Jess chuckled and held his hands up in a gesture of surrender "Oh no, you caught me," he said, his voice shaking with fear before he burst out laughing once more. "No," he said as his laughter subsided, "I've only been here once or twice, and only ever alone," he told her, knowing full well that she was only joking, but responding just in case.
He then resumed eating his pasta, twirling the fettucine around his fork and then, of course, eating it, pausing only when his food dropped off... so every few seconds really, and also when he chose to have a drink... he actually felt a little awkward for some reason. There wasn't much talking whilst the two of them ate, which was a little unnerving for him. "Good, good," He mumbled, allowing his fork to sit in his half-full dish for a few seconds as he looked up at his dinner partner. "And yours? They normally do a good bolognaise here, I've always found," he told her.
Luckily she broke it properly with a real question, or a statement which sounded like a question... a respondable statement. Anyway, something they could talk about. "Well, I say we just act naturally, don't be overly affectionate, don't act like strangers, that sort of thing," he told her, shrugging slightly as he did so.
"Still, it'll be really nice having you there, I've missed seeing you at Hogwarts," he added with a wink
