They had finally gotten to where he wanted the conversation to go. He did need help, though he did not think the first face he would recognize would be her. Though she had just said she was allies with the current government. That may prove dangerous for him if she and the current minister or whoever was in charge these days were close.
He scoffed "I hope you know the difference between allies and friends when it comes to this Ministry. I wouldn't half expect who ever runs the show to not propose your government includes these laws into its charter." He was testing the waters on the topic; he hoped she would react unfavorable for the laws.
He looked at her inquisitively when she said he was the least of her worries. Perhaps she was closer to him than he thought. He guessed that it probably wasn't hard he remembered the man to be nicer than the average Death Eater.
He loosened his stance slightly he was preparing himself to run if she reacted badly to what he was about to ask her. He took a breath and after a short pause said, "I....Need allies. Before I left there was a resistance movement forming. I don't know if they are still around or not, but I need to get into the fight. The ministry is out of control, and it is causing imbalance in the order of things. I know I have and probably will do things that are passed redemption, but all the same. I live in this country."
Of course he was leaving out that he couldn't gain any traction in his rise to power if he was mistrusted, and a revolution left all sorts of power gaps he could exploit.
