On the order of the new minister of magic, Gellert Grindelwald, both Jess Potter and Khaat Lupin were removed from the Wizengamot yesterday. A recent inquiry into ministry officials by the new administration found both Potter and Lupin guilty on charges of corruption and of aiding the terrorist group known as the Order of the Phoenix, the organization responsible for the recent damage to Hogwarts School. Both Potter and Lupin will have to answer for these crimes at court once a new Chief Warlock is appointed next week.
Indeed, both Potter and Lupin's ascension to these positions in the first place were a matter of suspicion. A while ago, the Order of the Phoenix seized the ministry and appointed their own members to several positions of importance. In particular, the appointment of Khaat Lupin as chief warlock of the Wizengamot raised eyebrows, for many believed that this was only possible through her family connections and the Order's influence in the ministry.
Further blows were dealt to the reputation of the Lupin family as the Ministry also announced the very same day that the previous minister, Robert Lupin, has also been charged with corruption as well as misuse of power. Robert Lupin's whereabouts are currently unknown, although it is believed by many that he has fled the country, but under orders of the new minister of magic he must now appear for a hearing by the Wizengamot or be branded an undesirable.
Step by step, Gellert Grindelwald is ridding the corruption and scandals that had plagued the ministry during Robert Lupin's time at office, and is securing a bright future for the Wizarding World.
