Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

''Weasly, you do know that I have an idiot like you every year. 'We can do it, it's easy, blah-blah-blah', they used to say and then... they would fail in the end. Of course you can levitate your parchment, you idiot... my pet parrot could do it, but it is a warm up exercise as you should not blast your classmates unless you have control over your wand, and you mostly don't! Now, since all of you can probably do it, your next task is to conjure an empty glass, again non-verbally, and then fill it with water using Aguamenti, again non-verbally. But, it has to be 3/4 of the glass, not less, not more. This is a exercise of multi-tasking and control. Now, continue'', he said.

The arguing between students and teacher was frustrating to Brienne. She looked over to the professor, "I'm sorry, but if it continues to be an argument between you and the students...I'm afraid I have to leave". In the meantime, though, she got to work with the assigned task. First, she levitated a piece of parchment. It wasn't too hard for her, in fact, it was too easy. Now came the harder part, doing non-verbal magic. However, she started to show off a little by keeping the parchment still floating whilst silently conjuring the glass. She was able to focus her attention on both the parchment and appearing glass. Now came for the 3/4ths of water. Hoo boy, she was not very good at estimates. However, she broke it down mathematically within her mind until she imagined that glass 3/4 full, then she cast the charm. The levitating parchment was still in the air, though it started to falter slightly.

Jack was rather skilled at nonverbal magic. She had come to use nonverbal spells a lot recently, as more and more opportunities had popped up where Jack had needed the element of surprise. And they were golden in pranks, which made the deed silent as well as surprising an unexpected. But she was already a little bored by their activity, and she had not even started it yet.

She conceded to herself that she could think if the easy lesson as a break and she stood, to gather her parchment. She silently summoned it and the sent it flying into the air, a bored look on her face, She flopped back into her chair, propping her felt up on the table and letting the parchment do cartwheels and flips in the air.

Lesson 6 - N.E.W.T. Level - Page 2 Empty Re: Lesson 6 - N.E.W.T. Level

Post by Elijah Krum Sun Apr 03, 2011 9:02 pm

The morning had been slow. That was Elijah's excuse. He was sure it was a poor excuse; actually, he knew it was a poor excuse. Still, he hadn't the energy to come up with anything better. The weekend had been trying. After arguing with the Dufftown woman over cigarettes, he'd wandered back into Hogsmeade and had a few drinks in the Hogs Head. He'd woken up Sunday morning with a splitting headache and he hadn't exactly shaken it off yet.

Elijah entered the classroom looking as regal and aristocratic as ever. He was poised and ready for the day ahead. Everything was pressed, neat and tidy. His clothing was in order and his bag was laden with books as it should have been. He closed the door behind him and strode down the central aisle. He stopped beside his chosen seat and dumped his bag underneath. After shedding his outer robes and placing them on the back of the chair, Elijah turned to the Professor.

"Forgive me, sir. I lost track of time."

And with that, Elijah sat down.
