THE BRITISH MINISTRY OF MAGIC
-----
The Ministry of Magic was formally established in 1707 with the appointment of the very first man to hold the title 'Minister for Magic', Ulick Gamp. It is the governing body of the magical community in Great Britain that, across many departments, establishes and upholds magical law. The Ministry itself is buried deep under Whitehall, in central London. Though many employees travel by Floo to work, there are also several unusual methods of getting into the Ministry - such as by red telephone box or down a loo.
