Why me? Empty Why me?

Post by Margaret Chase Sat Jul 23, 2011 5:53 am

Margaret hurriedly ran out of The Three Broomsticks and down the street. She absolutely had to get home before her parents noticed she missed curfew.. Damn, if she could use magic outside of school, she'd be there in about two seconds. Living in a muggle home, you couldn't really just use the floo network, it'd be on the stupid muggle news for days. She decided she'd cut through the alleys the backs of buildings let out to, just to get to her house quicker. As she sprinted through the narrow, brick alleys, she thought of what she'd heard from Chase. She sounded like she'd had it pretty rough. And what was up with her hair? She'd have to find out about that later. Maybe something to do with that deranged lunatic she was talking about? Ah, well. She didn't have a clue what she was talking about. She just hoped her parents wouldn't become deranged lunatics when they found out how late she was going to be getting back home.

As she was nearing a dim, flickering light, she noticed there was a fence ahead. Damn. She guessed she'd just have to scale it to get over it and then she'd only have about a mile to run before she was home. Could she do it in twenty minutes? No. Somewhere close? Maybe. She approached the fence, and started to try to climb over. No luck. She had never been a very good athlete. Maybe that's why her mother had finally let her quit modeling. She had kind of let herself go... She managed to climb halfway up the fence again, then her palms were too sweaty so she fell on her arm.

She gasped in shock. She may have broken it. She couldn't move it or anything. She just laid there on the ground looking pathetic, letting out light sobs as the cuts on her hand were dripping blood from the loose rock that was conveniently just right there where she fell. Great. She really hoped one of the shopkeepers would come and set out their trash or something back here. They did do that, right? That wasn't just muggles? God, she hoped not. She was musing about how much her mom would yell at her for being out this late and breaking her arm, of all things.

After a few minutes of being there alone, she started getting paranoid thoughts about who else could be out there. Maybe there was some creepy guy back her hanging out that was just looking for someone to kill. After all, there were some creepy people she'd been hearing about from some of her friends at school. She just really hoped that they weren't right here, right now. Oh, God, it'd be so horrible if the wrong person found her back here. Maybe she'd just lie there and pretend to be dead. Yeah, that sounded like a good plan. She doubted if she could keep her sobs to herself though, and when she could see someone approaching, they would have already heard her. She was lost in her weird paranoa until she saw a dim light, looking like it belonged to a wand flickering to her right, as if someone was walking with it.

That's when she saw him. Creepy looking thing, he was. Looked like he stepped right out of a "Wanted" poster for escaped prisoners from Azkaban.. Oh, God did she hope he was just one of those people that looked really creepy but were actually just some nice guy coming to help her. He approached and stood over her. She couldn't tell what he was thinking. Whoa, he had a great poker face. She didn't know who this guy was, or why he was hanging out in the back alleys at Hogsmeade late at night, but guessed she was about to find out.

Why me? Empty Re: Why me?

Post by Felix Barker Sat Jul 23, 2011 6:08 am

There were many creepy people down the alleyways of London these days. From old men trying to get off, to women just looking for spare change, people got weirder and weirder. Especially down the alleyways, and of course. Felix just happened to be one of those weirdos. He stood at the entrance to an alleyway, staring at a poster. The man in the picture was handsome, a little skinny truthfully, and he had deep sunken in eyes. He was looking back calmly, for this picture wasn't moving.. and it was different then the ones in Diagon Alley, which had a different contact agency beneath it. But the man was startlingly handsome, and Felix felt as though justice had been done to his facial features, they had gotten his good side (Though of course naturally both of his sides were his good side).

Felix looked up suddenly when a girl flew down an alley across the street, and managed to fall as she tried to scale the fence at the end of it. For her it was most likely to dark for her to see out onto the street, but from where Felix was standing, he had a perfect view of what she was doing, and he watched with interest as she fell, and started to cry, her arm was obviously broken, and Felix stood watching the girl carefully. Suddenly however, he saw someone who was obviously in the wrong place. A man with a wand lit crept down the alleyway towards the girl. And he could hear her sobs getting quieter, and he had no doubt this man had bad intentions for this girl.. so Felix did the one thing he knew he had to do.

Pulling his hood up, he swept across the road, and down the other alleyway. Coming up behind the man, he whispered in his ear. "Do you have a problem with my prey?" She asked, and saw the man look fearful. It wasn't only among muggles and the 'good' side of the wizards that were afraid of him. Death Eaters, and lowly criminal wizards were afraid also. He had a reputation.. and everyone knew his voice. The man spun around and bowed to Felix. "Sorry! Sorry, I thought she was unattended!" he said and without another word swept out of the alley.

"You should be more careful in dark places like these... there are a lot of bad people out here.. and acting the victim will only get you killed.. let me help you." he said gently, kneeling in front of the girl, and very carefully reaching for her arm, his wand held out. "I won't hurt you... I promise... let me see your arm so I can heal it.." he said softly, his eyes kind, if not a bit dark, but a kind smile on his face offthrew that.. and he was very handsome to say the least. He didn't LOOK like a creepy man.. even though most of society viewed him as a dangerous criminal.. he took pride in his accomplishments, even if they were a bit.. strange.

Margaret watched in horror as another man crept up on the man that was now standing over her. He whispered something in the man's ear that must have been intimidating enough to make anything be afraid, because the creepy guy peeled off down the street going so fast Margaret swore she couldn't see him half the time.

The creepy weird man was now replaced by an absolutely stunning one who was now kneeling over her and reaching for her arm. She tried to flinch back so he couldn't touch it, but it hurt so bad she couldn't move it herself. She just stayed still so he could do what he wanted with her broken arm. She didn't know how badly it was actually broken or what could heal it, she was just glad she hadn't been raped or something horrible like that by that strange person that this guy scared off.

All she could really do was just whimper for a while, then she finally managed to spit out the words, "Oh, God, thank you so much, you probably just saved my life! Who are you?"

Felix looked at the girl as she tried to flinch away, but when she let him near her, he smiled and gently touched his wand to her arm, muttering a few spells, which would at least keep the arm tied up and so that it wouldn't break more then it already was. "There..." he said looking at the magically made splint along her arm. "That should keep it from breaking more.. you'll need to see the doctor right away.." he said nodding at her gently. "Please... you must come and have some tea or something with me, I'm sure I have a potion that will let you heal that up right away... Please... you must not be out here by yourself." He said and gently reached forward, grabbing her good arm. "Besides, I bet your mother will be very worried, I can call her and tell her you are in safe hands." He said smiling gently at the young girl.

She was young.. probably only fifteen or sixteen.. and that was just perfect for Felix. Felix was a twisted man, and while his face showed a calm, nice exterior, his head was plotting. Figuring out where he could take her to make some tea, and slip her a sleeping draught. He knew of a wizarding residence not far from here, who were out for the holidays.. he had actually just been heading over there when he had seen the poster, and been admiring it when he saw the girl. But now that he had a new victim.. well he wasn't about to let her escape. "Please.. come with me.. My name is David Greene.." He said, making a name up on the spot. "I'm studying to become an auror.. and I am nearly finished with my training." He said gently, smiling at the girl. Obviously she was a Hogwarts Student.. he could tell by her complete non reaction towards his wand, but that also meant she probably had her own wand hidden somewhere.. he would have to get it from her without her noticing on the way to the house.

"Please.. follow me. I will get that arm repaired, and you sent home soon!" he said giving her his arm so that she could help herself up on it, and even lean against him if she needed to. He was confident in his appeal and charm to appease to her, and she already thought him attractive.. in the simple way she looked at him, it was obvious that she was blinded by his looks.. as most people were at first meeting... people usually got over that quickly though.

Margaret watched as the man's wand sent shimmering trails through her broken arm, and soon it was in a cast-looking-thing, and she could move it a couple of inches. Well, it's a start. she thought. At least it wasn't as bad as having to sit in a hospital for two days and drink all of this nasty stuff that she swore contained piss from some weird animal or another. That car crash was terrible. At least nothing could compare to it. Or so she thought.

She wasn't really all too sure if she should just get up and follow a guy to God-knows-where with a broken arm... but she did have her wand up her sleeve somewhere, and if the guy tried anything funny (although he looked like he wouldn't) the Ministry would surely go easy on her, considering it was an emergency. After all, the guy WAS (if he wasn't lying) studying to become an auror, those were generally pretty good people... She decided she didn't have much to lose if she went with him, her parents were probably already freaking out. And if he actually did call them, that might make things at least a little better.

He asked her to go with him and offered her his arm to get up, so she took it, pulled herself to her feet with her other arm, and was ready to go wherever this person was going to take her. She didn't know who he was, anyway. Meeting him could be a benefit, or a fatal mistake for her, but she didn't care, at least she wasn't still lying in the alley with a broken arm.

Felix smiled at the girl, and gently lead her up the alley, and taking a quick look around, he was careful to pull his hood back up. "Precaution." He whispered to the girl. "The people in this area think I'm one of them.. and it's best that they continue thinking that way.. I've been in this area for weeks, trying to get them to trust me.. make them think I'm as bad as they are so I can bust them.. it's been hard, and I don't want that to be spoiled, I hope that's alright with you." He said glancing at her, and looking away again. His arm held firmly around her, his hand moving gently against her sleeve, nearly unfeeling as he searched for her wand. Felix was quite good at pickpocketing.. and wands up the sleeve were easily the easiest thing to take from a girl who was hurt like this.. in fact, her being hurt was a benefit for him.. meant she was weak on one side, and wouldn't put up to much of a struggle when he did finally reveal himself.

Leading her up the street, he glanced around him, before tapping his wand on a door to a house, and gently pushing her into the house in front of him. He shut the door behind him and locked it, and turned around, flicking his wand to turn on some lights while at the same time pulling his hood down, and smiling at the girl. "Please.. come in here." He said, leading her into the living room. He hoped she wouldn't notice how dusty things seemed. But with a quick swish of his wand, he made the dust disappear, and the room tidied up a bit. "Sorry about the mess... I've been out doing field work for a while.. don't have much of a chance to clean up if you know what I mean! Helps that sometimes I have to bring the baddies here... they don't want a squeaky clean house anyway.." he said, a lame excuse, but it would do.

"So tell me your name.." He said, waving his wand, and making brownies appear on a tray. "Do you go to Hogwarts? Can I get your parent's phone number so that I may call them? They must be worried sick about you." he said, in a calming voice, hoping not to scare her quite yet.. there would be plenty of that later.. for now he was toying with her like a cat toys with a mouse. Watching her slowly start to trust him, and then pouncing for the kill. "Eat one.. getting hurt can make someone hungry, I would know.." he said tapping his nose, which did look quite bent out of shape. "In my job.. you get hit more often then you'd like people to know.." He smiled at her and leaned back in his own chair, taking a brownie off the tray and eating it. "Write your number on this.." He said waving his wand again, and a piece of paper and quill and ink flew over to the coffee table from the desk, and landed in front of her.

"And I'll go get that potion for you alright?" He asked, and got up swiftly, moving into the hallway, and into the kitchen, so that he could use the floo really fast to go get a potion from his own supply back at home.. without alarming her, he wanted to make sure she was completely at ease, and trusted him, before he took her to his lair, where he would have his own way with her.

Margaret thought it was kind of sketchy that this guy insisted on keeping his hood up all the time... She assumed it was some auror thing that he'd adopted and didn't say anything. She walked with him quietly, answering the occasional question, but not being too descriptive. She didn't really know who the guy was, after all. He could just be lying about all this stuff.... But he was being so nice.. She just let it go. It's not like she could put up much of a fight now, anyway.

They finally stopped at a house, and he helped her inside. She used what little light the covered windows were letting in to take in the appearance of the first room. It was an absolute wreck. There were random things just strewn all over the place. Not much time passed by before he was explaining it all. Though, she wasn't really listening to what he was saying, all she was really thinking was: What the hell? Why did he lock the door...? She assumed there was a reason for that, too. Though, she didn't konw what, there had to be something. This guy came off as pretty nice.

"I'm, uh, Margaret Ch-ase." she managed to say. Honestly, she was kind of scared to be there alone with him. She thought he was nice, and really hoped he stayed that way. "Yeah, I go to Hogwarts." she said. Whoa. There were brownies in front of her. As madly as she wanted to, she hesitated to eat any of the brownies until he picked one up and took a bite of it himself. She just wanted to make sure they were okay before she started to eat one. She took the piece of paper and quill, and hurriedly scrawled her parents' phone number. Then, she scarfed the brownie down. She was so hungry. She'd only had butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks, and that had still been a while ago.

He got up to get her potion, and she was left sitting in the messy room by herself, scarfing down a bunch of brownies. She wasn't too worried about this guy any more, she just hoped none of the bad people they'd seen on their way here would make their way to his doorstep.

Why me? Empty Re: Why me?

Post by Felix Barker Sat Jul 23, 2011 7:32 am

Felix summoned the piece of paper, and yelled out so that she could hear. "Are you thirsty? I could get you something to drink? How about some tea?" He yelled, and pointed his wand at the fireplace. He had already gone and come back in the space of five seconds, and was back in the kitchen with a potions bottle in his hand. The label on it was blank, but he obviously knew what he was doing.. because it was only a bone healing potion... right? Felix watched the kettle boil, and made two cups of tea. After bringing them back into the front room, he sat down and looked at her. "Well Margaret, I'll called your parents while I was in there... they were worried, but happy that an auror found you.. they gave me permission to heal your arm as well.. said something about not needing to go to the hospital if I do it right now." he said smiling at her. He had decided to play it safe and actually call her parents, make them not worried.. but more and more worried when she didn't show up at home, it would be great fun.

"Have some tea." He said pushing the cup towards her, as well as the sugar bowl, and the potion he had brought. "And take this.. it will hurt quite a bit... you broke your arm pretty badly.. but after that it should feel fine.." he said smiling at her gently and taking a sip of his own tea. Blowing on it first to cool it off. "I am sorry if my home scares you in any way.. I'm single.. so, I don't exactly have someone to help clean up after me." he smiled at her, showing a row of clean white teeth, before he took another sip of his tea. Felix couldn't help but feel proud of himself. From the moment he had found her, until now, he had been forced to sit still, and pretend to be a good boy, and it was killing him. The need to reach out and grab her broken arm painfully was strong, and it took all of his self control to keep the calm, serene smile on his face. "I'm only 23... so it is a bit difficult.. working, and keeping up a house." He smiled at her, and pushed her cup closer again. "Please.. I insist.. And don't worry if you get a bit sleepy.. it's a side affect of the potion.. You'll be at home before it really starts to make you drowsy.. so you'll be fine..I promise." he said smiling at her, and taking another brownie off of the plate and taking a large bite out of it.

Margaret was still trying to take in all of the contents of the messy house when the man came back in with some tea and a small bottle of potion. The tea smelled amazing. She was relieved that he was able to actually make contact with her parents. Though, she was kind of surprised that they were okay with her staying to have him heal her broken arm. She'd taken bone-healing potions before, and they were anything but tasty, so she enjoyed her tea before even thinking about taking the potion. When she was done with it, she quickly gulped down the liquid, which left a wretched taste in her mouth.

As soon as that potion touched her lips, she knew it wasn't bone repairing potion. Whatever it was, it was doing weird things to her. She suddenly felt uncomfortably warm and let out a shriek before she realized that it was a sleeping draught, and within the next minute, she was dipping below consciousness and waking up soon after, but she knew soon that she would be out cold. If anything, she really hoped that the man, whoever he was, had actually called her parents... They might be able to trace the call, or something. Her thoughts grew weaker, and she couldn't remember anything that had happend within the past few minutes, so she just stayed lying there, waiting to finally slip below consciousness for longer than just a few seconds.

Why me? Empty Re: Why me?

Post by Felix Barker Sat Jul 23, 2011 7:56 am

The moment the bottle touched her lips, Felix started to act quickly. The plate of brownies disappeared, as did his smile. He undid his cloak, and looked down at the girl who was nearly unconscious. "Welcome to the real world girlie... there is NO one that nice." he growled and then grinned down at her. "Kid.. you have a lot to learn.." he said, and grabbed her broken arm roughly, dragging her to her feet, even in her completely dazed state. The potion was meant for him to be able to drag her around for quite a bit before she actually lost consciousness. "My name is Felix Barker girl.. and you just made the worst mistake of you life." He grinned and pulled her into the kitchen of the house. It was obviously not lived in, and the smell was pretty terrible in there. He pushed her towards the fireplace, and threw in a pinch of floo powder.

In they went, and within seconds, he was in a fireplace.. in the middle of a clearing, in a house that was mostly torn down. It was a wonder why the floo connection was still hooked up to that house. Sweeping his arm under the girl's feet, he walked away from the house, stalking through the woods, a mostly unconscious girl in his arms. Suddenly there was a yelping and a growling. Felix pulled out his wand until he realized that it was his dog. Hyde. This dog had the name Hyde for a reason, because he was unlike any other dog. It was larger then a normal dog, and looked exactly like a wolf, but his saliva looked a pukey green color, and when it hit the ground it appeared to sizzle and eat away at the leaves there. "Hey Hyde.. I have a new playmate for you." He said, grinning evilly.

Walking through the forest, he finally came to a run down building that looked nothing special, but he walked around back, and rammed his hand against the tin. It immediately opened up, and revealed a long narrow staircase. Hyde was barking excitedly as Felix walked swiftly down these stairs, heading deeper and deeper into the earth. What started out as smooth stairs, quickly became rocky, and less smooth, until finally they appeared to be in a damp underground passage. Along the walls were jail cells, complete with bars, and even the occasional skeleton in them. Felix walked straight past these though, and deeper into the cave system he was in. It got very dark for quite a while, until suddenly a light appeared at the end of a very dark tunnel, and still Felix walked on.. normally he apparated this far.. but he wasn't about to risk it with the girl in his arms. Finally though, he found himself in a well lit area.. and a few doors leading off of it, and another staircase in front of him. Turning to the left, he pushed open a door, and looked around.

Blood coated the walls, and bones were scattered in the corner. Chains hung against the wall and ceiling, and a silver operating table sat in the middle, complete with wrist, ankle, and waist brackets, that made sure the person who was on the table, could not move. Felix laid the girl on the table, and strapped her in, knowing it would be cold, and knowing full well if she was a strong person, then it might just snap her out of her potion induced daze. "Hyde... Grab my bag." He said simply, and Hyde trotted out of the room swiftly, the door closing behind him, and leaving Felix and Maragret in the cold, damp room. Alone.
