. It was one of the first classes she had attended in the past week. "Morning Delk." she said as she pulled out her books and parchment and a quill.

Belle watched as more and more students joined the class and was content to stay to herself at a table just before the back row. She was still a little embarressed that she had missed the first class, but hoped she would be able to jump right into the swing of things today.

Amelia watched as the classroom progressively filled with students. Unlike some of her fellow students, she had not announced herself when she came into the room. Preferring the silence that allowed her some degree anonymity, Amelia took a seat in the middle of the classroom and forewent taking out her schoolbooks, knowing they were easily accessible in her book bag when the time came to take notes.

Instead, Amelia took the opportunity to observe the conversation around her. She did not make direct eye contact with anyone, but she listened in on the buzz of conversation. Amelia knew bits of information about her classmates, though she had never formally met any of them. The amount of information one can gather with a closed mouth and open ears was sometimes astounding even to Amelia herself.

Ami waited for class to start impatiently, she looked around to see all the students pile in, she noticed another Slytherin that she had seen around, he had come in late to the last class, she thought he was pretty cute, Ami got up and walked over to him, "Erm...Hi, you're Godric right? I um.. Just thought I would come over and say hi since you're in basically all my classes." She gave a warm smile and extended her hand, "I'm Aminia."

Gabrielle looked as the classroom was relativly full. "Good morning to the rest of you that have arrived." she said taking notes again before she gracefully stood up and took her wand from her pocket. "I think we can start." she said pointing wand at the black board. "Today's lecture is...."


she said as the words appeared on the board.She put down her wand and looked around the class. "But since we are going to be practising on boggart this time let's remember what we need.Who can tell me definition of a boggart?" she asked scanning the classroom.

"A Boggart is a shapeless creature that, when in the presence of someone, takes the form of the person's biggest fear thereby ultimately weakening him emotionally. It can easily be defeated by the Ridiculus or any other defensive charm", Arthur answered the question.

"Actually," Amelia began, surprising herself with her willingness to speak up, but knowing now that she had started it would be embarrassing to retract her words, she continued, "although my classmate is correct in most of his definition, the boggart is not necessarily shapeless. Boggarts are shape-shifting creatures, but that does not make them shapeless. One might argue that a boggart is shapeless when it is alone, but because of their shape-shifting ability, no one has ever seen what a boggart looks like when it is alone, which means it may or may not retain a specific shape."

Her addition made, Amelia took a deep breath to steady herself. It wasn't often that she spoke in class, although she knew many of the answers. She tried to avoid eye-contact with her classmates for fear that any of them might look as surprised as she felt.

Godric noded to Chirsty, then smiled at Aminai, Nice to make your aquanticne. he said before the teacher had started talking. He took her hand and kissed it on the top in a courtly manner. He had seen her around, like every where he was in this school. He laughed to himself. We have all the same classes don't we? he asked sweetly. She was beutiful, for a non Veela.

As the teacher started talking he smiled. This was one of his favoirt Defense spells. He listined to the deffinition and dispute of what a Boggart was or wasn't with a smile of mischife. If any one were to see his darkest fear they wouldn't realy know what they saw. He had been hoping to go up against Dementors again, like he had back at Durmstrang, but oh well. He raised his hand and waited to be called on.

Ami nodded and blushed slightly pink as he kissed her hand, "We do," she raised her brow, "or at least I'm sure we do." she gave a nervous smile. She turned her head as the professor began to speak, when she mentioned Boggart she got a look on her face, her worst fear was something she hadn't talked about to any one. Ami turned back to Godric, "Well, it was nice to meet you." She gave another smile before she turned to take her seat.

''Depends on what you consider to be a shape. The fact that it can shift shapes does not necessarily mean that it has a shape of its own. It has a shape, a shape it takes. But it has never been proven that it has a shape of its own'', added Arthur.
