Angus hadn't had the chance to try to save himself because it had all happened just too damned fast. His head was spinning. One moment, he was falling over the cliff and then next he was back on solid ground.
"Git," Marcus exhaled, too glad that they'd gotten to him in time to truly be irked with him, and, actually, he was rather glad to see James was gone. Marcus peered over the cliff, expecting to see a body at the bottom, but he didn't see one. He tried to help Angus sit up, but Angus was too dizzy to sit up on his own at first. "You really need to rethink brawling on the same day you damned near bleed out, you know. That's why you're dizzy. Give it a minute til the blood pressure rights itself." He waited a moment. "Better?"
"Yeah. Thanks," Angus said. Marcus got up and helped Angus up, holding onto him for a moment to let him adjust to another quick change of position.
"He's alright, I think," Marcus told everyone else. "I'll check his dressing when we get home though, just in case.
"Anise. Where's Anise?" Angus was panicking.
"Calm," Edward said. "Jessie took her out of here. She's in safe hands." Angus nodded, trying to pull himself together.
"Sorry, Jack. I didn't mean to knock him off the cliff. It was an accident," Angus said.
"I don't think there is any love loss there, Angus," Edward said. "I'd say this was a good night's work.."
"I still have two thestrals to find," Angus sighed.
"Screw the thestrals. They're not stupid. When they get hungry, they'll come home," Edward said. "Let's go home."
