Lee had arrived at the estate with Abbey and had taken her upstairs to Robert's room. He knocked once, quietly, on the partly closed door and pushed it open.
Robert frowned deeply, seeing Abbey covered in...what was it? Pie? And she was in a deep sleep laying on Lee's chest. He got up and went over to Lee. He laid his hand on Abbey's forehead and detected the strong sleep spell immediately. He saw the mashed pumpkin pasties that she was covered in, and he saw the tears still on her little face.
He snapped his fingers to clean up the mashed pumpkin pasties off of her and then he took her from Lee,
"Robert," Lee said gently. "Abbey got a mind of her own and ran out of Khaat's room. Marcus and I followed her, but she ran right into James." Robert became wide eyed. James? In the hospital? And with access to Abbey? His grip on Abbey became tighter. "He did try to get ahold of her, but we kept him from that. It did frighten her rather badly. We fought him off. Jack took some flesh wounds--I think they were flesh wounds. But there was a lot of blood, and it added more to her fear."
Robert was furious, but was completely dedicated to Abbey.
"She was pretty traumatized," Lee said. "Can you help her with that?" Robert nodded. He took her over to the rocking chair that Kate usually sat in and sat there with Abbey and wrapped her close and just held her and rocked her.
"One more thing?" Lee said. "Khaat's discharged herself. Belby is on his way home with her." That was the last thing Robert wanted to hear. He pounded his fist on the arm of the chair. He accio'd Michael's pipe from the chess table and showed it to Lee.
"Michael? You want me to find Michael?" Lee asked. Robert nodded. "You want me to update him?" Robert nodded. "I'll make sure he knows and Angus knows," Lee said. "If its alright with you, I'm going to stay awhile. I want to be sure the security is up to par."
Robert knew that had little to do with it. Lee wanted to make sure that Robert's family was alright, and that was fine with Robert.
Marcus ported in with Khaat, who had gotten bitterly cold because of having nothing to wear other than her cloak and a hospital gown. She was shivering hard, her skin was like ice. Marcus hadn't expected to hit such a bitterly cold crossbreeze in the porting, but he knew she needed to be warmed up. He took her upstairs straight away to her room to tuck her into bed to get her warmed up.
"I'll have you warmed up in a moment," Marcus told her. "I'll get you into bed and send for something hot to drink."
"Make sure we're safe," she said into his jacket. "Don't worry about me. Find Abbey."
"Lee had her," Marcus said. "I'm sure she's fine. But I'll see if she's here. My job is you."
