Dropping Off A Letter..With An Unexpected Confrontation

James could feel the anger bubbling in him but he tried to keep his cool. James Potter did not like loosing his cool. Through gritted teeth he mumbled, "My dad fought hard for every witch and wizard in this world. He gave his life for all of that. That doesn't earn some respect?"

"Well he failed and got murdered at the end didn't he..? So no, he doesnt earn any respect," Scorpius replied with a sneer. Really, he didn't hate Harry Potter, he even respected him a bit, though not as much as most people did. Living near death Eaters of course had changed his view on Harry Potter as well. Anyway, he was just insulting him to annoy James, and it was sure working well.

James knew he was getting angry, but it's not like he expected anything different from Scorpius. He sort of hoped that somehow the Malfoy ways would not have been passed on to him. James didn't care about blood or houses, he just wanted to be friends with everyone. It was very unfortunate that this kid happened to be a jerk and annoy him so much that he didn't really stand a chance on that front. The mention of his dad's murder however, made his heart ache a little but he tried to hold back the rising lump in his throat. His dad had always told him to stay strong and never let your enemies see you vulnerable. "You think that you taunting me is going to bother me.." he said but he knew his voice told otherwise.

Scorpius smirked at the expression on James face, taking great pleasure from annoying him. Anyways, James had started the fight, it wasn't scorpius' fault. "It obviously is bothering you already," he said with a chuckle.

James sighed and looked away, trying to avoid the gaze of Scorpius. He had always managed to keep strong for his dad, but when things like this happened it was hard to. He just knew that his dad had always stayed strong when his father was gone, so he had to do the same. "Whatever you want to say, Malfoy," he said in a more stronger voice.

Scorpius glared at James as he looked away from him. He was getting annoyed that James was showing no signs of cracking, he had wanted to start a duel and humiliate him, but no. Rolling his eyes, he yawned and turned and stared at the scenery below instead.

James was proud that he hadn't given up. Anything so he wouldn't give Scorpius what he wanted. He didn't need a boost to his ego at all. James stared down at where Scorpius was looking and wondered what it was he was looking at. "What are you staring at that's so interesting?" he asked.

Scorpius rolled his eyes, man he was so nosy. Couldn't he just leave? No, he had to stay here, continuously asking questions. "I'm looking at the thestrals," scorpius replied without looking at James. He doubted whether James could see thestrals - you had to have seen death to see them, and James was spoiled and lazy.

James stared off and nodded when he said he was looking at the thestrals, like he was something special. James had never really seen death before his eyes before, even though he knew it all too well. He knew his father used to be able to see the thestrals and said they were pretty cool animals. For a split second he was almost jealous of the Malfoy kid, but he knew that it was such a stupid thing to want. Who would want to actually see someone die? Definately not James.

Scorpius smirked at James then looked back, evidently he couldn't see them. But still, it wasn't something to feel superior on was it? Scorpius hadn't wanted to see anyone die... "So.." Scorpius said conversationally, turning. "How are classes going?" he asked casually.
