The Christmas Ball

"Yes very, so go away," Darren muttered, irritated. Sue had to wreck the dance for him didn't she? He should of known it was too good to last anyways. "Someone convinced you? Wow.." he said, his tone surprised. It was hard to convince Gin to do anything, she was just so stubborn, or maybe she was just to him.. "Anyways, jeans would look pretty odd at a dance.. And you look amazing anyways." Turning to Zoe as she came at their table, he was now pretending Sue was not there, it was probably better than bickering with her for hours on end. "Did you come with anyone Zoe?" he asked conversationally.

Ginevra knew from past experiences that when Darren and Sue were put together it was constint arguing or bickering; even worse then hers with Darren. "I know, amazing right?" she replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes as she did. It wasn't that amazing, well it was surpising but it wasn't a first time thing. Laughing she shook her head, "You really think i'd care about looking odd?" she asked as her eyebrows cocked upwards. Yeah, right. That would never happen, she was just to okay with who she was. Turning away at his complament, she was blushing and this time there were no excusing like the cold to cover it up. "Thanks," she replied, listening to the speech with Zoe now.

"Yeah it is," Darren said, ignoring her sarcastic tone. "You never listen to me, only rarely." Laughing, yeah Gin never cared about her appearance, or what people said about her. Neither did Darren, one of the very few things they had in common. Smiling when he saw her blush, he liked making her blush, even though he usually did that without knowing. Still waiting for Zoe's answer, he sipped his drink, sparing one glance at Sue to see if she was still there. Her presence was annoying him again, Darren wasn't so good at ignoring people.

Hearing the sarcasm, Ginevra couldn't help but grin as she knew she was rather difficult often. "That's because you always want me to do things like shut up!" she pointed out, snickering slightly. Since she was looking away, Ginevra did not know what he was laughing at but she caught on because the only thing she'd started to do was blush. "Oh, shut up." she murmured, sighing. "Why did she even come over, anyways?" she asked curiously, talking about Sue.

Darren laughed, she was half-right. No one would listen to that advice. But then, he also gave her good advice sometimes and she usually ignored it. "You have to admit, thats a pretty good advice though.." he said, grinning. She really didn't talk that much, he just said that to annoy her. "To annoy me obviously," he said in a bored voice. Everyone seemed to love annoying him, but Sue more than anyone else. "You can just ask her," he added, shrugging. He knew Gin never talked to Sue, both of them despised each other.

Ginevra laughed, being told to shut up wasn't something anyone liked or would ever listen to but obviously Darren had to retort to it. "Maybe sometmes, though rarely." she teased, grnning. Ginevra had to give Sue credit to the fact that she picked Darren to annoy, he was so easy that there wasn't even a point. "I'm not talking to her." she told him automatically though she knew she was right there. Talking to Sue would come up with nothing good at anytime, ever.

Darren nodded, the best thing to do with Sue was to just ignore her. He couldn't seem to do that, he always lost his temper when she insulted Gin, which Sue took advantage of quite often. Finishing his drink, he looked around the room, a new song had started but he sure didn't want to dance again.

Ginevra stayed her distance from Sue as often as she could but the fact she was standing right there was starting to make her tick, she didn't want to be within a mile of the nevermind right next to her. She wasn't in the mood for dancing anymore either as she noticed just how many people had been watching.

Darren frowned, he had wanted to talk to Gin about something ever since but they had always been surrounded by people. And he hadn't quite gotten to talking about it when they were dancing. He guessed he just had to wait for Sue and Zoe to leave. Getting bored, he slumped back on his chair still searching for something fun to do. The dance was starting to get really boring again..

Getting up from her seat Ginevra really just couldn't take it with Sue hovering what seemed to be so close, though it wasn't even that close. "I'll be back.. maybe." she muttered to Darren, starting to walk towards the doorway. She'd come back after walking around, sure, but not to where he was if Sue was still there.
