Twilight was fast approaching on the skyline, night chasing away day into the sloping, lolloping hills. After a wheeze of a day roaming around London, the bellies of four Gryffindors began to rumble and they weighed up the last of their money before deciding that the Leaky Cauldron was the best place to go for a meal and something to drink - potentially a beer of some description if they could will the waitress to see their point of view. Regardless, they were a tad young to be out on the binge. That didn’t, of course, restrict the cigarettes.
Luke and Isaac were striding ahead, leaving Andrew and Baldric bringing up the rear as they made their way through the largely deserted London streets towards the beat up, fire-licked building was ignored by the Muggles that were dotted around, looking for their own food or making their way home.
Isaac flicked his cigarette into the gutter as they drew up to the pub and after shuffling their feet on the mat in the porch they jumped up into the pub and into the warmth and atmosphere that it brought.
The boys found a table quickly and while Luke went up to the bar, the others settled down around the table and broke up some of the bread that was sat in a basket in the middle.
Baldric dropped his leather jacket on the back of his chair and sat himself down, tucking one of Isaac’s ciggies behind his ear, making a mental note to have it and enjoy it after dinner.
Boys will be boys.
Looking around, there wasn’t much of a crowd about but enough people to make the pub seem homely and becoming. Baldric lounged in his chair, his face breaking out into a grin as Luke returned with the beers which the waitress had hesitantly provided after he’d pointed out they were going to eat.
Baldric broke the lid off of his and took a swig, savouring the bitter lager taste before setting it down and reaching back to take a deck of cards from his pocket.
“Alright. Draw a diamond, it’s a dare.” He announced as he began to shuffle the deck.
