Robert decided they were not going to take the kids out of the house for any reason. The estate was safer than the safehouse--at least when it came to security. It was protected on all four sides. The safehouse was protected on three sides, actually, but had spells on all four.
If it hadn't been for the traitor who had let James into the house, the house itself was still safe. It wasn't that James had found any way to breech the security spells that were in place. In fact, if he had, he wouldn't have needed to bribe a guard with the promise of a lot of cash.
Robert knew very well it was most likely James, but he wasn't sure how Khaat would get away and how in the world he would take the kids. It was hard to make Khaat stay home if she really needed to go out, but there was no reason in the world why the kids would need to be taken out. Ever.
He also had to consider that by Khaat not being home in England very soon, the risk to the health and safety of her and the twins went up dramatically. They just weren't prepared for it here. They would be at home. Not only that, but Khaat was stressed, and so was Brian, by the thought of not being home for the birth. No, it seemed to be a risk they needed to take.
He sighed, and simply nodded at Jess's idea that it might be a cave. And that it might be James. But he also agreed there was little they could do at the moment. He accio'd a throw from the sofa and put it over Abbey intending to rock her as long as she wanted. He wasn't going anywhere, and if, by being with him, the child could sleep, he was good with it.
The dreams of a seer could be horror filled as it was. No four year old deserved to go through that alone. He wanted her to know that Papa was always, always there for her.
