"Yes, I would like to go," Kate said. "Will you all be alright if so many of us are gone?"
"We still have a lot of people here, Kate," Angus said, coming into the kitchen. "We can manage, I'm sure. Oh, soup. Good idea. Looks like you're doing fine, Jim."
Robert ported Khaat to St. Mungos, and the staff flew to help, getting a gurney to put her on. "Did Brian get here?" Robert asked, not stopping and taking the gurney straight up to the surgical suites, and issuing orders to Hannah and his staff as he went.
"Yes, Sir," Hannah said. "Jess is tending to him. Orders, Sir?"
"Get a surgical suite ready," Robert said. "I have to repair her shoulder."
"Again?" Hannah frowned.
"Indeed," Robert said. "Get a surgical team to scrub and meet me there. My security team will be arriving any time now. They'll be caring for Khaat and Brian both. Michael will be bringing food as soon as either of them are conscious, and I'm sure my wife will be here shortly. No visitors other than my staff, no exceptions. No press, if we can help it, because we just don't know anything yet. They'll just have to wait for my statement. Let's move."
It was over two hours later when Robert finally had Khaat tended, admitted and moved to a room , two doors away from where Brian had been placed after his admission, on the same side of the hall. He made sure she was still sedated. Then he went to Brian's room to make sure someone was still with Brian and to double check him.
He passed Kate in the hallway. He stopped very briefly. "They're gonna be fine, Kate," he said, kissing her forehead. "Give me a few minutes, and I'll tell you what I know. Khaat's down there." He pointed to her room. "She's not going to be awake for awhile, but you're welcome to go sit with her. I'm going to check on Brian, and then I'll come find you." Kate simply turned and headed to Khaat's room. Robert went to Brian's room.
