Diving into the deep waters

After everything that happened in by the forbidden forest that lead to losing house points as well as Athena's first and ever detention, Athena was surprised that he wanted to see her again. Athena was waiting for Vaughn in the room of requirements which was now a deep swimming pool in the middle of the room, she on the shallow in with her feet in the water just playing with the water with her feet. He told her that he was coming in the Gryffindor common room and told her not to worry about what happened by the forbidden forest, but she couldn't help but not to feel bad about what happened. Athena didn't know how Vaughn felt, but she liked him and wanted to be with him, but if he was still with Dakota she understood. She hated that their day together was ended the way that it was, they were having so much fun by the lake enjoying each other's company, it just felt right to her and wanted to do it again. 


Athena went to see Vaughn every day that he was in the hospital wing until he gotten better, their was a couple of times she gotten kicked out for staying to late. Although she was glad that he was ok and back on his feet, the sight on him in the forest scared her, she didn't want to see him like that again. Hearing the doors opening, she look up from the water and smiled seeing that it was Vaughn walking towards her. " Hey you, I thought that you weren't going to come."said Athena smiling at him as he seen him smirking at her. " Don't you even think about it! "said Athena already knowing what he was planning.

Vaughn had gotten his swim trunks on and threw his jeans over them. He felt bad that Athena got a detention because she followed him into the forest. He quickly threw on his shoes when one of his classmates came in and gave him a questioning look. He just smiled at them and walked out with a smile on his face, it felt good to be back on his feet. The healer Anya said that he was lucky that he wasn't worse when he came into the hospital wing. She had made sure that he was completely healed and he felt better everyday especially when Athena came to see him the entire time he was in there. He walked quickly to the room of requirements and then walked in after the door was shown to him.

Seeing Athena in the shallow end with her feet in the water made a huge grin cross his face. He walked towards her thanking his lucky stars that she was here. "Of course I was coming. I wouldn't miss our first swimming lesson." When he smirked at her then she said not to think about it he laughed loudly. "I don't know what your talking about Thena." He took off his shoes, jeans, and t-shirt leaving him in his black swim trunks. He sat down next to her putting his feet in the water. "I'm sorry for everything that happened at the lake, I never wanted you to get in the middle of that." He said softly not knowing what else to say to her. He didn't know if she still wanted a relationship with him so he didn't broach the subject. "Alright let's get in the water and I'll walk you through the first few steps of learning to swim.

Athena liked the kiss and wanted more from Vaughn, she couldn't help but not to think that that one kiss lead them to get into trouble. Although did Athena regret kissing Vaughn? Of course not, she absolutely enjoyed it, and she really liked Vaughn. Athena was just glad that Vaughn was back to his normal self, seeing all pale, weak and hurt made her so upset that healer Anya gave her calming potions for her to take so she'll focus on her classes instead of worrying about Vaughn constantly. Although every morning before classes and every day after she visited making sue that he had company so he'll get better quicker, she knew if you had your friends and girlfriend around, you get better quicker. Athena was glad that they were alone though and no one will bother them, not many came here anyways, unless you were older or a Potter's Army member that you knew where this was at.  


"I didn't know if you wanted to see me or even be around me after what happened in the forest. " said Athena honestly. Athena crossed her arms giving him a stern look. " No grabbing me by the waist and jumping in, although I really wouldn't mind that, I actually think it'll be better that way I'm not so afraid. " said Athena honestly before blushing. " I feel silly being afraid of water that goes above my head, guess I'm afraid of drowning, is that silly? "Athena asked him softly but curiously. " It wasn't your fault Vaughn, you didn't know that was going to happen, I didn't know you kissing me after I wanted to would cause this much trouble. " said Athena honestly. " I like you alot Vaughn, I liked you since we met on the train, but if you want to be with Dakota I'll understand."said Athena. Athena nodded and looked at him nervously. " Vaughn will you do this with me like you were going to at first? "Athena asked looking up at him biting her lip.

Vaughn looked at her with a confused look on his face at her words. "Of course I want to see you and be around you. What happened in that forest wasn't your fault Thena." He said trying to figure out why she felt that way. "Don't worry about that Thena, we'll be doing something about that in a minute." He looked at her wondering why she thought he didn't want to be around him. "It's not silly, not everyone is rather fond of swimming and everyone is a afraid of drowning no matter who you are. It's not anything pleasant I can assume." He looked at her hearing now why she thought he wasn't going to come here. "It wasn't your fault Thena I was the one who kissed you. I wanted to kiss you," He said looking at her wondering why she was thinking these things. Hearing that she liked him a lot he smiled softly before taking her face in his hands and kissing her lips again. "I'm here because I like you as well very much. Your something wonderful Thena and I'm not about to let you slip from my grasp." He kept his hands on her face looking at her straight in the eyes. "Yes I will still teach you to swim like I promised. Soon you will be a strong swimmer and you won't have to worry about anything." He said pulling her lips out from between her teeth. "Come on let's have some fun."

Vaughn quickly picked her up around the waist and jumped into the pool without waiting for her to recover. Setting her down once they were in he smiled at her, "See not so hard but then again I didn't give you much chance of reacting." He said laughing softly. He took her hand and brushed it across the top of the water. "For today we're just gonna get you used to the water so it will be easier for you. Just feel how the water moves under your hand and see how clear it is."

Athena looked at Vaughn and smiled. " Good cause I want to see you and be around you more then anything, so you're not getting rid of me, so get use to it! "said Athena laughing. " I know that it wasn't, but seeing you like that scared me, I never want to see him like that again. " said Athena shivering at the memory. "I never really done it so I'm just scared of it, although I do want to learn so I'm not in so much envy watching people swim in the lake during the spring or summer time. " said Athena honestly. Athena smiled. " I wanted to kiss you as well, I was going to kiss you back before we were interrupted, but I'm glad that you kissed me I wanted you to. " said Athena honestly before looking at him blushing at the thought of kissing him again. Athena eyes widened as he took her face in his hands and kissed her once again. Not having anyone or anything stopping her, Athena kissed him back. " Um...a bit silly and pathetic, but that kiss by the lake was actually my first kiss, you were my first kiss."said Athena blushing as she told him that. " I don't want to lose you either Vaughn, now that I got you, I'm not letting go of you. " said Athena smiling at him. " I trust you Vaughn, I trust you more then anything. "said Athena kissing him softly on the lips. Athena nodded and intertwined hands with him and smiled. " You're right lets have fun! "said Athena. 


Athena giggled as he wrapped his arms around her and jumped into the pool, Athena let out a small squeak before they hit the water. Athena pushed some hair out of her eyes and look at him and chuckled. " That was actually really fun! "said Athena honestly before laughing. Athena felt the water under her hand and smiled before she intertwined hands with him again. Watching the ripples in the water as she ran her hand over it she giggled happily.

Vaughn smiled hoping that his luck would be with him today and no one would be coming in here. He laughed at her statement and listened to her talk about the day in the forest. "I'm sure it would scare just about anyone because of how I looked. I saw my reflection in the mirror and I must admit it wasn't something I would want to go through again." He said rubbing her arms softly to warm her. "You will learn with me on how to swim and then they'll be the ones jealous because like a swan in the water. Beautiful and graceful." He said smiling. "Well it looks like you got what you wanted Thena." He didn't know what else to say but it was the truth. "I was your first kiss?" He said looking at her confused at why no one hadn't kissed her yet. "Well I'm glad that I was your first even though it didn't end well." He said softly kissing her lips again. "Yes lots of fun in the water."

Vaughn laughed when she let out a small squeak before they hit the water. "Yes it is a lot of fun once you get used to the water." He said putting his hand in the water swirling it slowly. He smiled when she intertwined their hands then smiled more when she giggled. "Come on we're gonna go about waist deep in the water." He lead her over towards the deeper end before stopping right at waist deep. "This way you can feel what it's like when your half submerged in water."

Athena hoped that no one will bug them like they were when they were by the lake, she was quite upset that they good day ended the way that it did, she didn't want another episode of that. Athena looked up at him. " I hope that it doesn't happen to you again, you're way to hot and handsome for that face to look pale, lifeless and messed up. ”said Athena softly but honestly. Athena smiled as she started warming up at the touch of his hands on her arms. Athena laughed. " A beautiful swan, you think that I'll swim like a beautiful Swan after this? "Athena asked him smiling. Athena giggled and smiled. " I think I gotten more then what I wanted that day by the lake, I wanted to be with you and and kiss, and I gotten that. " said Athena honestly before giving him a soft warm smile. Athena blushed and nodded. " Yes you were, and quite honestly I'm glad that you were, you're sweet and so caring Vaughn and I'm lucky to have you. " said Athena. " Although it didn't end well, it was still nice, and I would like quite a bit more kisses and cuddling by the lake that was nice. " said Athena honestly. 


Athena shivered a bit trying to get used to the cold water that all the sudden made her body cold. "It's freezing! "said Athena her teeth chattering due to her being cold. She slowly started warming up as she intertwined hands with Vaughn, she didn't know what it was, but he always made her blush and made her skin feel like it was on fire when he touched her. Athena nodded and walked with him towards the waist deep water, she started freaking out a bit, and looked at Vaughn a bit scared. "Vaughn don't go any further, I'm scared of the water getting deeper on me!"said Athena seeing the water to her waist but her eyes widened as she seen the deep end wasn't that far from them. One wrong step and she could go off into the deep end, but she trusted Vaughn and knew that he wouldn't let her drow.

Vaughn grinned at her saying that she was hot and handsome. "Really now? I'm hot and handsome? That may be a tall order to fill. I can promise you that what happened in the forest won't happen again. I'm staying away from it for a while." He said with a reassuring smile. "Yes I do believe that you will swim like a beautiful swan when we are done with this." His grin got wider at her next words and he couldn't help but chuckle. "Yes you did get," He brushed a strand of her hair from her eyes and behind her ear. "I'm glad that I was your first kiss, I think I'm the lucky one though." He said smiling softly at her. "We'll have to make sure that we are able to do so without someone following us around." He said sighing softly, "Though I don't think it will happen soon."

Vaughn thought of a heated pool and the room of requirements heated it up to a warm temperature. "There now we have a nice warm pool to swim in, instead of one that feels like that lake." He said laughing softly. He walked a little ways from the edge that lead to the deep end. Now they were standing in thigh high water instead of waist deep. "It's ok, we'll get to deeper water after you've gotten a real good hang on swimming. So from here to the shallow end will be our area to swim in. This way if anything happens you can just stand up, when we get to deeper water which won't be for some time. We won't be able to stand like this but you will be more experienced there.

Athena looked at Vaughn and blushed. " I think that you're very hot and handsome."said Athena giving him a soft warm smile. " I'm glad, I was so shook up by seeing you the way that I did, healer Anya gave me the calming drought and sent me to get some sleep. " said Athena honestly. Athena smiled. " After I get done with this, it'll be the handsome prince and the swan princess swim swimming together! "said Athena laughing. Feeling him brush some hair out of her eyes, she her blue eyes looked into his as she sighed happily to herself, she finally found a place she belonged and it was with Vaughn in his arms. Athena looked at him confused and chuckled. " How are you lucky Vaughn? You clearly can have any girl that you wanted, but you picked me. " said Athena softly but honestly. " I'm glad that you did, because I don't if you heard me in the hospital wing when you were hurt, but I love you. " said Athena wrapping her arms around his neck before kissing him. Athena pulled away and laughed at his comment. " Yeah we did, we might be followed and spied on by many people. " said Athena honestly before laughing.  


As Athena felt the water warm up, she looked at Vaughn and smiled. " Thank you Vaughn love, that's sweet of you, you didn't have to do that. " said Athena softly but honestly. Athena looked at him a bit scared before she nodded. She held onto him but she trusted him, and she knew that he wasn't going to let anything bad happen to her so she didn't worry. Athena started to relax a bit more and wasn't as scared as she was, but she still was a little. Athena only been in water that went to her knee, and that was stand up in her father's hot tub, although sitting down in it came to her chest. " Ok..so what do we do now Vaughn? " Athena asked him wondering what to do now that they were in waist deep water.

Vaughn smiled at her words and laughed softly seeing her blush. "Trust me after waking up and seeing myself in the hospital wing I was even surprised. I'm surprised I didn't wake up screaming, I felt like I was hit by a train. Yes healer Anya is a good person, though some are scared of her 'cause she's a vampire." He laughed at that last bit. He laughed at her comment and said, "Hmm that sounds like something from a book or something." He laughed thinking about it. "I'm sorry but not a lot of girls line up for me no matter what I look like. I'm the one that's more than likely the friend in the back round. You on the other hand have to have boys fawning all over you." He said looking at her shaking his head. "No I didn't hear you in the Hospital Wing." He said smiling at her. "I know you probably want to hear those words back but I want to be sure that your not going to leave when things get messy. The woods is gonna be nothing compared to the ridicule we're going to get soon enough." He looked down at the water they were standing in and half expected her to smack him then run away.

"Well it was really cold and I'm not fond of swimming in freezing water." He said with a smile as he brushed his hand across the top of the water. "For now we're just going to be getting used to the water. We won't be actually swimming until tomorrow. Today is just to get you ready to start swimming or at first floating. It takes some time but it will help you get ready to get out there." He said pointing towards the deep end.
