A Best Friend (Nick)

OOC: I know we become friends, but Chris has a really bad temper.

Chris had just come out of Madame Puddyfoots when he realized he had forgotten to put a tip in the jar. He went back inside, and put in $5.00. He turned back around and wham, hit a person. He dropped his package."Hey, watch where you're going! "

[Thats ok, Nick's pretty level headed, everyone needs a friend that keeps them in check!]

Nick had been in Hogsmeade buying extra spell books for school when he realised that he had forgotten to return to Madame Puddyfoots to collect the school robes he had been fitted for half an hour prior. Cursing the fact his journey home was going to be delayed he shot of in the direction of the shop. His arms were full of thick leather bound books and most of these ended up on the floor as he walked smack bang into another boy, who was less than impressed with what had happened. Nick gazed at him rather dumbfounded for a moment. Had he not seen him a few times around the Slytherin common room? Well with a temper like that he thought, he would be well placed within Salazar's elite. Nick knelt down and gathered up the books and the boy's package. He returned them to the owner then spoke "You were just as much at fault as me. Sorry though, here are your robes, well I pressume there robes. Name's Nick." Valentine offered him a smile because he couldn't offer him a handshake.

"I'm Chris. Chris Lysander." Chris wondered if he had seen Nick before. He looked so familiar. Maybe they had seen each other in London. Or was he in Slytherin to?
"Hey, you look familiar. Do I know you?"

Nick thought for a moment. He had certainly not seen this boy in the city, if the two did know eachother it was most certainly at Hogwarts. Nick spoke calmly "Well I guess since your in Hogsmeade buying wizarding robes its safe to assume your not a muggle. Im a sixth year at Hogwarts, I belong to Slytherin. Now we speak of it Im sure I've seen you around the common room. Werent you the guy that went crazy at those first years for talking to loud while you studied?" Nick stiffled laughter, he remembered that day well, the look on that kids face was priceless. Even if it hadn't been Chris, he was sure he would remember also. That would give them something to talk about at least.

Chris scowled. "Yes, and they deserved it." The kids had slowly moved closer to him, and had gotton even louder until he had finally yelled at them. The librarian came over and had gotton Chris in trouble, 2 weeks of detention."Hey, have you ever been to Zonko's? The joke shop?"

"Yeah they did, I mean you told them nicely once so you did warn them." Nick shrugged, first years shouldn't be so annoying, there was no need for it. He smiled at the mention of Zonko's "No, I've never been, always been to busy, have you?" Chris seemed enthusiastic so Nick figured he knew the answer to his own question. "Zonko's, I take it thats where everyone gets their dungbombs and all that lot? You wanna head over there? See if we cant find something interesting. Call it my treat for walking into you."

"Sweet! I heard it just got these things called fake wands, and they look like real wands, and they cast spells, but the spells dont actually do anything!" Chris took a moment to breath. He walked out of the store, and waited for Nick to follow.

Nick followed on at Chris's heels, his arms still laden with carrier bag's filled with book's. Fake wand's huh? Sounded like a laugh, someone should rob Ollivander and replace the real wand's with fake ones, just to annoy him. Nick spoke calmly, his voice failing to show the enthusiasm he was feeling inside "Fake wand's huh? I say we get a few and terrorize a few people, launch unforgivables at them and all that eh." It was a rather sick prank but it would be so funny for a bit. "So where is Zonko's? Is it far from here? The wands are on me Chris."

"Zonko's is in London. We can use the Floo Network if you want to." Chris did not really wait for an answer. He walked back into Madame Puddyfoots, and pulled out his secret pack of floo powder, and beckoned towards Nick. "Come on! We don't have all day!"

"And I dont want to get myself covered in soot." Came Nick's reply. Floo powder was so over-rated, sure it got you where you wanted to be but why get there covered in dirt in the process, it was unhygienic. Nick had learned to apparate a few months ago and he was really using it whenever he could, now seemed like a pretty good time. He strolled over to Chris's side "Here grab hold of my arm Ill get us to Zonko's no problem." Nick registered the look of confusion upon Chris's face "I can apparate." he said with a smile
