What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Hug Hunting - Page 3 Empty Re: Hug Hunting

"That's a good idea," Vivianna jumped in quickly before Bertie could give up. "Just write them a letter explaining the situation, that you wouldn't be able to get into the office to work, but that you'd love to be involved. I know for a fact that they're always looking for talent, and you're talented and unique. They'll be all over that," the Slytherin reassured.

Perhaps she was looking at this for a slightly different perspective as a member of the serpent house. Slytherins did whatever they had to when it came down to achieving their goals and wishes. The teenager was well aware that Bertie was a Ravenclaw, but she wasn't about to let him give up so easily.

Reaching over, Vivianna placed a hand on Bertie's arm. Squeezing in a comforting gesture, she added, "and you better not even think about not writing that letter."

Bertie flushed a light red as Vivianna complemented his talent. He ruffled a hand through his hair unable to withhold a grin. His imagination and creativity is what Bertie loved most about himself and to have someone else acknowledge that and praise it simply made his heart leap up to his neck.

He could write the letter, but the chances they would say yes to him were slim, even if Vivianna reassured that they were looking for new talent. Out of all the people in the world the chances The Daily Prophet, the most popular wizard news paper in the country, would be interested in him seemed bizarre.

Bertie gazed out of the window, debating whether it'd be wise to send the letter. Distracted by Vivanna's touch he stared up into the redheads eyes. He grinned guiltily. Either she had read what he was thinking from his face or she just knew Bertie would be thinking - mostly likely a mix of the two.

Another idea suddenly crossed his mind. 'Viv, if you become famous can I write your biography?'

At Bertie's seemingly random statement, Vivianna was unable to hold back her laugh. It was simply such an obscure thought, her becoming famous enough to need an autobiography. The girl spent at least a minute laughing before finally settling down, slightly out of breath.

"Bertie, if I ever become famous, I wouldn't let anyone but you write my autobiography," the witch said truthfully. Of course, Bertie might end up making her look like a big softy, which would completely destroy her reputation, but it would be worth it. The boy would put his heart and soul into something like that, and Vivianna found herself wanting to become famous for just a moment, simply so she could get the Ravenclaw teen to write something on her that was so sure to be a masterpiece.

"And when you become famous," the Slytherin said slyly, "I expect a dedication in at least two of your works." The girl couldn't help it anymore, and dissolved back into laughter.

Bertie thought for a moment before joining in the laughter. It did seem peculiar and he had no idea how the thought had even come to his mind. He would quiet like to write about Vivianna's life if she became famous though. That'd give him an excuse to spend a lot of time with Vivianna planning it out and finding snippets they could insert into the work of art.

Bertie opened his mouth to retort back when Vivianna said about him dedicating two of his books to her, then closed it before chuckling along with the Slytherin. 'That's a big if.' He said when he managed to catch his breath back, although his eyes had lit up and a small smile had curled from his lips. He didn't like to admit he wanted to be famous for writing books, he didn't want to appear as though he had high expectations of himself and he really didn't believe it would be possible. Right now his mind was set on getting through Hogwarts and enjoying his time there.

Maybe if he did become a famous writer, one day in the future, he'd be able to write an autobiography and dedicate an entire chapter to him and Vivianna. However, what he'd include in his autobiography he had no idea, after all to Bertie, his life simply wasn't that interesting to read.

The Slytherin shrugged at Bertie's comment. "You have talent, now all you need is determination and a splash of good fortune," Vivianna told the younger student. Sometimes there were people who were just born to so something. And if Bertie hadn't been born to either write or create, then Vivianna would eat her Slytherin scarf.

Slowly getting up from her comfortable position, the witch stretched. Arching her back, in a way that was reminiscent of a cat, the teenager let out a little noise of contentment. One of the great things about going for a proper climb in a tree, was that all of her muscles got both stretched out and used. The student hadn't had the time to do so in at least a few days, and her body was clearly starting to protest the lack of one of its favorite activities.

Bertie's eyes followed a spider crawling in no particular direction as he pondered what Vivianna had said. She believed in him and it wasn't a biased sisterly statement, her words seemed genuine. Maybe he would just wait to see how time played out. What was meant to be was meant to be. If only there was a way that he could see his future, then he'd know it would either just happen or it'd motivate him to change his future and shape into the life he wants.

'Do you think divination is true?' Bertie asked quietly. He thoroughly enjoyed the class, more the fact it was easier than his others and despite being a logical thinker he enjoyed how you could interpret things in different ways. Usually he didn't see anything in the crystal ball, but had fun reading his dreams and discovering some meaning to them. The only doubt Bertie had was whether it was all psychological, some sort of mind game, or if it was genuine. The future. Set in stone.

"I don't know," the Slytherin admitted slowly. She'd never taken the optional course, but there was a small part of her that had wanted to. "I think that some of it's certainly true, some of it's bogus, and the majority of it is only true if we make it true," the redhead admitted after a minute of thought. It was a safe enough responce no matter what Bertie was thinking, and it was also the closest thing the girl could get to a decisive answer.

Vivianna was pretty sure that some of the subject was complete rubbish. Other parts though, had a tendency to be scarily accurate. The rest was a up to the person in question. It was such a complex subject. In truth, the witch had avoided it because she'd been a little bit scared. Vivianna had never been too fond of the unknown or things that she couldn't pinpoint. Divination was a prime example of this, and so she'd avoided it a much as possible.

Hug Hunting - Page 3 Empty Re: Hug Hunting

Bertie pondered what Vivianna had said for a moment, the orange sunset filtering through the murky paned glass. He returned to sit on the stool for a few minutes thinking about what his life may be in the future. He had no true ambition at the moment, there were many careers he liked the idea of: creative writing, journalism, teaching, music. None of them really stood out. He wouldn't mind have a mix. Writing as a hobby and selling his work whilst also teaching at the same time - he doubted he'd become a teacher though, Hogwarts had such few staff as it is and the chance of a position coming available in a subject such a charms or Herbology was rather unlikely.

A croak from Snidget broke his thoughts. 'I might send a letter. Start writing it this week.' Bertie said, his eyes vacant and his tone indecisive. 'If I wrote it would you read over it first though?' Bertie felt cheeky asking this, Vivianna already had a plot on her plate: OWL's & Working at the wand store. Hopefully she'd find the time.

'It's mesmerising isn't it, the sunset.' Bertie stated, walking to the window and gazing trough the dust, a slight smile spreading from dimple to dimple. The sunset was exactly how Erika had described it to him, her elegant words were engraved into his mind.

"Of course I'll read it," Vivianna said with an eye-roll. Really, the way that boy underestimated her sometimes. If she didn't have the time, she'd make time. Bertie was her little brother, and she'd do a lot more than proof-read a letter for him if he asked.

"It is," the redhead agreed, walking towards the window Bertie was standing out of. One of her pale hands resting on the Ravenclaw's shoulder, the two students stood there in complete tranquility, just taking in the beauty of the sky.

Not quite able to help her instincts that were screaming at her to be on a high perch, Vivianna broke the peaceful moment. Walking a few feet away toward the other window, the witch pushed it open with a small grunt, clambered up to sit upon the ledge, and returned to staring at the sky.

Hug Hunting - Page 3 Empty Re: Hug Hunting

Bertie found himself standing for so long gazing out of the window in admiration of the natural world. It wouldn't be long until the picturesque view would soon have sunken from view and stars would be embroided in the night sky. He began to think about all the sunsets ahead of him. There were three hundred and sixty six sunsets a year, they were so common yet it was amazing how appreciated they really were.

Vivianna got up and opened a window, moving onto the ledge. 'Viv!' Bertie gasped. You'd think by now he would be used to her daring love for heights... yet if she happened to slip.
'Should we go for a walk in the ground?' He asked, edging closer. This would allow them to watch the sunset in the cool air and Vivianna could climb a tree - which was not as high as the sixth floor! Despite being younger he still felt protective, after all she was like a sister. No. She was his sister, maybe not by blood but he felt more a relative to her than he did his cousin Theodore.
