GENERAL APPEARANCE: Shylock generally exhibits an air of indifference, making him appear unapproachable to most. The exception to this is when speaking to his younger siblings, whom he expresses far more visible affection towards than either Monroe or Destrey.
While he doesn't dress shabbily, neither is he very concerned about appearances. You may see Shylock walking the halls with his shirt hanging out or his tie undone.

PERSONALITY:
Shylock has an accepting nature, along with an even temper. In his family, this is interpreted as a malleable personality. Outside the family these attributes combine with his reputation to make him seem intimidating or even scary to some.
The truth is somewhere in the middle. Shylock does not really have a malleable disposition; he is merely willing to go along with the plans of others so long as they do not interfere with his own plans (and there is nothing more interesting to do).
Likewise, Shylock is can be intimidating and even enjoys frightening people or forcing them to do things they don't want (though he isn't particularly happy about having such an unflattering reputation as a consequence) but left to himself, he might be disquieting, but he certainly wouldn't have the level of infamy he has attained right now..

CHARACTER HISTORY

Early Years: Shylock grew up in the draughty corridors of Connistone Hall where, along with the rest of his siblings, he was allowed to do more or less as he pleased.
His learning before Hogwarts was dictated only by his interests or by the outings his parents organised to museums and galleries across the country.
Hogwarts Years: Thanks to Destrey and his penchant for taking responsibility for her, Shylock has managed to gain a fearsome reputation during his time at Hogwarts. Whatever awful thing his sister managed to concoct, Shylock was the one to get caught for (when anyone was caught at all) and depending on who you are, you could be anything from slightly wary of him, to completely terrified by him.
In the meantime, Shylock doesn't loathe school like his "twin" has up until now, nor does he love it like his other siblings seem to. Mostly, he gets on with doing the work as quickly as possible, before it bores him to death.
