Daniel had walked over to the punch table getting a bit thirsty and poured himself a cup before turning around seeing Izzie enter the room in a nice strapless dress which caused him to drop his drink, splashing wet water onto his shirt and his jaws to hang out. "H-h-h-hello" he stumbled, placing his hand on her hips and gave her a long kiss on the lips then pulled back.

As Alice walked into the room, she sighed. No one had asked her to be their date. No one had even NOTICED her besides the girls in the changing room. She wished she was more popular. The muggles at home had always commented on how beautiful she was, but she didn't really believe them. And ALL parents said you were pretty. She sat down in a chair and watched other people dance, wishing someone would ask her.

Ben walked into the Great Hall. A slow song. He didn't have a partner yet. He wanted to dance, he liked dancing. He wasn't amazing at it, but he wasn't too bad. He went and sat down on a chair. He realised Alice was sitting down too. "Hi Alice." he greeted her, smiling. Did she have a partner? Would it be too obvious if he asked outright? "Do you...do you have a date?" he asked her, slightly nervous. The first time he'd ever been nervous about talking to someone. Ever.

Jesse could only smile at Chase when she talked to him. He reached down and grabbed both of her hands and pulled her in close to him, starting to dance slowly trying to make up for the lost time. "You look... so amazing. I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful you look." He smiled and continued to dance with her.

Alice's heart soared. Ben was asking her to dance. BEN!!!. She started grinning so wide and could not stop.

"No, I don't have a date. Do you want to dance?" Alice asked, blushing. She hoped he said yes. She had a brother and therefore knew that Ben had probably just been asking her to dance, but she wasn't sure.

Chase grinned at Jesse and moved closer to him, putting her arms around his neck. Her cheeks flushed pink and she looked away grinning. "Thank you."She said softly and then looked up at him. "So traffic?"She asked looking up at him giggling. "Are there a lot of people on the stairs? Or did you have a..wardrobe malfunction?"She asked giggling as she glanced down at him again. The beautiful tux was so perfect on him. She giggled and looked up at him again as she moved as close as she could get in their dance.

Ben grinned as Alice asked. He knew he'd find a girl at the dance. Excellent. "That's why I asked." he replied. He stood up and turned to face her, offering her a hand to get up. "Let's dance." he simply said. The slow song was still on. Perfect, he thought.

Alice grinned again. She took Ben's hand and stood up. Then, she felt a little uncomfterable. She didn't know how to slow dance. Maybe Ben did, though. She looked at him.

"Erm..." she muttered.

Ben knew how to slow dance, he was alright, though not the best ever. He guessed by her 'err' that she hadn't done much slow dancing before. He smiled at her, he wouldn't mind teaching her a bit. "Ok, right. It's not hard, slow dancing. You put your hand on my shoulders, I put my hands on your hips. Then if I move back, you move forwards, if I move left, you move right, etc." he breifly explained. He was excited to be dancing with her, he didn't mind explaining. He smiled, putting his hands on her hips.

Alice smiled, feeling reassured. She put her hands on his shoulders and started swaying back and forth to the music. It was fun, and dancing with Ben made it all the more special. She looked into his eyes and blushed.
