"Right as rain," Marcus told Ruby with a smile. "Remus was right. Chocolate fixes everything. I think she wants to try to beat me at backgammon."
"You'll need to get into the pantry and get the bag of pistachios. You'll need to toast a cup of them on a sheet pan. Just turn the oven onto a medium heat, chuck the pistachios onto a dry sheet pan and bung it in the oven for a few minutes. Not long, or they'll burn. The minute you start to smell them, get them out straight away. Take half of them and grind them down fine. You can use the mortar and pestle if you want or just flick a spell at them. Whatever you like. the other half, you're going to chop them so it adds some texture to the ice cream. And then, we're going to make a lovely creamy creme ingles with heavy cream, cream cheese, almond extract, sugar, a bit of golden syrup, a pinch of salt, and a speck of corn flour. We'll add all the pistachios in, sir it to get it completely blended and then we'll freeze the lot. Now, clear as mud?"
Michael and Edward made their way home, and Michael came in the kitchen and saw Khaat and Marcus having tea and chocolate, and Ruby preparing to make something.
"Michael, I have a request," Angus said. "Could you make a ginormous lasagna for supper tonight, with maybe one of your exceptional caesar salads? Ruby has dessert under control already."
"Sounds like a great idea," Michael said. "I'm on it." Michael went over to the fridge and the pantry to check Kate's ingredients."
"Whatcha making, Shorty?" Michael asked, teasing very gently. After all, he as a good eight inches taller than she was.
"Sounds like a good plan, Jessie," Brian said. "Wake me if you have any snags."
