Sneaking out of the Feast (Nick) - Page 6 Empty Re: Sneaking out of the Feast (Nick)

Nick’s eyes widened in shock as she told him that she had never been to Diagon Alley before. Nick knew she had just transferred but still, that was usually the first place anyone wanted to visit. It was a brilliant street for Wizarding produce, book’s, wand’s, racing brooms they had everything. Personally Nick preferred Knockturn Alley but there would be nothing for Christabelle down there. It was full of dark magic shops and people Nick considered interesting. If they went down to Diagon Alley Nick could replace his ruined robe at Madam Malkins and there were plenty of shops to buy shoes, depending on Christabelle’s tastes they could shop in the Wizarding area of London or the Muggle part. They would probably have enough time to grab something to eat while they were out, something that Christabelle actually wanted to eat. Smiling he asked "Would you prefer shoes from Diagon Alley or a Muggle shop? I dont know where you get your type of shoes, so Ill let you decide."

Hogsmeade was indeed rather boring, once you had seen it there really wasn’t anything new to be found. It was a small Wizarding village not far from the castle, that was why it was so popular, if Hogsmeade was in London, no-one would be interested in it. Nick nodded when she said that Diagon Alley was the place to go “Indeed, Hogsmeade is nice in the winter though it does get boring. Its good for the lower years, they have joke stores and sweetie shops but Im not really interested in all that stuff. I mean I send a bag to my little sister at the end of every month but that’s the only reason I visit them. She is two you know….” Nick liked talking about his younger sister, she was a lovely little girl and the only reason he really went home for the holiday’s. She would be in bed now, fast asleep and dead to the world, probably dreaming about princesses and castles she was so cute. He snapped himself out of these thoughts and continued “While we are in London we could look for a French restaurant? See if we cant get you something nice for lunch. What do you think?”

"Either one is fine with me." she said not picky about it. Besides muggles did have nice clothing and shoes that she tended to keep up with their fashions because she liked them better. She perked up when she heard he had a little sister. She didn't have any siblings but had always wanted one to spoil and pick on. "Thats sweet." she said, "You know that you do that for your sister. I'm an only child so I wouldn't know what it was like..." she trailed off.

"French food is alright but I much prefer German anyday!" She exclaimed. "Besides you should try german food if you haven't. Its delicious!" she said looking at him, "But other than that it sounds like a plan."

Sneaking out of the Feast (Nick) - Page 6 Empty Re: Sneaking out of the Feast (Nick)

A lot of people thought the thing’s Nick did for his younger sister were sweet, the two were very close, indeed he preferred her babbling company to that of his parent’s. Nick did not think much of it, he believed it to be any older brother’s duty to spoil his sister. He could tell that Christabelle was slightly upset by the fact that she had no-one to spoil and protect her, the way she just trailed off oozed dissapointment. It was a shame and Nick had to stop himself asking whether or not her cousin did those thing’s for her. He just remembered what her cousin was like, protective yes but nice, hardly. It was a shame, had Nick not had his sister he would have felt somewhat empty, he tried to cheer up Christabelle “Having sibling’s is over-rated, you have to give thing’s up for them and you need to share your parents attention, sometimes unfairly.” He smiled, this was true though Nick did not care at all, the less attention his parents showed him the better, perhaps that’s why he and his sister got on so well. Nick stroked Christabelle’s shoulder soothingly and added “Tomorrow Ill show you what its like to have someone spoil and do sweet thing’s for you and I promise I wont take your parents attention of you.” He smiled.

Nick refrained from asking exactly what German food was like, opting instead just to smile and nod. If she really wanted it then he would eat it too, he couldn’t imagine what it was going to be like, having to eat food that she didn’t enjoy for a year. Nick would just suck it up and eat it even if it was horrible, though he was sure it wouldn’t be “German food sound’s good, Im sure there will be a bunch of German places around town. We will shop around for the best one and you can have one last decent meal before having to put up with Hogwarts cuisine.” Nick laughed a little at Christabelle, she was the first person he had met who complained, it was odd and highlighted the differences between the other countries in the wizarding world. Nick hurried an apology “Im sorry, I’ve never known someone not to like our food. What time do you want to head up to the castle? I don’t want you losing out on beauty sleep on my account.”

Christabelle looked at him surprised to hear what he had said. That was the one thing she wanted was less attention from her family, "Well thats how I would have wanted." she said, "I feel suffocated around them...The only reason they didn't have another child was because they figured I was such a genius that they should focus on me more." She smiled sweetly as he talked about spoiling her, "Well liebe it'll kinda be hard to spoil someone who is treated like a princess." she teased while somehow managing to be serious at the same time. She was the princess in her entire family, and had most of them wrapped around her finger when her cousin wasn't around to call her out on it.

She looked at him curiously. He had thought she was complaining. She wasn't..it was just the fact that she was used to being at home every night for dinner and somewhat missed it having gone on holiday just before leaving for Hogwarts. "Its not that I don't like it." she said looking at him, "Its just that I was gone most of the summer from home and I miss the food is all." He seemed worried about her getting enough sleep. It was cute, she thought trying not to laugh, "Most of its meditation actually." she said looking at him, "Though if you're tired we can go back to the school...It is a bit chilly out here." She was trying not to look freezing but she felt chilled to the bone out there as another gust of wind hit them and their wet clothing even though the rain had stopped.

“Well its not the same, being spoiled by your family and being spoiled by an admiring boy. The difference is I don’t have to, I want too. You have had a pretty lasting effect on me, I really like you.” Nick said. He had never been spoiled during his childhood which is why he enjoyed spoiling his sister. It made him feel good about himself so it wasn’t a burden, he got an odd satisfaction when he brought strong emotions out in people, whether they be love, or hate. Besides, perhaps if he showed such an interest in her, she would do the same. It was around this time she explained the food situation. “Ah", Nick replied. Well that made sense, she was missing home and the food reminded her of it. This revelation made Nick all the more determined to find a German restaurant of some sort. Though if she missed her parents could she not get in contact with them? Perhaps she did but it wasn’t enough “So how do you keep in contact with them? Your parent’s I mean.”

Nick tried too warm up Christabelle as the gust of wind caught them, he snuggled a little closer to her but Nick wasn’t particularly warm either, it was better than nothing though. It had seemed like a good idea when they were in the classroom, coming outside, though now Nick found himself wishing he was inside and out of the rain. He shook his head smiling as she asked if he was tired “I’m not tired at all, I’ve spent the entire summer holidays sitting up till four in the morning most nights so Ill probably have some trouble getting too sleep. It would be nice to get into bed and out of the cold though.” Nick smiled cheekily then rose to his feet, he could see how wet they had both become and Christabelle looked frozen. He helped her to her feet “I guess its about time we headed back to the castle, I don’t want you catching anything on my account. You look frozen, best get you inside.”

Nick knelt down to gather up his mud covered robes, they were only dirty on one side though so he folded them and placed them over his arm. Not stopping to ask this time he gathered up Christabelle once more in his arm’s, determined to take her all the way to the castle. As they two made their way across the grass Nick laughed a little “Must be great being you, getting guys to carry you around and do what you want just by smiling at them. Do you get big strong boy’s to carry you about often.” Nick joked? There was just enough time for Christabelle to answer his question before they were once again back on the path, two seconds later they were dripping all over the marble floor in front of the staircase. Nick didn’t really want to put Christabelle down “Why don’t I just carry you all the way to your common room?” He said smiling sweetly but teasing at the same time. A quick glance into the great hall through the slightly ajar door would reveal that the sorting had come to a close, the desserts were on the table’s and Nick estimated he had fifteen minutes till he needed to be back to do prefect duties.

She blushed a little when he said that he liked her. She was used to getting attention but not attention like this. She didn't quite know how to react to it. Then he asked about her parents. She was used to not seeing her father for days on end, him being a Minister of Magic and all. "Well I don't think my mother and I quite worked out how we were to stay intouch." she replied looking at him. "See my mother is a professor at Beauxbatons so I was able to go home every night. I'm used to not seeing my father...him being the German Minister of Magic and all...But I think we're going to stick to owls for now." She smiled, it was sweet he was concerned about how she was staying in contact with her parents.

"Is it that obvious?" she asked looking at him as he got up about her being frozen. "But I think you're right." she said as he helped her up. "A warm bed and dry clothes would be a good thing for both of us...If you got sick you couldn't do any of your prefect duties." she said smiling. She didn't protest when he carried her having been shivering anyways and with her nestled against his chest it gave her some warmth.

Once they reached the castle she smiled. "It would be nice since I have no clue where it is." she said glancing through the door about the same time he did. "Though wouldn't it be awkward if I was there before everyone else?" she asked laughing a little.

Nick smiled down upon her as she reminded him that this was her first night in the castle, well then, he thought. It was a prefect’s duty too help out and he wasn’t missing this chance to gain some extra credit from her. Ravenclaw’s resided in one of the towers not far from the Gryfindors, Nick knew his way around pretty well so it wouldn’t be a problem “Ill take you up then, see if we cant get you first choice on the beds in the dormitory.” Nick began to walk up the marble staircase, Christabelle still in his arm’s. It wouldn’t take too long to get there but in the meantime Nick had a few ideas for her. Keeping in contact with her parents through owl’s couldn’t be easy, having to write the letters and send them off to different countries would be a pain. Two way mirrors were great for such situations “Christabelle you should invest in a two way mirror, for you and your parents. They are a much quicker form of communication, especially when you are talking to someone from a different country. We could have a look around Diagon Alley when we go, they arent too expensive either which makes them even better.”

Nick and Christabelle ascended the staircase as far as it would take them. Portraits gawped at them as they walked by but a few of the female characters smiled. Nick couldn’t help over hear a pair of ladies having tea “Awh” they explained “Young love…” Nick blushed a little and smiled at the ladies, as they continued walking. Looking at a smiling Christabelle he laughed a little then spoke “Crazy pictures, sometimes I wish they couldn’t talk. You don’t get any privacy in this castle, ever.” This would be something she would have to get used to, always watch your back when telling someone a secret in these halls.

As they reached the seventh floor Nick took Christabelle up one of the tower staircases, stopping in front of a large door with a golden eagle knocker. Seeing a look on Christabelles face he hastened to explain “Ravenclaws don’t use passwords, seemingly answering the riddle presented to you correctly is enough to gain you access. Ravenclaws are supposed to be very logical so I guess it makes some sense…” Nick’s voice trailed of as the eagle spoke “There are four brothers in this world that were all born together. The first runs and never wearies. The second eats and is never full. The third drinks and is always thirsty. The fourth sings a song that is never good.”

Nick placed Christabelle on her feet in front of the knocker, he wasn’t great with trick questions, Nick liked facts, he stared blankly at the door, hoping Christabelle had a better idea of what the thing was talking about than him. “See what I mean…”

"Alright." she said smiling as they moved up the stairs, "A two way mirror?" she said curiously, "I think I might have one of those somewhere actually. I just never use it." she thought about where she had put it. She was fairly certain that she had gotten one for her birthday but couldn't remember if it was her cousin or aunt that had given it to her. She knew she had used it to keep in contact with her cousin when he was at Durmstrang but other than that she would have to write to find out if it was at home.

"Well at least talking pictures can seem some what better than a bunch of gossiping girls." she replied as she walked, "Though we did have some talking pictures at Beauxbatons so I know I'll always watch what I say." she laughed at what they had said.

"Ah I see." she said as she listened to the riddle. "Oh my thats easy." she said looking at him and then answering it. "Water, fire, earth and wind." she said as she waited for the door to open.

Sneaking out of the Feast (Nick) - Page 6 Empty Re: Sneaking out of the Feast (Nick)

Nick gazed on in amazement as the word’s rolled off Christabelle’s tongue, he smiled weakly and replied “Yeah….easy.” How could people do that, just answer off without a minute to think, a Ravenclaw indeed. Nick motioned for the lady to enter first and as she did so he followed behind, catching a whiff of he perfume as he did so.

The Ravenclaw common room was much different than the Slytherin common room. For one it was located in a tower so it was circular and wide. The arched windows were fantastic and the walls hung with blue and bronze silk’s. Nick gazed up at the domed ceiling, painted with the midnight stars, the effect really complimented the midnight blue carpet which they stood upon. In all Nick believed he preferred this common room to the Slytherin’s, it was much comfier. At the end of the room he saw the door which no doubt led up to the dormitories. Nick had never been in the Ravenclaw common room before but he was thoroughly enjoying this little visit “So here it is.” he said to Christabelle “Your home away from home, what do you think?” He walked up behind her and wrapped his arm’s around her waist “The dormitory will be over there through that door. Your luggage will be in there next to a bed, but if the beds rubbish just take whatever one you like, us Slytherins all do.”

It was sad that the two would be leaving each other any time now but it had been a thoroughly interesting encounter and Nick couldn’t wait to see her again. Smiling he continued “Ill probably see you at breakfast tomorrow, I shouldn’t stay too long, incase someone comes in and busts me. I don’t think Im allowed in here….”

She walked in and looked around curiously, "Ja, home away from home." she said quietly. She blushed a little as he wrapped his arms around her waist. She could feel his breath on her ear as he spoke which caused her face to redden more. The common room just seemed dull to her but at least with the tall windows there would be light in there during the day time.

She turned around and looked at him, his hands still on her waist. "Are there any that are infact rubbish?" she asked curiously. She had brought her bedding from home, which she figured would be better than the ones here, black silk sheets, with the same black silk for the pillow cases. She loved the feel of them on her skin. Her comforter was also covered in black silk but kept her warm when need be.

She looked up at him, her hair starting to dry in wild tendrils once more. "Well I'm sure you can't get into too much trouble." she said frowning a little, "You are a prefect after all, and isn't it your job to help out other students?" she asked, she didn't want him to get into trouble but she didn't want him to leave either but she knew he had to.
