Time with the Owls

Zoe looked back at Clair. "Sorry. I just get really defensive when people do that. The Weasley is a well known name. Everywhere. It even seems some muggles know of us. So. Sorry. Didn't mean to jump to conclusions." Zoe was sorry. She hated it when she did that. A lot of the time she did it without really realizing she was doing it. She hoped that she could get onto a better foot with the new girl. This wasn't the way she wanted it.

Zoe turned back toward Clair. "Look. I think we got off to the wrong foot. Let's try this again. Hi. I'm Zoe. And I know what you mean. The library is very quiet. Its good if you have to study but other than that and I want to go to sleep. Give me the outdoors and I am one happy camper." Zoe said with a smile.

Without really thinking about it. Zoe took a step away from the window. She really didn't want to be pushed out it. She didn't think Clair would do that to her but better safe than sorry. Zoe's broom was in her truck in her room. She knew she couldn't fly and really didn't want to try it. Slowly Zoe when to sit in the entrance way. "They really need to put some chairs up here." Zoe said out loud. Not really knowing why. Just seemed to work.

Zoe smiled at Clair and nodded. "Nice to meet you Clair." Looking down and at her clothes was when she realized that she wasn't dressed in her robes. Sometimes Zoe forgot that not everyone knew who she was and all. "Well, I am in Hufflepuff. A 5th year prefect. I also play Quidditch. I'm a beater." She said with a huge smile. "And you?"

Zoe picked up some hay that had been used for the owls resting boxes. She started playing with it over and over in her hand "Yea. Next time we bring our own chairs. But then again I don't really thing I want to tote a chair all the way from the dungeon to the top of the towers." Zoe didn't look up she kept her eyes on the piece of straw in her hands.

Zoe looked up at Clair. "No I'm not going to give you detention. If I did that every time I was threatened the entire school would have it." Zoe told here with a laugh. "Yea the house teams tend to fill quickly. Sometimes at least." Zoe shrugged. Hufflepuff still had a lot of empty spaces on theirs.

Zoe laughed at Clair's comment. "Oh its ok. You get use to it after a while. Most of the time I just ignore them. But I make sure they don't have a chance to take advantage of their threat. Like now." Zoe said pointing toward the open window. "I stepped away. Didn't want to give you the chance. Not that I thought you were really serious but being safe. I made sure." She said smiling.

Zoe jumped a little when Clair jumped down. IT was obvious she had an idea of some sort. She followed Clair as Clair crossed toward a neat bale of hay. "Nice. Now why didn't I think of that." She laughed a little. "Oh and hay doesn't bother me. Not at all." She said throwing some up in the air. Watching it fall everywhere.

"Yea that is one thing I have learned. I have learned to keep myself safe and be very cautious." Zoe told Clair smiling. She picked up another pieace of fallen hay. Suddenly there was a shower of hay around her. "Hey. What the heck? Why?. I can do that too." Zoe said alughing. She picked up a handfull too and threw it back and Clair.
