For Christabelle
Nick had been seated at the Slytherin table for a half hour now, the feast was in full swing and everyone was having a good time. The headmasters speech had been as usual wacky but still sentimental. It was good to see all his old Slytherin friends but they were all occupied, sharing summer holiday stories. Nick on the other hand was picking at the ceaser salad heaped on his plate. He was hungry but not really in the mood, after drinking another glass of pumpkin juice and after assuring the third year seated next to him that the house elves were not being used as slave labour he focussed his attention elsewhere. Gazing over first at the Gryfindor table, then to the Ravenclaws.
They, like everyone else seemed happy to be back at school and everyone was catching up with old friends, except one girl. She was a rare beauty and sat rather bored looking, twirling her long blonde hair. Perhaps she was some sort of exchange student, after all they looked the same age, and no first years were developed like her. Nick shook off the hand's of a male friend making some sort of joke and stood up, striding over towards the Ravenclaw table. He stopped just behind her, and knelt on his knees at her side.
Nick drew his wand and spoke in a velvet like tone "Watch this" He levitated the napkin which had been sitting infront of her and with a swish of his wand the paper towel re-arranged itself into a white swan, which fell elegantly in Nick's hand. It was show off magic, not all Slytherins were big brutes who immersed themselves in the dark arts. He presented it to her with a charming smile "My name's Nick Valentine, forgive me but you looked so lonely."
Valentine wore a white shirt and a silver and green striped tie. His black Hogwarts jumper and his black un-buttoned robes were both trimmed with Slytherins green and silver. His dress trousers were black and his loafers were also black. He looked very clean and very sharp, a handsome boy indeed.
