Brian was almost blind with rage. James had his daughter. He saw the female who he had seen take her stand as James' female and he decided he was going to make sure James knew the Lupins weren't playing anymore.
He leveled rapid fire sectumsempras, not caring whether she escaped to tell James what happened to her or whether he killed her right here and now.
Kate apparated in front of a clutch of young werewolves and decided to eliminate them herself. Robert headed for some of the larger males. He was angry. Evidently the werewolves had forgotten how vicious he could be in a fight. Well, if they needed a reminder, he wasn't afraid to show them. If they thought the family was going to tolerate this, they were sadly mistaken. If James wanted blood, he was going to get it, but not from the humans.
Marcus muscled Khaat into the house and secured it. "Check the children," he told her quietly. "We've got to make sure they're unharmed." He knew she wasn't focused, and he was trying to get her there.
Angus and Edward came out of the house and saw the chaos. "The barn," Edward pointed out to Angus that a couple werewolves had set fire to the barn. "Go," he told Angus. "I think I'll go make my presence known." Angus nodded, and Edward chose to apparate out in front of the elder members of the pack and gave them no quarter. He started to fire killing curses quickly, wanting pack order disrupted.
Lee arrived with a handful of his fighters and looked over the scene quickly. He waved them into action and decided to go keep Brian from killing James' female. If Brian wanted to send a message, then Lee knew that they needed her alive.
